A list of puns related to "The Prince And The Pauper"
In 1991, Motor Trend rated the Nissan 300ZX and Honda NSX #2 and #1 respectively in the top ten sports cars on the market. Twenty-five years later, and a 300ZX with a respectably low 50,000 miles might fetch Β£6k ($10k) on the second hand market. An NSX with the same mileage cannot be had for less than Β£40k ($70k).
Why the enormous difference in price? The cars come from similar manufacturers from the same era. They have just about exactly the same amount of power, and 0-60 times. The NSX is mid engined, which is an impressive trait, but the 300ZX is no technological duffer either: amongst other things, it features the Super HICAS (four wheel steering) system made famous by its bigger brother, the Skyline.
Does anyone else know of any other cars that were considered close rivals at launch, and then took extremely different paths through automative history?
Iβve been thinking about new ways to use flamer bombs and tweaking to consider giving a character the Pauper Princesβ warlord trait (unquestioning loyalty on a 2+) and fearless relic. I doubt this will replace the standard Bladed Cog Magus with Single-Minded Obsession and Mind Control accompanying a flamer bomb that I use but itβs fun to craft. Let me know of youβve tried this and, if so, how it worked for you over a number of games.
Pauper Prince Magus w/ Beloved Grandsire (Mind Control and Psychic Stim could be good with a familiar), Reliquary of Saint Tenndarc and a flamer bomb put within 3β of multiple units, if possible. Your bomb is now fearless and the entire blob has to be killed and your Magus basically has a 2+ FNP and is harder to snipe. On top of that, everytime they kill a flamer or you pass a wound off onto them, they get to flame something on a 4+, so you should get about 10d6 extra shots (avg 40) on any units in range. Or, you force units to move to get out of range, which could help control or force someone off of an objective or force them to move with heavy weapons. If they have to charge the bomb to kill it off, you get Overwatch (or a free interrupt if you use Psy Stim), your normal attacks, and potentially free flamer shots since they are pistols. Or you force them to back out of range and then charge back in, and there is always the potential it fails or they spend a command point on a a re-roll. Assuming you get to fire your flamers at a target on death, the total number of wounds that get through against T4 and T5 is about the same as using Single-Minded Obsession, but they donβt all have to go on a single unit. Or, if you decide to use rending claws when you die, you can re-roll hits if they are getting their cupt creed. So, there are pros and cons. I think taking them in a mixed detachment would work better however.
Another potential pro lies in flexibility with Auspex Scan. If youβre worried most of your flamer bomb will get Auspex scanned into a flamer firecracker, then bring down a unit of brood brothers, followed by your Magus (just in case they want to Auspex a character), then bring down your flamer bomb within 3β. If they Auspex scan you, you could still get flamer shots from half the cultists who die.
I may TRY it, even with different characters, but I donβt think it will replace my usual loadout. Iβm just looking for other ways to use my flamer bomb, beyond kill-a-screen-and-die, like move-blocking and dictating t

I'm new to commander pauper and recently decided to make a Ragnar Pauper deck (after I learned that he counts as an Uncommon instead of a rare) and would love to know a few things:
1- Do any of you currently have a Ragnar Pauper deck I could take a look at?
2-What is the best advice you can give to me when deck building a commander Pauper deck who will be playing it against other normal/casual level decks who are using all commander cards at their disposal?
3-How often do you win games? How often does politics work in you winning Commander Pauper?
4-What suggestions do you recommend for me as not only a new Pauper player but also a new Commander Pauper player?
5-Anything else you want to share with me...please share it!
Thanks for your time and I hope all of you and your family and friends are doing well during this pandemic!
So basically we're all choosing uncommon legendaries as our commanders and I chose Hallar. What I went for was pretty much all the common green and red kick cards that I could find and then filled the rest in with ramp spells and some odd creatures.
Anybody know any cards that could work really well in this deck?
Throughout my 37 days, Iβve never felt more grounded. i felt like a god damn king who didnβt give an ounce of fucks to give and only cared about self improvement both mentally and physically. I took responsibility throughout that phase, lost 8 pounds, meditated , took cold showers, woke up before the sunrise everyday, read for an hour a day and fastest for 20+ hours with OMAD. I definitely noticed more attraction from the opposite side, although it might not be from Nofap necessarily(for those who are against it), the fact that you grab your nuts, get your shit together and discipline yourself from the short term temptations of jacking off to an illusion is WHAT GETS YOUR FUCKING LIFE MOVING!
After I relapsed, everything fell apart, or thats how it felt like for a week at least. Everything went downhill from my motivation to my discipline and the only thing that kept me going was the gym.
Here I am, back on day 5 and I can sense it all coming back, the fucking clarity of a god damn warrior is what Iβm experiencing right now. I feel the urge to talk to and meet new people and thatβs coming from an introvert who was depressed for a whole year. I can talk to anyone at this point!
For all you kings that are reading this, I donβt give a fuck if you believe in Nofap, all I want you to do is give it a go wholeheartedly and commit to this change. You will rise and become the leaders that you were destined to be. No man should waste his life purely existing and seeking short term pleasure.
Live your god damn lives men, seek new experiences for your 80 year old self to remember.
Hey y'all, on April 11th (Saturday) I'm going to be running another charity Magic: the Gathering tournament at the Somerville Public Library. There's a $10 recommended donation for entry, all of which goes towards Oxfam International to fight global poverty!
The format is Pauper, which is all commons (a vastly more affordable way to play the game). And if you're new to the game/format, it's welcoming to newbies...I have free decks available for lending! Good chance to try out the game in person if you've ever been interested. There's also some sweet prizes up for grabs. Hope y'all can make it for a fun afternoon of gaming for a good cause.
You can see all the details on the Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/190403685401836
And if you've got questions about what cards are legal, you can see the official page for the format here: https://magic.wizards.com/en/game-info/gameplay/formats/pauper
This is a screenshot of the last game in the match I just played. The opponent conceded the 1st game, and then failed to finish their infinite combo in time on the 2nd game.
On the League screen, though, it's recorded as a loss for me with a 1-0-1 record: https://imgur.com/BMfXsT1. I thought if a player's match clock ran out, they lost the match, or at least it counted as a loss? Is this a bug or is their something I don't know about the League structure?
This is my third time running this...just a little charity tournament I put on! It's $10 donation for entry, all going towards Oxfam International which fights against the root causes of poverty around the world.
The prize support is a "prize tix" system. Lots of great stuff up for the grabs: limited edition Seb McKinnon playmats you can't get anywhere else, a playset of Antiquities Atogs, and oh yeah, just the classic booster packs and sought-after singles too.
If you or a friend don't have a deck, I also have decks available for lending! It's my little attempt at some welcoming fun to grow the community. Hope y'all can make it. For full details, check the FB event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/535450487030958/
Also, should I "buy into" Pauper right now or just get a tier 1 deck?
I think that it is undeniable that βThe Principal and the Pauperβ is a reflection of the fact that the show had to come up with more absurd ideas because of the huge number of episodes. The humor is just not the same aswell.
However, I do not agree when people say that what they have done to Skinner βis a disrespect to a character that we grew to love among the seasonsβ and that βhe was basically sacrificed in sake of having a plot for an episodeβ. After all, getting all that information about his past adds a lot to the series, making him a more dense and complex character.
I mean, it sounds obvious, but people seem to ignore that the idea of him pretending to be someone else for all that time doesnβt mean that he wasnβt the person we were seeing during all the previous seasons.
The first and third seem to get "beginning of jerkass Homer" hate but Pauper seems to get treated like the day the simpsons died.
I'll be hosting this on Saturday, March 23rd at 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the Medford Public Library. There's a $10 donation for entry, which goes directly to Oxfam International, and generous prize support in booster packs, gift cards, and valuable Magic: the Gathering singles from my own collection (I've been playing for over 20 years, I gotta get rid of this stuff!)
I want to make this event friendly to new players, so don't worry if you're not hardcore into the game! Might wanna read the rules or trying playing for free online with MTG Arena first, but it'll be very noob-friendly. Pauper means "only common cards allowed, no uncommons/rares/mythic." I have competitive decks available for lending if you're new to the format, as well! There's also a random door prize, so you can do well just by showing up.
Hope some of y'all can make it, and have fun while supporting a good cause. The Facebook event page is here.
Pauper used to be one of my favourite game modes, but the entry fee for Historic Pauper has spoilt the fun. The thing I enjoyed most after getting 5 wins would be testing out random jank. I don't mind loosing games with it, but having to pay 500 gold for the privilege is a bit much. It kind of seems as if no-one else wants to play either as the queue times are atrocious. Next time, please can we just have casual pauper?
