A list of puns related to "Verdasco"
Hey all,
I decided to re-live one of the key matches in Andy Murray's career today. This was a true test for him on the way to his first Wimbledon title. Enjoy!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-2LC-av4xU
As the title states, Verdasco played in 67 straight grand slams from 2003 Wimbledon to 2020 Australian Open. I haven't been able to find anyone who has played in more consecutive grand slams, with Federer's 65 straight from 2000 Australian Open to 2016 Australian Open being the closest second. Is this an Open era record?
Hight level of hits for both sides, Verdasco winning 3 games in a row after being 5-0 was incredible. i will keep watching the game and I will recommend you to watch it too.
Honestly watching Murray is fairly sad. Times up :(
The whole video is a good watch, but highlights of the highlight:
This point shows the kind of crazy defense players have to possess today.
Double faults while hitting two top spin backhand serves.
Moutet behaving so strangely Fernando is not even sure if theyβre playing or not.
Moutet suddenly hitting one handed top spin drives and ripping a winner
Fakes an overhead and hits a drop shot winner a la Bahrami.
Moutet throws his racket into the air at a top spin lob and hits the ball.
What a match!
What an exceptional tournament by him. His playstyle is very entertaining with a lot of great athleticism showed. He also beat Verdesaco and Wawrinka on the same day because of the QF being postponed due to the weather. He has decent support from the French diaspora here in Qatar and will definitely be a match worth watching.
Verdasco moves to the third round. The last game of the fourth set took over 10 minutes with both men saving game/match points.
Interested to see what people think this was Verdascoβs only real chance at a slam
Verdasco is 8030 points away, while Murray was 8035 points away.
( 2015 Rankings: 1. Novak Djokovic (SRB) 16,785 2. Andy Murray (GBR) 8,750 3. Roger Federer (SUI) 8,430 )
If Nadal wins Wimbledon, the threshold will move up to #10 David Goffin.
Tomorrow we will see two very interesting matches in the 4th round of Roland Garros - Thiem vs Nishikori and Djokovic vs Verdasco. Thiem and Djokovic are big favourites, but I think that they are gonna lose. Why?
Thiem's level of tennis is not impressive at the moment. I watched him against Tsitsipas and Berrettini and he really struggled with his game. He beat them in 4 sets, but he can play much better than that. Meanwhile, Nishikori looks really good. He destroyed Simon and beat Paire who plays like crazy in 2nd round.
The same situation is in the second match - Djokovic struggled against Bautista Agut and I'm still not convinced about his level of tennis, especially forehand. He played 4 hours match and he could be tired. On the other hand Verdasco destroyed Dimitrov playing really, really good. He doesn't fear Djokovic. I think he will win.
Nishikori vs Thiem 2-0
Nishikori beat him once on grass and once on clay - 2016 in Rome. He also matches very well against Thiem and his backhand. I trust Nishikori more in the best-of-5 than Thiem.
Djokovic vs Verdasco 10-4
They are 3-3 on clay, with Verdasco winning last two meetings in 2010 in Monte Carlo and Rome. He has a game to defeat Djokovic - flat, powerful shots down the line.
