Hello, I went to a hospital regarding a small swelling on my neck and they asked me to do an Ultrasound scan and FNAC. After seeing my results, theyβre trying to immediately put me into surgery (within 4days from the scan results) and Iβm just worried if itβs that serious and if it should be done immediately or if there are other forms of treatment. The Ultra Scan result said: TIRADS III nodules - Left Lobe TIRADS IV micro nodules - Right Lobe The FNAC report says: The smear findings are suspicious of papillary thyroid carcinoma. BSRTC-V Ive never taken thyroid supplements and my ths levels have been normal for whole my life (checked multiple times 0.866ulU/mL last time). I could provide any specific scan details if needed. Since the hospital is kind of pushing me too much into surgery Iβm a lil sceptical and I just wanted to ask if itβs that serious or if i should get a second opinion. I thank anyone in advance who takes their time to read this!
I'm trying to book some hair removal sessions in a place that my friend recommended (I can see just from looking at him that the results are pretty good), but the owner of the place tells me that they can't touch the area where the thyroid gland is for... unspecified reasons. Instinctively, this makes no sense, since I know these things don't penetrate past the skin, but I wanted to do some research and see if there's any scientific backing behind this. Has anyone ever been told this or is this yet another harmful myth borne from poor research by lazy salon owners?
(Just in case it's relevant, their laser machine is Syneron-Candela's eLase).
I have a friend that I care about a lot and she is morbidly obese. She has troubles with the thyroid gland, and that's the big issue. She wants to lose weight, she tried all diets, but nothing helped.
I am feeling bad to see her in pain.
Fasting did wonders for me. I never had any troubles with weight, but I lost around 4-5 kg and my energy and productivity increased at work and, my sleep was improved tremendously.
Now, I want to help her, but I am not sure if fasting will be safe for her, because of her condition with the thyroid gland and all the meds that she is taking for that.
If anyone has any experience with this, please share it.
Thank you!
Iβm 17F, 18 in two weeks. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was in a psych ward. All my blood work is fine, except Iβm anemic and have severe vitamin D deficiency and calcium def.
My T4 was within normal range, on the lower side, but I still need to take L-thyroxine. Also I need to go to an abdominal cavity and thyroid gland sonography. Any ideas why? I was too fn stupid and anxious to ask myself that.
My mom had to have her thyroid gland removed a couple years ago and she has trouble falling asleep since. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of issue? Could CBD oil help? If so which type, percentage etc? Thanks!
I (24F) was born without any thyroid tissue and I have been taking synthroid since I was a week old. I have a range of challenges; a hearing loss (both ears), working memory dysfunction, inattention, I have trouble reiterating information/central processing issues, severe energy imbalance, lethargy, anxiety and depression. Now that Iβm an adult, Iβm definitely struggling more than ever... I donβt think I was self aware enough to really notice it much when I was a kid. My parents never really explained what it was aside from it being apart of the endocrine system. I donβt think they understand what it is either. But Ive realized that I have never met or heard of anyone with this condition. Iβve been nervous about bringing this up on a public forum because itβs honestly debilitating and am extremely sensitive on the topic. I guess I just want to know if thereβs anyone out there that knows what this is like. Iβm feeling pretty alone and incapable these days.

After 6 years of dealing with Graveβs disease Iβm finally getting my thyroid gland removed. I want to get a tattoo to represent it. I know people often get butterfly tattoos since the thyroid gland kinda looks like one, but I donβt like butterflies... any other ideas?
Another thing is that a symptom of my thyroid disease has been Graveβs eye disease which causes my eyes to protrude and look asymmetrical which has affected not only my vision but also my self-confidence for all of my teenage years and now. Iβd like to somehow represent that as well.
its ugly
It looks like a butterlfy and the idea of having insets in my neck is unsettling
hormones make me sad
Cant get thyroidism without a thyroid
I could sell it to start a hotdog stand

Iβve been to urgent care twice, the clinic once and the emergency room once in the past five days, the doctors and nurses Iβve seen donβt know whatβs going on and keep chalking this up to something viral and is hoping it will go away on its own. This could very well be true, but this isnβt a sickness Iβve ever experienced before and Iβm miserable right now. Hereβs an album of my symptoms for more context: https://imgur.com/a/9AaXgoX
Iβll try to go through my symptoms by each day to keep it more organized.
06/15/2021: I noticed my left thyroid gland was massive, tender and hard. After noticing this, I shined a flashlight in the back of my throat and noticed white specks ONLY on my left tonsil. I decided to go to urgent care. Went to urgent care, I did a strep test and it was negative. Nurse told me this is likely something viral that I caught and should clear up in 7-10 days. At this point, Iβm having some minor pain when swallowing, but nothing terrible. Had a temp of 99.8 at the time.
06/16/2021: Scheduled a visit at my clinic with a doctor and asked for another strep test, which also came back negative. At this point, I had the chills, a fever, mild fatigue, it was beginning to hurt more to swallow. I was told to use chloraseptic spray, cough drops, ibuprofen/Tylenol and to drink plenty of water. When I would use the chloraseptic spray and cough drops, it didnβt help at all with my throat pain when swallowing.
06/18/2021: At this point, the pain when I swallow is getting pretty horrible. I go back in to urgent care for some sort of pain relief and they prescribed me magic mouthwash, which again, didnβt help at all with the pain. The nurse also said it is likely mono, but I canβt get tested until 06/23/2021. Throughout the day, the pain when swallowing increased significantly. I had already been having a hard time eating and drinking, but now I couldnβt eat at all, I could only take tiny sips of water, I was spitting out my spit because i
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi I'm 17M and i've been reading about Hashimoto lately. I noticed about 7 months (in august) I had a very bad fever which only lasted two days then went away all of a sudden on its own. After said fever, I started experiencing a lot of memory lapses, low moods (depression), thinning hair, pains in joint and my heart (it felt like I was having a heart attack).
So after a month or two it felt like I was dying and I couldn't take it anymore so I booked an appointment with the doctor. The doctor took a few blood and urine samples, checked my temperature and everything blah blah and said I was completely fine. He said because i've probably been having an unhealthy lifestyle that's why I felt like shit (ngl this was actually true). He recommended that I take 30mins jogs each morning to receive sunlight.
Fast forward to 1 week ago, I was a 100% sure that I was dying. My brain fog was extreme, I fall asleep even after 2hrs of waking up, my depression was over the edge, my heart was pounding insanely fast and I had 0 motivation or joy to do anything. I was completely fed up with this bs so I asked my parents to take me to doctor one last time (they were really pissed off after paying a lot of money for consultation last time).
Now my doctor (new doctor) was surprised after he saw my results. He said that my thyroid and Vitamin D levels were really low and he was confused how I was able to endure this for a long time before seeking help (yep, Im fucking up really bad in school atm). He examined my outer body to see if anything was wrong and hopefully nothing was, except my tongue, which looked a little patchy. He said that I should come back in a week to collect my medication and he also gave me vitD supplements.
So my question is:
Hello everyone,
From a very young age I had severe bronchial asthma, leading to the use of asthma inhalers (albuterol) 2-3 times a day. I am not using any other inhalers for therapy since they contain glucocorticoids which are known to reduce bone density, and since many members of my family have or had osteoporosis, I tend to stay away from whatever causes it. I don't have any thyroid gland issues as far as I know. My question is as the title reads: does Albuterol cause any thyroid gland issues with long term use?
Thank you for your time :)
