A list of puns related to "Thyroid disease"

Hello everyone, I am a 26-year-old (black) female who was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in the summer. Iβve been getting treated with methimazole and metoprolol and since then Iβve been feeling great. A couple days ago I noticed I had swelling on the skin above my right eyelid/ below brows, and it has not gone down since then. I thought it was an allergic response to make up so I took Zyrtec but it still has not resolved. I am afraid that it may be Ted. I emailed my endocrinologist so I should hear back from her soon. For now I just need to know what were your first signs and symptoms of Ted and how quickly did it progress. Iβm beyond devastated. I could deal with having a condition where people wouldnβt know I have a condition but when it starts to affect physical appearance this is when just takes a new level of BS
I'm referring to the ones that begin with a disturbing image of a man with severely protruding eyeballs that then tapes his eyes shut.
This goes beyond annoying. No, seriously, WHO THE FUCK IS THIS FOR?! Obviously I sympathize with anyone who suffers from this terrible condition. But do those people really need to see in such graphic detail what they suffer from? This is rhetorical, as the answer is clearly No.
So this leads to my primary objection. THIS COMMERCIAL IS FUCKING DISTURBING TO THE VIEWER FOR NO REASON. It could be traumatizing to children. Could cause fucking nightmares.
To whoever made this: You can't just be fucking stupid. You're inflicting harm on people. Get fucked, bitch.
I have very mild Hashimotoβs symptoms. Dry skin, thyroid that tries to murder me by choking me to death, inability to focus, etc.
Lately, my eyes have been dry and red. I use eye drops twice a day but sometimes that doesnβt improve it. I didnβt think anything of it except when I was visiting my mom (who watches tv with commercialsβwho does that?!), I was bombarded with commercials for Thyroid Eye Disease. Itβs commonly associated with Gravesβ Disease.
Does anyone deal with this?
does anyone else with TED experience puffy cheeks? i've heard about puffy cheeks being part of the disease...anyone else have this problem? any tips to alleviate? i'm thin but have chipmunk cheeks. already in methimazole. tsh was 2.5 and free t4 1.1
My wife developed hyperthyroidism and as such developed thyroid eye disease. She ended up having to get orbital decompression and strabismus surgery. The issue with the strabismus surgery is that the doctor was set to do both eyes. In the recovery room he was like "well, I just wanted to make sure the first eye does ok." No talk about her not being a candidate (obviously because he was going to do both earlier). Afterwards, all he had really recommended is prisms. He closed down his practice sometime later and that was that.
Thyroid eye disease can cause a lot of issues besides misaligned eyes and so she has been seeking doctors that would do more than offer moisturizing eye drops. She still sleeps with her eyes partially open. Finding someone has been nearly impossible. Getting back to her strabismus; seeing as the doctor was originally going to do the surgery, what are the possibilities of finding someone else that would?
I really want to start T but I've decided to put it off for a few years until I'm in a place where I can risk a flare-up without failing out of college. I couldn't find any information about Hashimoto's and T so I was wondering if any of y'all have experienced starting T with thyroid problems.
On the label of prep H it says to ask a doctor before use if you have thyroid disease. I do have thyroid problems (graves) and I'm on methimazole. The problem is that I had a very, very painful hemorrhoid flare up today and want to use prep H. My doctors office is closed so I dunno what to do. Does anyone know if it's okay to use? Maybe just a little bit? I'm dying here, lol
Lab results are in and apparently the excessive weight gain and depression Iβve been experiencing is a symptom of it. With treatment will I lose the weight? Iβm already taking antidepressants so itβs mostly the 50 pounds Iβve gained in a year thatβs bothering meβ¦
AITD was the most frequent coexisting AD and was associated with SSc in 23%, SLE in 17.9%, RA in 21% and MS in 9.1%. Source.
I didn't think much about polyautoimmunity until I was diagnosed with systemic sclerosis.
What are your experiences with polyautoimmunity? I want to know all about polyautoimmunity in people with hypothyroidism.
*edit: polyautoimmunity not polyimmunity
Okay so I always had good health but after a severe adverse reaction to a string medication at age 17 I developed many hormonal issues including high cortisol, high insulin, hypothyroid, severe fatigue, estrogen dominance, weight gain, etcβ¦ (I developed all of this issues overnight and I really believe itβs due to damage to my serotonin system/ liver health/ and other hormonal systems like cortisol)
Recently I decided to go keto but then read itβs bad for my thyroid and since Iβm already struggling a lot with it, I decided to add carbs. Iβve been reading from a lot or nutritionist saying the thyroid needs carbs and I want to do best for my thyroid.
However keto still seems like the best idea for my insulin issues but not good for my thyroid or cortisol problem. Iβm so confused tbh.
Anyone has any ideas about what could an overweight person with hypothyroidism, high insulin and high cortisol could do?
Iβm so confused thereβs so many diets and theories out there
I've been treated for thyroid disease for 20 years. I'm on Synthroid and Cytmol. Recently, I started HRT treatment which includes vaginal estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone. The doctor prescribing the HRT knew I was on medication but did not address it. Anyone here have the same situation? Any changes in your thyroid? I would have gone through my Endocronologist but he was completely dismissive of my perimenopause issues.
