With the flop and cancellation of Netflix's adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, people are emphasizing that that 'live-action adaptations of anime (not just Cowboy Bebop, but anime in general) can never be done well, and are impossible to do'.

But, there have been others who chime that 'the live-action Rurouni Kenshin movies is the example of live-action adaptations of anime done right', and that its dual praise as both adaptation and as movie prove that it is indeed possible to accomplish for both fans and a fresh audience.

Cowboy Bebop fans, what do you think?

If you agree that the live-action RK movies are good adaptations, and what a good live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop would play out like.

If you completely disagree that the live-action RK movies aren't good adaptations of their source material whatsoever, and that there still isn't (and likely can never be) a good live-action adaptation of anime, let alone the anime that is Cowboy Bebop.

I'm back and this time I'm not actually going off of pointless hopeless predictions about a remake that'll never happen (my prayers have finally been answered).

I'm a bit bummed that the studio behind it isn't any of the ones I had in mind (Ufotable or MAPPA), and they're far worse since they're the ones behind Tokyo Revengers & Berserk 2016 which is honestly a bad sign, but I'll have faith.

Now, I would love a faithful adaptation, but I would also understand (and prefer) a "few" liberties taken for Tokyo & Jinchu.

Hopefully they split the whole thing into 3 seasons (2-cour per season) + 1 movie for Remembrance/Reminiscence.

Season 1: 24-26 episodes ㅡ 1st cour covers the Tokyo arc. ㅡ 2nd cour covers Departure (May 14th/Saito arc) + Road to Kyoto.

Season 2: 24-26 episodes ㅡ entire season covers the Kyoto arc.

Movie: 120-140 minutes ㅡ covers the Remembrance arc.

Season 3: 24-26 episodes ㅡ covers the entire Jinchu arc.

That sounds perfect and would cover the whole manga without skipping over anything.
