A list of puns related to "Scintigraphy"
Hi everyone,
I am struggling with many symptoms that seems to concord with gastroparesis, after an oesophagal surgery for Achalasia.
I have undergone a gastric emptying scintigraphy recently, but it only lasted for about 1hr30 and the report mentions that they stopped capturing images after the half emptying of my stomach. The report also states that there is a lag, but no more precisions.
Considering this I am wondering and hoping you could answer my questions :
I feel like there is a very high chance for me to have gastroparesis, and I am seeing my specialist tomorrow, and I am really wondering if what we have is enough to make conclusions.
Thank you so much for your answers, take care all!
Did anyone do the scintigraphy to see what could cause the pneumothorax or just to see if the lungs are working properly?
Any experience with hotspots of activity in lungs on the image, with the lung perfusion scint protocol?
Read that it might be albumin/injection artefact. Could it be the pharmacon or the hotlab procedure, we are using pulmocis(MAA) for the record. Want to know how u are doing the procedure by method from hotlabs step to injection and breathing techn, and if u have experienced similar mistakes like this on image quality..any tips?
I'm a 29 year old female, 4' 11" 145lbs. Just got diagnosed with gastroparesis based off of this test after having reflux, fullness, nausea, and constipation for 3-4 years.
I had a GES done last Wednesday, basically I have gastroparesis. I got the radiology report and for the most part I understand it. What is confusing me is are they basing the results off of the total amount of food left in my stomach at the end of the test, or the amount of food that moves out of my stomach each hour? Or are they looking at both results to make a decision?
I'd ask my GI doc but he's totally unresponsive and he doesn't want to answer any questions or talk to me outside of out appointments. My follow up isn't for a month. I tried changing doctors but they told me due to hospital policy I can't.
I was wondering what was more harmfull CT or scintigraphy. I'm in no way related with radiology, yet it got me wondering what is worse, getting bombarded with Xrays or radioactive drug injected in person. As far as I can understand CT is more harmful for prolonged period of exposure and longer waiting time after procedure. Scintigraphy is like using camera with exposure to see how stars move over some period of time. So I want to ask anyone with some deeper knowlage on the subject what is happening during it. I'm not asking for medical advice here, I'm just interested in technology.
The Wiki Article on Iodine 131 notes the following:
>The primary emissions of 131I decay are thus electrons with a maximal energy of 606 keV (89% abundance, others 248β807 keV) and 364 keV gamma rays (81% abundance, others 723 keV).[11] Beta decay also produces an antineutrino, which carries off variable amounts of the beta decay energy. The electrons, due to their high mean energy (190 keV, with typical beta-decay spectra present) have a tissue penetration of 0.6 to 2 mm.[12]
With such shallow tissue penetration, how is a scintillation/gamma camera able to image the high-energy decay particles?
Hi everyone!
I am a senior about to start my final semester of my bachelors degree, and my advisor has recommended I do an independent study related to Nuclear Medicine to prepare me to apply for Nuc Med certificate programs (I am a neuropsychology major). He thinks I should focus on learning how to use some open-source software to read images by SPECT-CT and PET scanners. However, I do not have any experience so far with the field, so I have no idea where to look for software like this or what kind of software I am really even looking for. I personally feel that I should focus on learning about the underlying mathematics, physics, and technology that are used in Nuc Med, because that information is available online and through textbooks.
Does anyone have any ideas about what software would be useful for me to learn?
What topics would you focus on in an independent study course?
Thanks in advance
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Do your worst!
To everyone involved I would love to say, you've captivated thousands with the story you are telling, and which we as subject 4 are part of. The decision to have people involved in the telling of this story is one that more studios/writers should do. Thanks for all that you have created, and still are creating.
Even being 42, every time a new video airs I watch it, and enjoy every minute of it. In my opinion it is very well done and I would love to know how it all pans out in the end.
Now... Syntec seems to have gotten a hold of me with one of their experiments. End of november I started having pain in my neck, just below my ear. Went to the hospital and they did an echo. The painful region got diagnosed as benign, but they saw a nodule on my thyroid, which needed further examination. Classification BIRADS IVb. For this they ordered a scintigraphy of my body. But due to medication I'm taking, they couldn't see anything on the images (contained iodine). After this they needed a punction of the nodule to see what it actually was. The first diagnosis was PTC (Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma). Normally they can operate it quite easily and be done with it. Unfortunately I felt a lump on the same spot that hurt me 2 weeks prior... Another echo was ordered, and now they found 4 nodules on my thyroid, and 4 metastasis in my neck lymphnodes. Diagnosis went from PTC to ATC (Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer) and to remedy this, a full thyroidectomy and full lymphadenectomy is needed with a high dose of chemotherapy afterwards. Unfortunately survivability of this kind of cancer is very low, and I've started to say my goodbyes to close friends and family. On monday I will know if the surgery will be performed or not and I'm sure another echo will be done to check on the growthrate of the cancer.
If on monday the outcome is grim (which I'm almost certain of) my dying wish would be to know how the story ends. I don't want the spell to be broken for anyone, and this is not something made up just to find out more. Medical files can and will be provided if need be. I do accept the fact if nothing can or will be shared about the story of 863, but please let me know if that is the case.
No amount of words can express my feelings atm, other than to say I've lived my life, and have come to peace with what's ahead. If only Syntec or the serums could help me out, that would be great (lol)
If anyone wants to contact me, feel free to do so. Either subjects 1-4, or anyone outside the real

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
But thatβs comparing apples to oranges
And boy are my arms legs.
Heard they've been doing some shady business.
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
