Just watched through the mighty ducks movies and it reignited my desire to play hockey. I played roller hockey as a kid up through high school. It looks like there's a couple roller hockey leagues in North Austin, but nothing down South. Anyone know of anything? I'm not looking for anything too serious. I would even be down for some street/basketball court hockey if there's a good surface somewhere to play on!
I'm 16 and recently found hockey and it's probably my new favorite thing but having nowhere to ice skate (except winter) and no experience with it I found myself wanting to get into roller hockey. 1 big issue... I can't find much around me for that either... Love the South. Any tips on learning solo from scratch? Any decent priced companies to look for or stay away from when buying sticks or skates?
Iβve seen outdoor roller hockey rinks with tiles on peopleβs pages but i canβt seem to figure out where itβs at so iβm all ears!
Hi Charlotte Potentially moving to waxhaw area from NY, did some searching for roller hockey in and around charlotte, couldnt find anything Does anybody know of any adult leagues?? Thanks in advance
The Devils sued in 1994 to keep the Rockin' Rollers out of their arena (then-named Brendan Byrne until 1996), but the NJ state superior court ruled that roller hockey and ice hockey are distinct enough sports that the two could coexist without breach of lease. As a result, Jim Hughes was coaching a roller hockey team in our barn when we won our first Stanley Cup in '95.

Hey, Im in my 30s and looking to start playing hockey again after a 15 year or so hiatus. If anyone happens to need a rusty goalie please message me. Thanks!
Recently moved to fairfax. Are there any outdoor roller hockey rinks with in 30 min of fairfax?
Just trying to shoot a puck around, and not trying to rip up the tennis court near me :P

Buenas,

Does anyone remember the name or have photos of the old roller rink on Walden ave, where Walmart and Wendyβs is now, before carpet castle I believe? I remember watching my uncle play goalie there when I was way young but donβt remember the name and canβt remember what it looked like - thanks
In my hometown we are trying to get a roller skate rink off the ground. We do have a big ice hockey rink and even 400m ice skating rink. I was wondering if anybody knows if there was a successful to convert these type of rinks into a roller skating area off-season?
Got a new pair of rollers for Christmas but have no where to play outside, are there any outdoor roller rinks at any parks?
Curious if anyone here plays or knows anyone who plays roller hockey at the rinks in Ernie Sheldon park near Winco? The rinks look super nice and I havenβt played roller in years. Are there any pick up games or anyone who just goes to skate and shoot?
For you roller hockey folks. What helmet do you use? Getting back into it after 7 years of being off the rink and in the market to buy all new gear.
Which American city is the most roller hockey friendly? I know St. Louis and Chicago has quite a few optionsβ¦
Inline / roller hockey team playing out of Nor-Cal Inline looking to add a few experienced members.
We're all 30-somethings playing in the Silver league (technically "intermediate", but most of us overlap and play in Gold as well). Been together as a team for almost 10 seasons but lost a few members this season who've relocated.
Looking for a few additional skaters (and ALWAYS on the look out for a good goalie) to round out our team. We're pretty laid back, but looking for upper-intermediate / advanced folks due to the general pace of competition. Games are Wednesday nights, between 6 and 10 pm depending.
PM me if you're interested for more info.
Both in-line and quad skates could join!! All experience levels accepted (Iβm new to this but very enthusiastic)
Anybody know of any parks or facilities that have roller hockey rinks? I moved here from the west coast and am used to seeing some parks that have them but google searches havenβt been helping me
Drop in roller hockey in Warwick NY at the Town Park Sunday November 7 at 2.30 pm. We welcome males and females 18 and up. ALL skill levels welcome! If you love hockey and want to join us we think you will find a home with us - Orange Countyβs fastest growing roller hockey organization. If you have questions feel free to ask! Hope to see you at the rink!
Any pointers where I can find (chill) pickup roller-hockey games? Iβm 41 and my bones are made of glass.
It's cheaper, can be played anywhere, at any time of year. Weather is getting warmer, ice will be more rare in the coming decades. It's much cheaper than ice, any kid with rollerblades can play.
I've only seen a few games and played about as much. I wish more contact was allowed. What else is holding roller hockey back? Why don't people play?
I am looking for people that want to create a roller hockey team for George mason. I am currently a part of the roller hockey for another school, but I am transferring to George Mason next semester. Would anyone be interested?
My rollerblades have been sitting under my bed for too long and I'm ready to skate. Please don't mention ice rinks. Ice hockey is too expensive for me.
Hey all, I'm visiting St Louis from DC for the holidays the next two weeks. What are good pick-up inline options in the area? I see lots of league play but nothing on drop-in hockey.
Also saw some older threads on this but not sure if theyβre still relevant. Thanks!
Hockey is not popular in my state so it should be obvious the closest ice skating ring is over 5 hours way.
So I'm gonna start on roller skating so I can play street hockey. That said will knowing how to handle myself on roller skates help when I eventually start learning ice skating as I transition to ice hockey in the future?
Salutations fellow Squid Squad. I am reaching out today to see if anyone knows any outdoor rinks or pickup groups for Roller Hockey around the South Sound (letβs say, Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, etc)?
I know there is a rink at Battle Point Park on Bainbridge but the only league they have is for kiddos (which is awesome) but I havenβt seen anything aimed at older folks, like me. Iβve scoured local Reddit but to no avail but now that we have our own team, it seems like a great time to bust out the skates and hit the street (or court, or rink). Iβd even be down to hit up Bainbridge on the weekends when the Long Dark ends, or maybe even on those rare nice Saturdays.
Thanks in advance and Iβm so happy to have a hometown NHL team!

I recently moved here about a year ago from the south and find it pretty sweet that you have outdoor hockey rinks here (among other amazing things, of course). I played hockey for a number of years (goalie and then moved to left wing once I stopped growing lmao) and the weather/my love for watching the Blues disappoint me is making me want to get back into it.
Are there any good hockey groups out there? I imagine itβs mostly just show up and play but curious of whatβs out there. I live in Maplewood
