A list of puns related to "Sgraffito"
I like to do a lot of carved details on my pottery and also love sgraffito. Now I wanna try out a bunch of different tools to see what works best for me. Please share your favourite tools with me and tell me why you like them best!
Iβm watching The Great Pottery Throw Down from 2020 (so many questions, so little time π) and theyβve just brought up βsgraffitoβ which, as with every technique mentioned, I duly googled, and it looks like an art exercise I remember doing in the infants.
Weβd scribble coloured crayons all over sugar paper (usually in a pseudo rainbow π pattern) filling the sheet, go over it all in black crayon, then use a blunt needle to scratch out a design.
I remember doing fireworks and flowers. However, I donβt remember what it was called, but Sgraffito is definitely a new term for me.
I'm making a floral design. I want it to be mostly black and white, but with a few colourful accents. I was imagining doing the sgraffito, bisque firing it, the adding coloured accents of underglaze on top. Would that work? Would there be a better way?
hey everyone! iβve gotten into sgraffito on my pots lately and have been using colored slip before carving out designs. i was just wondering if there is any difference between using a colored slip and using an underglaze? do either of them work better or worse in this application? iβm having a hard time finding opinions online.
thanks for your help!
