A list of puns related to "Sightedness"
(Sorry for possible mistakes, I'm not so good in English but I try to speak and write in English as often as possible)
Just a thought I had. I know this could be an easy fix if players spawn with glasses, but I just imagine that getting knocked down should be able to knock your glasses off and impair your vision again until you put it back on, which can def be difficult if youβre surrounded by zeds.
Hi
I recently changed glasses prescription from a very slight prescription (0.25 change in one lense only) to one that is as follows in both lenses:
+0.75 | -0.25 | 175
I only ever use my glasses for reading or at a computer screen, and the new glasses definitely help in that regard.
However, when wearing the glasses, anything that's not up close becomes blurry, even just looking at the other side of the room.
I'm finding it hard to figure out if this is 'normal' or not... should I only be wearing these glasses when doing 'up close' activities or should I be able to wear them all the time?
Hi
With Corona i spend even more time on my computer or phone, with isn't good for my eyes. Are there some glasses which simulate the screen to be further away so my eyes are less stressed?
So, having turned 18 a few months ago, I have been thinking of visiting a gay bathhouse while going to any larger city once the covid situation gets better. The thing is - I can't see much without my glasses on and I have never worn any sort of contacts as my optometrist prescribed glasses only (I heard contacts aren't recommended in saunas anyway). It's not a problem for me to see (and have fun with) a person right next to me, but I may have problems with looking around, giving and receiving signs of interest to guys from a distance.
Is the only option to drop the idea of going there and trying visiting places where I can wear my glasses?
And don't tell me vedic people did not need glasses. Bamans started wearing them as soon as the British bought modern medicine to India.
Edit in the title: Far sightedness, not long sightedness. My bad.
My eye doctor told me that if I don't wear glasses all the time or get lasik in one eye, there's a chance that I would develop lazy eye in the future. I'm a 22 year old male, with a power of -2 in my right eye and normal vision in the other. Am seriously considering lasik because I can never really get myself to consistently wear glasses as my vision with glasses on is pretty much identical to my vision without them. Is it a viable option, or necessary? Is the chance of me developing lazy eye in the future significant in this case?
Ive been wearing glasses since i was 9, im 20 now and my degree is very very high im pretty sure im considered legally blind now. Im too poor to afford lasik or that sort of permanent treatment and plus ive been so used to how i look w glasses that i think without i look quite ugly? Anyway, i need tips/exercises on how i can improve my eyesight.
Or at the very least habits that i need to stop or avoid. I use my phone a LOT bc we're in a pandemic i cant go out much and i work a desk job so im staring at the screen 24/7 unfortunately.
Im very worried about my increasing degree :( also i often take off my glasses when i use my phone in bed bc it's more comfortable and idk if it's a good or bad thing.
So I got the Oculus Rift S today and I'm short sighted. Not wearing glasses is normally not a problem, but I got extrem problems with my VR. Everything is blurred and my head and stomach are making problems too. I tried using my glasses, but it gets even worse.
Now I want to know if personalized lenses would help me.
I should note that I used a VR before this (Oculus Rift) and I didn't experienced these problems.
Thanks in advance
According to the NYT:
But the [$1T] measure now faces a potentially rocky and time-consuming path in the House, where the speaker, Nancy Pelosi, and the nearly 100-member Progressive Caucus, have said they will not vote on it unless and until the Senate passes a separate, even more ambitious $3.5 trillion social policy bill this fall.
Is this the right move for Dems, and if so how might this affect their 2022 chances?
βThe planning of Allah swt is better for you than your own planning, and He could deprive you from what you ask to test your patience. So let Him see from you a determined patience and you will soon see from Him what will give you joy. And when you have cleaned the paths of answering from the stains of sins and were patient about what He has chosen for you, then everything that happens to you is better for you whether you were given or deprived of what you have requested.β
Ibn al-Jawzi Ψ±ΨΩ Ω Ψ§ΩΩΩ
Sabr, one of the most praised virtues within the Quran. It's high status and praise-worthiness however comes with a heavy price-tag: it is not easily mastered.
But what exactly is sabr?
Its most common translation is "patience", yet this is too simplistic and crude.
Sabr is more than just patience; it is a beautiful kind of patience; it is perseverance with hope and complete trust and faith within the Decree of Allah (swt).
As Allah (swt) States within the noble Quran:
"So be patient with gracious patience." [Quran, 70:5]
I've a huge fan of the Ferengi. I have BBA in finance, and I would be lying if a small part of me didn't do it out of intrigue for my love of Ferengi. But they seem to be short signed. A good example would in in this powerful, amazing scene with Nog and Sisko. Nog says his Father could be a "chief engineer on a starship" but instead he choose to be a "good ferengi." That never sat right with me. It seems to me that a talented Engineer would make quite a bit of money. They do in our capitalist society. For example, Tony Stark's only real superpower is how good of an engineer he was, but I think Ferengi would appreciate his wealth. He even fucked up his business just for morality (Ferengi would not like) but still was able to keep it wealthy playboy lifestyle. He would probably be a Superhero the Ferengi would like and respect.
Another example is Leck from DS9. As quark says he is "not a typical Ferengi, his priorities are different. " But he isn't hurting for money. A talented assassin is certainly lucrative gig, ESPECIALLY because most ferengi don't want to do it. A bunch of nausicaans raiding a boardroom and killing the Board of a whole company would be noticed, but a single ferengi with a few knives under his vest getting the same job done without anyone noticing would be a serious asset worth a whole lot of money.
I don't think Ferengi's would snub their nose at people like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerburg. These guys did some very "ferengi" things to get their wealth, they all had a pretty heavy understanding of the tech they were dealing with, they had a pretty good understanding of Coding and computers. There is no way they could get where they were without being computer nerds first.
We see the idea of non-sales ferengi in Early TNG episodes before the revamped them. The Ferengi military is basically a just privateers, apparently. They make their money by fighting. Even Marauder Mo! We don't know much about Mo, but the hints from the series would lead us to believe it wasn't a cartoon about a ferengi trading products. He has a whip. He was making money, of that I have no doubt, but he was doing it by being a warrior, not a business man. And this was popular enough among Ferengi adolescent boys to make the Action figures collectors items.
Whats that all about? It seems like the Ferengi frown upon any method of making money that isn't directly related to selling a
... keep reading on reddit β‘So I'd been to an optometrist and got glasses. I still can't see in the hallway. Say someone is walking down the hall and waving at me, I can't recognize their faces and who they are. People are thinking I am ignoring them, being rude or something. I also have a problem reading small letters, but I use reading glasses 1 power.
So glasses I got from the clinic were for nearsightedness and farsightedness at the same time., but they're bifocal, so really hard to use as reading glasses, I have to lift up the glasses to be able to read.
What do I do now? Should I go to a different OD? Can Laser surgery cure the problem, and am I eligible for it?
Are there any online optical shops that can make me a pair of glasses, if I know my prescription?
I was also looking to buy some locally, but prices are generally β¬130+. I'm not sure if there are any shops that can do cheaper.
Can you tell me which idols have a high myopia? I am talking about -5 and more not just - 3 or - 2.5.
Haven't played this in about four years and started again yesterday. Memory's a little lacking.
First hour of the game? Felt so stuck at, of all places, the freakin' Great Plateau.
I see all four shrines from the tower, already did the first two, but the other two are in the cold mountains. I repeatedly chickened out of going there cause I took cold damage, so I gave up and assumed there were two other ones in safer places I couldn't see. I spent too long looking for them.
Was feeling ballsy today and said, "Screw it, I'm stuck. I'll just freeze to death."
And it wasn't that bad. I had more than enough shrooms to make it to the Stasis trial. Oh, and the in-game shrooms kept me alive too.
It really wasn't that bad. For a minute, I felt proud of them for breaking such a common gaming trope that you shouldn't go somewhere if you aren't invulnerable to most of your environment. That felt like a life lesson.
And then I looked at the cliff after I finished the trial.
And then I saw the cliff hangers that let you rest after climbing.
And then I screamed.
I appreciate that they also considered people like me who actually thought eating four-course meals while sprinting up Death Mountain was the only way to get there. I don't think I'm very perceptive. :(
Edit: Fffffuuuuuuuuuck you can chop down the trees to cross the gaaaaaaaap
It occurred to me that while Shigaraki isnβt wrong about the shortcomings of hero society(quirk discrimination and glorification of Heroes, to name a few), his method of mass destruction only seems like it exacerbates the issues he intends to destroy. We see civilians taking up arms against the villains, rejecting the help of heroes.
The current society resembles what it looked like in AFOβs reign, just with AFO not continuing his trading quirks business, since everyone knows about him now(except for Nagant and any villains he sends after Deku).
It seems like he has continued the Hero-Villain cycle like his Master, he hasnβt destroyed it like wished to. I wonder how Shigaraki would feel if he comes to this realisation. Would he further push his destructive efforts against everyone? (Assuming he healed from his injuries and he has reached full power) Of course these new vigilantes wonβt be of much help against him. If he kills everyone that opposes him, maybe even his own allies could turn on him, and heβd likely kill them.
Assuming no one in the world could stop him, not even Deku, heβd probably destroy everything that irritated him, as per what he said to Garaki. What would Shigaraki do when heβs run out of things to destroy, what would he do when heβs lost his purpose?
Anatomically and physiologically, the Ferengi may have some issues with their vision.
This is hinted at by their large ears and the shape of their nose.
It is possible that these features serve the same purpose that it serves in bats, which is to channel sound waves to their ears. This may indicate some form of echolocation or SONAR, presumably to make up for a species' - at least partial - blindness.
I speculate that one of the causes of this blindness is oo-mox, as it is analogous to certain activities in humans of which - in old wives' tales - causes blindness.
Since the Ferengi are known to have travelled back in time to historical Earth, and while there and then been studied by at least some medical workers, it suggests the possibility that the truth to this superstitious belief originates from encounters with the Ferengi.
In summary, oo-mox may have led to the short-sightedness (or near-sightedness) of the Ferengi.
Muhammad most successful narcist in the history of the world. I think this person actually existed and billions worship him and swear by him as their last words before they die. Goddamn I admire how successfully narcist this guy is. None comes close. Even Westerners say he's the most influential historical figure in the world even before Christ(which is more of a legend than an actual person). Too bad the influence ultimately wasn't a positive one and Muslims are still stuck 1000 years behind the rest of the world. Meanwhile the West adopted our best Muslim philosopher Averroes(Ibn Rushd) and literally based their Renaissance on his philosophy while we takfired him for saying "truth cannot contradict truth" lmao. The dude even threw us a bone and told us he believed in God. He said the brain is the essence even before God. And that brain made me believe in God. WE TAKFIRED HIM FOR THIS. Tragic and excuse my low effort non-academic rant.
