A list of puns related to "Saurophaganax"
Hello im a complete noob when it comes to dinossur knowledge so i was wondering. Why does Saurophaganax come up in almost every debate where allosaurus is mentioned?
So, with the reveal of the Lost Island map, I thought of another possible dinosaur.
Reality:
Saurophaganax ("lord of lizard-eaters") is a genus of large allosaurid dinosaur from the Morrison Formation of Late Jurassic (latest Kimmeridgian age, about 151 million years ago) Oklahoma, United States. Some paleontologists consider it to be a junior synonym and species of Allosaurus (as A. maximus). Saurophaganax represents a very large Morrison allosaurid characterized by horizontal laminae at the bases of the dorsal neural spines above the transverse processes, and "meat-chopper" chevrons. The maximum size of S. maximus has been estimated at anywhere from 10.5 meters (34 ft) to 13 meters (43 ft) in length, and 3 metric tons (3.3 short tons) to 4.5 metric tons (5.0 short tons) in weight.
Game:
The Saurophaganax is like Allosaurus, but bigger and stronger. Itβs a late game tame, itβs preferred taming foods are mutton, prime meat and extraordinary kibble.
Once tamed, itβs good at farming hide and keratin. It hasnβt got great speed, itβs staminaβs mediocre, but it excels incredibly at health and attack. It also has a rose ability capable of scaring off anything up to Carno levels.
The roar will also lower the attack of dinosaurs up to Giganotosaurus size. Meaning that this dinosaur will be useful in raids by lowering weakening enemy dinosaurs.
It has a normal bite ability (RT on Xbox) but if you hold down RT then click LT, you can bite and hold onto enemy dinosaurs.
First of all, this would be badass, grabbing a Rex by the the neck and attempting to rag doll it. Adding to this ability, on top of the initial damage you do with the bite, you do chip damage by moving around your Saurophaganax while holding onto your target. And you do massive damage by pressing A and throwing the target.
I think this would be a cool dinosaur, and the extra mechanic would be fun to use.
Saurophaganax a carnivore that a little bigger than the rex and alot stronger and a little stronger than a megalosaur and as fast as a raptor

Change my mind.
I see many people on both sides . "Its a unique species!" , "Its an allosaurus sp.!" . I'm just curious as to what the most likely/agreed on answer is right now .
