Breaking news: Scientists have invented the world's first MP3 player for octopi

The device will help researchers study how octopi learn, and may even lead to a breakthrough in artificial intelligence.

The research team at the University of California, San Diego has created an MP3 player that uses sound waves to transmit music into the water, where it can be heard by the eight-armed cephalopods. They say they are excited about this new technology because it could open doors for more effective studies on learning and memory.

When asked for comment, the head researcher said "We're not sure if we'll see any practical applications from our work yet, but I think there's no doubt that the future is bright."

The device was recently tested with one of the world's most intelligent octopi, Octavius, who immediately recognized his favorite song and began tapping out a beat with his tentacles as soon as he saw it. When asked what he thought about the new invention, Octavius replied, "It sounds great! I love my new Cephalo-iPod!"
