A list of puns related to "Verbatim Theatre"
Hi Reddit,
I am a breast cancer survivor (5 years since diagnosis, yey!) I am studying theatre at university currently and would like to write a verbatim theatre peice about what's happening to you right now.
What is it like to be going through cancer treatment currently? Are you taking measures to quarantine yourself? Tell me what's changed for you, due to the Coronavirus pandemic?
If you reply to this post, I will likely be using your exact wording to create a play.
If you do not consent to having your words recorded and used for public performance, do not reply to this post.
I look forward to hearing about your experiences!
Edit: I'm not sure why this post is getting downvoted but I guess I should clarify a few if things:
It is unlikely I will make any money out of this. I'm interested in making the this play for the sake of recording people's experience in such a historically significant time.
I am 37f from Perth, Western Australia
I have no nefarious intentions. I went through chemo and radiation and was terrified about getting sick because my immune system was nonexistent. I just want to hear about what it's like to go through cancer treatment during such a stressful time.
You don't need to have had anything to do with Coronavirus. I'm just interested in what it's like to be going through cancer treatment with the ever present threat of Coronavirus.
I hope that clarifies a few things.
Hey getting a circus act filmed end of this month. Theme is body image. Including verbatim theatre, first time attempt. Anyone got any tips?

"How did you manage to lose them? Youβve chased them all across the sea, and lost them the moment they get to land? Unacceptable!β Shulft was not happy. Not happy at all. And the idiot was going to get himself gutted if he didnβt get smarter very soon indeed.
βItβs quite simple,β Tarrskyn explained patiently, for the third time. βTheir ship is smaller than we are. She rides lighter in the water. She can turn quicker and hides in the fog better than we do. And the young lord she belongs to is a damn canny sailor. I can see why your master wants him so much; heβll fetch a handsome ransom.β
Shulft spat over the side and glared at the coastline as though it had made an uncouth comment about his motherβs virtue. βThey must have gone inland.β
βOf course they went inland,β Tarrskyn agreed, wrestling with his insulted pride. Who did this lead-footed clod think he was talking to? Heβd paid for the best captain and crew he could find, and now he was treating them all like fools.
But satisfying his frustrations and giving Shulft the thrashing he deserved before marooning him would be bad for business.
βSo? Head inland!β
βCertainly, your bjerkarness,β Tarrskyn smarmed. βAnd which of theβ¦ohβ¦five inlets Iβve seen so far should we explore? Assuming they didnβt sail further north or south up the shore. We last saw them two days ago, I remind you.β
Shulft glared at him, then returned his wrath toward the land. βI thought I paid for the best.β
βYou did. We havenβt lost them yet,β Tarrskyn promised. He returned to the back of the ship and dug through the items he had stashed there. βWatch and learn.β
He found what he was looking for, and turned around, holding it. Shulft frowned at the cage in his arms. βThatβs an aurnak.β
βBeautiful, isnβt she?β Tarrskyn agreed.
βI think she might be the ugliest aurnak Iβve ever laid eyes on.β
Tarrskyn snorted, slipped on a thick leather glove, opened the cage, and transferred the hooded, taloned animal to his hand. It hung upside-down from his wrist, cocking its head this way and that as it waited.
βFlying those is a nobleβs sport. Whatβs a lowlife like you doing with one?β
βSkathi here was always too ragged-looking to be a lordβs plaything,β Tarrskyn replied, stroking the birdβs head affectionately. Shulft wasnβt wrong; Skathi was tooβ¦feral to have ever been a nobleβs bird. But that just added to her charms as far as he was concerne

The field trip destination was a science center located in central Florida, and was large and popular enough that it would cater to multiple schools from all around the state on a single day. I vividly remember making a friend from another school, but being crushed when I found out he was from Miami and I was from Jacksonville and we were five hours apart.
The center featured a bunch of different science themed exhibits and shows for kids. One of the ones I remember fondly was a βsmell roomβ which featured a display on how the nose worked, and several ports you could stick your nose into and smell artificial smells. I remember some of these being intentionally rancid/pungent. (I want to say there was one that was verbatim fart themed)
There was a large animatronic of a character modeled after an kitchen sink that had snot dripping out of its nose, this animatronic would give listeners facts about the evolutionary purposes of things like snot and boogers I believe.
There was a space themed exhibit I unfortunately donβt recall much about.
There weβre several live shows peppered throughout the center, one of which featured an actor doing tricks with balloons filled with different gases, at one point he takes a giant torch to a giant ballon which causes a contained fiery explosion. (I remember this because it always scared the shit out of me)
There was a waiting area to the theatre the aforementioned show was held in that featured a very large scale that displayed weight via illuminated recycled milk cartons.

Thanks in advance! Iβve been trying to remember the name of this place for years.
Yβall I watched this movie by myself in a near empty theatre at night. I really cannot handle horror films and the fact that this movie got progressively darker paired with the amount of bloody jump scares there were nearly took me out.
Despite that, this movie was wonderfully shot. The sound design and cinematography was amazing and I especially teared up when they were reading the grandmotherβs email (if anyone happens to have a copy of what was said verbatim Iβd be very grateful).
Loved the ending shot. Loved this movie. A24 never disappoints.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
I won't be doing that today!

At first I wasnβt sure whether to deconstruct an article from 14 years ago, regardless of how rubbish or deserving of scorn it was (and believe me, it is full of the mythology that surrounds Haig and the First World War in general) . However, considering thatβ¦
β¦I thought it worth a shot. Dealing with the mythology of the Great War is also fun, and this article contains many hoary old myths in one concise document.
Geoffrey Norman (a contributor to such distinguished publications as the Wall Street Journal, Esquire and the American Spectator) begins his piece with the seemingly innocuous observation that βVisiting the Somme battlefield in northern France is largely a matter of going from one Commonwealth Graves Commission cemetery to anotherβ, and how the experience is liable to βstunβ, or leave one βoverwhelmedβ. Fair enough, although bearing in mind that the article is a comprehensive hatchet job on Douglas Haig, Normanβs intent here (as the article goes on to make clear) is that the BEFβS Commander in Chief βkilled those menβ.
>"The magnitude of the battle still stuns the imagination. The Somme was an epic of both slaughter and futility; a profligate waste of men and materiel such as the world had never seen...he discussed with subordinates methods for continuing the offensive.
>
>Which he did, with a kind of transcendent stubbornness, for another four months, until winter weather forced an end to the campaign, if not the fighting. By then, Haigβs army had suffered more than 400,000 casualties. For the British, in the grave judgment of noted military historian John Keegan, 'the battle was the greatest tragedyβ¦of their national military history' and 'marked the end of an age of vital optimism in British life that has never been recovered.' But Haig was not finished yet..."
This is something of a trope i
