A list of puns related to "Sacroiliac Joint"
First of all, Iβm undiagnosed hypermobile with frequent joint hyper extension injuries but, as far as Iβm aware, no actual joint dislocations. So may not βqualifyβ for hEDS but this sub is more active than the Hypermobility one.
Iβm having recurring issues with what I believe is my SI joint. Every couple of months I feel a small βpopβ and then have terrible pain for days.
The most recent occurrence was very different. I bent down to retrieve something and felt something in that same location very forcefully push outwards (toward my back) and quickly snap back. It hurt like hell and I nearly wet myself.
Iβm finally booked in with a Dr in a few weeks to get to the bottom of all the issues my hypermobility is causing as everything is just getting worse (yay middle age!)
Wondering if anyone has experienced this? Everything on Google tells me itβs the SI joint but also seems to suggest that itβs near impossible to have a dislocation of it. So Iβm not sure what happened.
Remember in grade school we had those uncomfortable desks? And if you slid down in them (often placing your feet on the rack of the desk in front of you), you would get your lower back/sacrum/tailbone area to crack...
I do this now in my office chairs. I slide to the edge of my seat so it feels like my butt is hanging off the end. I arch my low back so most of the weight gets shifted to that area. These are the most satisfying cracks Iβve had.
Anyone else do this? Anyone know which joints these are? It feels like it pops on both sides of the sacrum, so I thought maybe the sacroiliac joints...
If so, what helps you? We thought it was my lower back again but it turns out it was my right joint acting up. Have narrowed down the problem and begun PT. Wanted to hear from anyone else who suffers from this
Been dealing with this for past 4 years 26M. No history of injury and nothing I can pinpoint the pain to. Seen numerous specialists who confirmed it is my sacroiliac joint although they do not know exactly whatβs wrong as no MRI or X-rays have been done. My physical therapist has me do stretches which I donβt know if they do anything to help, and some days Iβll wake up almost unable to walk or move around as the pain also goes to my groin. That is when the pain is 10/10, as I type this only my sacroiliac joint hurts and itβs about a 6/10. Some days I wake up and feel great for several days at a time, other days I wake up and can barely walk without pain.
Iβm a young guy who just got my own insurance, itβs a high deductible plan and donβt have a ton of money to pay for physical therapy appointments and everything else Iβll have to do to fix this issue. I have my appt today and not sure what to do anymore. Any advice welcomed
Hi there, guys.
I've suffered from lower back pain for a long time, and my back first "went" when I was 18, I'm now 25.
My mum suffers from back pain and referred me to her osteopath, he sorted my back at the time, diagnosed me with sacroiliac joint dysfunction and encouraged multiple appointments, they did help a lot but at Β£35 a session this was near enough impossible to continue habitually. I've tried acupuncture as well but that did little other than make me itch.
My back full-scale "goes" maybe once every year and a bit. This leaves me unable to walk unless bent at a 90 degree angle, I get dull pains down my thighs and my buttocks go into spasm. After alternating between paracetamol and ibuprofen for a few hours it eases.
Day to day I struggle with repetitive lifting activities which is difficult in bar work. I suffer from twinges, pain and general sensitivity most days. I've started getting pains only comparable to someone hammering knitting needles into my hip bones recently, and my legs "click" at my hip joints regularly now too. I'm rather certain I have an old coccyx fracture as well.
My osteopath helped a lot and gave me exercises to help when the pain acts up but they're only short term fixes. I'm concerned about going to my doctor as I don't want to waste their time, especially due to the pandemic and current great stress on the NHS.
Are there any permanent cures? Would it be ok to go my GP and ask for an X-Ray? My pain impacts me every day in some way and is really getting me down.
Thanks for reading, I'm so inarticulate in getting my points across in stories and hope this wasn't too convoluted!
I have had back pain on and off for years but this has been the longest continuous run of it. Since July 2020 I have had pain that seems to switch, one day itβs the sacroiliac on the left side (if you put hand on hip itβs where your thumb is) then itβs lower left on the spine (where if you put your arm behind your back, parallel to the floor in that region) walking can sometimes feel like left leg is longer, but not always. Back feels tense all the time. The area of pain can switch during the day. Usually itβs better first thing in the morning.
Is there a muscle that could cause this? I was thinking maybe the Psoas but I have no idea what to do.
Have seen a chiropractor, oesteopath, 2 NHS physios, and a PNF stretching guy. The PNF stretching seems to help but only for a short time. Cracking joints at the chiroβ or osteopath sometimes makes it better, sometimes worse. MRI and blood tests said itβs not an inflammatory disease.
Waiting to see another NHS physio next month but thought Iβd ask the minds of Reddit.
Anyone have similar sypmtoms? Itβs really doing my head in. Ibuprofen and paracetamol donβt really stop the pain.
Hello guys, I am a PT and need some help.
I have trouble dealing with non-traumatic/non pregnancy related/not referred sacroiliac joint pain. Chronic patients with localized sacroiliac joint pain at the end of the day mainly. All these patients seem to follow a similar pattern but my colleagues and I are not able to reproduce this pain with any test and I'm clueless.
I already know and have tried the typical stretching movements and motor control exercises, some spine and lower extremity adjustments, and pain education. It wasn't a great success...
Any good source of information, book, course?
Thanks a lot!
Hello from Finland
In short,
I'm 49 years old dad and I have had this SI-joint pain since I was 17 years old. It mostly gives me pains throughout my spine, but the biggest problem comes from when my back of the neck throws a tantrum and gives me a migrane.
Recently I have been looking to spinal activations and found the Spinecare Decompression and Chiropractic Center YouTube channel.
https://youtube.com/channel/UC2lvPVVm0Mv53QK7vdnC-rw
The neck to tailbone tracktion pull video are what I liked the most. https://youtu.be/GYOnRXlU-CY
This gives me a sensation of what hurts this time.
Today I begun my morning with a walk and a sort of dance. The dance is where I twist my body as much as I can. This is very funny to me, but I get motion on my hips with it. And I look like a fool, because a dad in a woollen shirt is dancing almost like belly dancing.
Okay, I hope you liked my story, and I will write more about the ongoings.
Have any of you mysteriously threw out there lower backs? Crying from the pain hasnβt helped either, seems to make all my cracking joints worse.
Are you using the Cibulka cluster, the Laslett pain provocation cluster or a combination of both? Also, what is currently being taught in school.
My lower back is messing up my entire life. I spent last weekend in bed because I hurt like hell if I did anything except lie down. Iβve been wearing a corset for a couple of hours a day but the it still hurts.
I learned not to stretch which is so counterintuitive. But is there anything I can do for the pain? Massage? Soaking?
I've been dealing with odd symptoms from the lower back extending all the way to the feet for over a month now. It all started when I noticed I couldn't sit on usual chairs without pretty bad pain in the butt(almost as if something was pushing the tailbone and butt down), then what I can only describe as rectal numbness started occurring, not complete numbness but sort of like when I move the muscles around the rectum it's noticeably weaker, and lately I'll get a cold or liquid sensation from the rectum when there's nothing there. Lastly, shooting, burning, but non-severe pains started showing up from my groin and pelvic area all the way down both legs, along with just general feet/leg discomfort, as if the bones in my feet feel more prevalent while walking now. And all these symptoms are what I have now.
That's what I've been dealing with in general, but whatever this is seems to manifest itself randomly at different points, like today I've had this dull nagging sensation on the side of the buttocks from the left.
Had a lumbar MRI that only showed minimal bulging disc(L5-S1). From my understanding, it's probably not what's causing all of this. Could it be Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction? And yes, I will see more specialists about it, but it'll take a bit of time to get to that and I'm looking for some more context on what this could be until then. Any replies would be much appreciated.
Worth noting: Male, 24, was slightly overweight but have gone through significant weight loss since around October due to gastritis and am on Nexium, and due to certain conditions I had to sit on a pretty rough surface for 5-10 minutes almost daily leading up to these issues which may or may not have contributed.
Hey guys,
thanks to being circumcised, I was used to masturbate/have sex with heavy tensing of my pelvic floor. Currently when I have sex, I last at least 1h because my pelvic floor gets so tense that I can't spasm to reach orgasm.
Anyways, I got a inflammation going in my sacroiliac joint (basically the joint which connects the spine to the hip). I have read that the PC muscle is connected to the SJ and it may cause pain. Has anyone experience with this?
So yeah chronic pain day in and day out, and it's spreading up my back. Any pain management tips?
Iβm a 23 yo F and I finally got approved for surgery after 3 years of going through immense pain, immobilities, pain management, heavy medications which led to addiction, anxiety, depression, injections, therapy (physical, mental) and ablation... Iβm very pleased with the conversation I had with my surgeon. Iβm looking forward to this surgery and I know that itβs not a %100 fix and I may have to have revision(s); I have been at a point where surgery tops all other options for a while now so my mind is set on this.
Iβd like to know if anyone has ever been diagnosed with SI Joint Dysfunction and what led to it? And what did you do about it? How old were you? How did your recovery time go? How are you doing now???
Hey, I have shortened hamstrings is it possible that they cause pain in my sacroiliac joint? Are there any other muscles that could affect my sacroiliac joint? Prepping for a meet and this problem holds me back... I need to fix that.
Has anyone had the CornerLoc procedure done in their SI joints?
My pain in my SI joints is so so bad and the injections and rhizotomys I get are very hit or miss. Sometimes they help but the pain comes right back as soon as the SI joint is aggravated again, and the pain is increasingly worse each time.
My doctor mentioned I would be a great candidate for the CornerLoc, and Iβm curious if any of yβall have had it done and what your experiences have been!
Hereβs a link on what it is, and the first video on the page is very informative, if any of yβall are interested or also have unrelenting SI joint pain or Sacrolitis:

Im a 17 year old male and a few days ago I noticed one of my sacroiliac joints is a little bigger than the other. Is this normal? What does it mean?
My sacrum has been bothering me for years and has finally come to a point where I'm going to urgent care when they open in a few hours. My best guess thanks to Dr Google is sacroiliac joint something or other. Degenerative arthritis was the major cause, but can fibro mess with the ligaments and cause this pain? It's immune to pretty much all nsaids. It took 5 aleve, TENS sessions, heat, and stretching to just be able to reach the kitchen and eat dinner. It's okay if my spine is neutral or I'm flat on my back. It does not get better with movement. Starts kind of at the booty crack area and radiates to my hips, groin, and my knees.
Anyone else have SI problems? Does it kind of sound like this? Thanks guys!!
Yo y o y o. I have SI joint dysfunction in my right SI joint from doing physical labor and bending over for hours at a time. Iβm looking for a solid strength training routine that will limit SI aggravation (and strength the muscles around the joint). I know this is a physical therapist question, and Iβve been once for the issue, but donβt have enough money to go now due to COVID. If anyone who has a good grip on the human body has any ideas, shoot! Thanks!
I have been having pain in my tailbone area. It started around my 9th or 10th week in. I read that this is usually common around your 18th week. It pains when I walk and if I happen to lie on my back (which I try to avoid) it feels almost like something is dislocated!
Anyone else go through this? Any relief suggestions?
Iβm 22 weeks and for the last two weeks or so have been having terrible SI pain. I did get it from time to time pre-pregnancy if I strained my back, but not this bad or for this long. By the end of the day itβs incredibly painful to get up off the couch, put socks or pants on, or even move my legs while laying on my back in bed. Sharp intense pains and a constant ache on top of it.
I am on my feet quite a bit during the day.
I have my next prenatal appointment on Tuesday, but depending what the doctor thinks in regards to a referral, no physical therapists or chiropractors are operating here due to Covid.
Does anyone have any solutions, stretches, anything I can try?
How do yβall manage SI joint instability? I know the exercises to get it back in place, but they pop right back out when I move. This is a new/worsening problem, and itβs really starting to affect my ability to function
Anyone sometimes feel like maybe your disc is healing/healed but you are experiencing joint pain? Sometimes I feel like this is whatβs happening for me but I canβt tell.
