Hi! I'm still quite new to these longer-form blog posts, after my recent post on Francoist Spain.

It discusses the Spanish Revolution (1936-37), and particularly focuses on the suppression anarchists faced in their efforts to overcome the state during this intense period of social and political turmoil.
The suppressive forces dicussed are: counterrevolutionary inhibition by Stalinist communists, the process of state reconstruction and (paradoxically!?) anarchist involvement in it, and also the exterminating fascist force of the civil war, which was waging a conquest of ‘annihilation.' (For this last point, the case study of the repression of Seville under deranged General Queipo de Llano is considered.)
