I don't mean mechanically, that part is pretty clear: I mean in-world. What is it about a piece of ammunition fired from the same bow as a regular piece of ammunition that could knock someone down? Would like to give my players a little more than "it packs a wallop!"
What the title says, I know magic items are rare but I wish they'd give some idea for how much they might cost
So a friend and me, we are listening to kind of heavy stuff, genre is Post-Hardcore. We call it "Dresche" (german) which literally means "walloping" but it's more like a metaphor to "Full Throttle!".
Long talk short: We can't go further. There's nothing. Emptiness. No songs fit our style AND take it up a notch.
So I'm stuck with basically two songs which I now listen for months in a row:
... and now - We've built a resistance to everything which is not fast/emotional/screamy/punchy/etc enough.
Do you guys have any songs or bands we could check out? We have monthly "breakdownsessions" but we cannot find anything which succeeds The Depth.
Thanks guys!!

I'm running a campaign with monsters that are resistant to piercing from nonmagical attacks, and a player has walloping arrows, which require a DC 10 STR check or else the target is knocked prone. Would firing one of those arrows at such a monster negate the resistance (because the arrow is magical) or not (because the attack is still at its core just an arrow attack)? What if the bow that fires a nonmagical arrow is magical; what then? Thanks in advance! I expect this to come up in our session tomorrow and just want to be ready for it lol.
EDIT: Thanks for the responses, I just wasn't sure if "magical attack" meant it had to be from a spell or something.
HOLY FUCK I AM EXCITED IT'S BEEN TOO LONG.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't seem to find a conclusive answer. How many pieces of Walloping Ammunition do you get? Does it come in groups like Arrows (20)?
Welcome to Opening Day 1918! The Cubs were in for an exciting season, and I hope you'll enjoy following it along with me as much as I've enjoyed researching it. Full credit for the original idea goes to /u/MMoney2112, who did a series like this in r/whitesox last year, following the 1917 season. I saw it when I was traded to that sub during the All-Star break, and was inspired to try it here.
The Cubs' season got off to a bumpy start in St. Louis when ace pitcher Grover Cleveland "Pete" Alexander lost his opening day outing β certainly not what one would hope for from a man making $12,000 a year. He didnβt get much help from his teammates, however β Max Flack and Pete Kilduff combined to misplay a ball in the first inning, which led to an early baserunner who would later score on a triple by Rogers Hornsby. As Tribune reporter James Crusinberry informed his readers, βLuck and support might have saved the big fellow [Alexander], but the St. Louis athletes walloped him for two doubles, three triples, and four singles, which is considerable walloping.β St. Louis starter Lee Meadows, by way of contrast, cruised for eight innings before the Cubs rallied in the ninth to get two unearned runs. It wasnβt enough to make up the deficit, however, and the final score was Cardinals 4, Cubs 2. A tough start to the season, but a bright spot was the new Cubs shortstop Charley Hollocher, who had two hits and only made one error in eight chances; surely a future star in the making.

... keep reading on reddit β‘So it's possible to choose Walloping Ammunition as a common magic item when you roll it on the This is Your Life table of life events. It doesn't really say how many you would get though. Is it the same amount as a standard bundle of arrows (i.e. twenty)? Is it just one? Is it 1d6 like with +1 ammunition? I'd assume twenty as the common magic items seem to have to replace their mundane counterparts in AL but I'm not sure.
Also, are these arrows recoverable? It seems like they would use the normal rules but again it isn't stated anywhere. I'd assume you would always be able to recover an Unbreakable Arrow though.
