Isabella is certainly a very colourful character but her relationship with Mortimer is kind of astonishing to me, I hope I'm not overselling how sure we can be about whether or not they were really lovers but she essentially ruled the country with him for years after disposing of Edward II, during which time she was technically a widow and it was surely known that their relationship had gone back well before Edward had died and began when she had irrevocably rifted with her husband. When Edward III overthrew them Isabella is alleged to have desperately begged for Mortimer's life, which sounds like the behavior of a lover.
Considering that Isabella was a queen and Mortimer was already married with a wife through all of this, surely this kind of behavior and the flagrancy they conducted it would have been absolutely shocking to society of the day? I know that Edward II had an miserable reputation but surely there were rigid expectations of how a wife and queen should conduct herself regardless? I mean Isabella herself had instigated the notorious Tour de Nesle affair back in France which ruined the lives of her sisters in law, so surely that showed how high risk this kind of behaviour was? What would the reaction have been if she had gotten pregnant by Mortimer after Edward's deposition for example?

3 years later she was working to drop the aussie accent, she scored a part in Scream 2 (97 release) and the voice was still a bit iffy lol

I have no real interest in fishing but something about it is so comforting to the soul. I usually get wet eyes at some point while watching when they express some feeling or reflection that just exactly sums up something I’ve been trying to put my finger on.
