A list of puns related to "Radio Frequency"
Hey everyone, I'm a relevantly new ham here so sorry if this has been asked before, but I was curious what people keep on their radios when they are not active in a conversation, or just in stand by. I have a dual time slot radio so I keep my main channel to a local repeater, but the other I leave on the national simplex line, is this silly or is there a better combination to keep it at? I know most of this is 100% going to be subjective to each person and their location as the number of repeaters you'll want to listen to will change because if that. l drive near many freeways but have yet to have anyone respond on the simplex line, but assumed it may be useful still to monitor?
I only have a mobile radio at the moment, but I'd pose the same question for ht's as well. My assumptions with that will be many would use their scan functions more. Thanks for your time and thoughts, I'd love to hear what everyone else does.
During the Ultimate Race β specifically while navigating the Cliffside Realm β Gelorum turns to Vert and says "You cannot defeat me human β I have the accelechargers". Moments later, Vert says "I don't need accelechargers" and does his wacky jump to skip a big chunk of the track. Now, narratively this makes sense as a fun/snarky moment between the characters and to foreshadow the end of the race ("you used the accelechargers to complete the realms; the other driver used his own skills").
However, from an in-universe viewpoint, this must mean that either:
They weren't talking to each other, and Gelorum β a robot designed for the sole purpose of driving β was essentially talking to herself (itself?), going so far as to take her eyes off the road to make a snarky comment, and Vert just happened to say something moments later that works as a snarky comeback.
They had somehow previously agreed on a specific radio frequency to make witty comments at each other during the race. If this is the case then it opens the possibility of other instances of trash-talk like a reprise of "let's see how well you drive β in half a car" in the Storm Realm, (which incidentally brings up the same question except for during the World Race), "hey isn't that where you crashed your last car?" during the surface portion of the Water Realm, and "hey remember when you got your leg crushed by that golem lmao" while driving through the Ruins Realm.
I thought I would share a discovery that some ASI e-stop push buttons from PepperL+Fuchs may be vulnerable to RF waves. Specifically Part number 192437. When active radios or blue tooth devices are near it would shut down the circuit that the affected e-stop was connected to. This would force us to power cycle the gateway. We ended up swapping to e-stops from another company. I hope this helps someone out.
I am looking for a course material that will help me build a foundation in this field, help me understand day to day use and application of radio waves. I have tried looking through top hit websites on microwave and radio frequency but it would be really helpful if I can get nicely stitched course series.
If I set my radio to 90 MHz, I think the frequency of the signal must vary around that frequency to carry information. Don't the 90 MHz and 89.9 MHz signals mix because of this variation? Or are they confined to a narrow band?

The cartoon I am looking for:
Featured the character(s) at either the beginning or end of the episode radioing different frequencies, possibly trying to find someone to help or save them? I believe they had a specific phrase each time they tried to radio someone.
Possibly featured puppetry (75% sure it did), but I think only puppets, not a mixture of puppets and normal people.
Had a sci-fi sort of feeling.
Aired in the 90's or 00's, likely for only 1 or 2 seasons.
Possibly Canadian or British exclusive programming, likely ran on either YTV or Teletoon.
My google-fu has had no luck at all, thought I'd ask you fine people for help.
I don't get how I could find the frequency of some radio controller (not really common one) and listen on it using the hackRF. Any hints?
I hate the fact that now you have to install SAMS on your base to defend against airstrikes. I feel its such a cheap way to get kills and now you can't fly anywhere without being shot down.
It would certainly help if the MLRS sent a radio signal upon use so you could wire it to activate your SAMS via a rf receiver and timer for example. Then people wouldn't feel the need to have SAMs o n 24/7
"ATC telephone this is Reddit User idonthavemoney"...?
What happens if two bots have the same frequency during a fight? How do the builders avoid this?
I've gotten into radio lately and I've been wondering if there's any wierd radio stations like number stations or stations playing strange sounds. Comment the frequency and add what it broadcasts.
Thank you. This will help me do something when I'm board.
Did it help tighten your face? Did it cause facial fat loss? Did it help at all?
I get that AM carries info by creating a sound wave with the contours of a (given frequency) wave's amplitude. But if you modulate 93.7MHz, then it's no longer 93.7. What am I not getting?
Tuesday I had my ablation procedure and these are my thoughts.
Curse them for playing Pandora in the procedure room, I was killed by Whamageddon! Seriously I was on the winning track this year.
The mild sedation I got (fentynal and another drug) made it comfortable enough for me. I didn't notice the needles going in and the shocks to my nerves weren't too bad.
I should have worn different leggings. The ones I wore were high waisted and I little tighter than I normally wear; next time I'll wear my "fat pants".
The drugs lasted for quite some time, over 6 hours from the procedure and wjen they did wear off the pain was REAL!
I should have invested in a large ice pack. Even at nearly 36 hrs out I can feel the swelling at the needle sight and I am hurting. The pain has spread to my pelvis and up my back and they warned me it probably would happen.
It can take 3 weeks for the full effectiveness to be felt so I'm gonna cross my fingers take some tylenol and maybe an edible or two over the coming weeks and hope for the best.
Can we have a radio with frequencies we can change, to encourage teaming up and communicating without letting the whole world know what I am saying?
Just booked this job and leaving on February 22nd. Wanted to know more about what the job entails among other duties.
hey so this is my first post here but probably the first of many. iβm 21F and have been dealing with a chronic illness for almost 10 years now, i have very severe endometriosis (in the process of continuing to deal with it, finding a new specialist after my old specialist belittled me in front of my mother after my 4th brutal endo surgery in as many years) anyway, having very poorly managed endo for 9 years ended up causing me severe issues with my muscles in my abdomen, especially my back. my muscles are so messed up and have actually pulled my spine straight.
i have extremely debilitating back pain and have for over two years now (alongside my endo related pelvic and chest pain) my last endo surgery was in may 2021, and after it I started seeing a pain specialist and we trialled lots of meds that didnβt work and then in november we tried medial branch blocks that were pretty successful for my lower back pain. i had the denervation procedure on the 22nd of december, just over 3 weeks ago. i have also been doing physio for the last 5 months with no results. essentially the issue is 1. i have an active disease, and 2. my muscles have responded in this way for 9 years and itβs hard to reverse that damage without solving the root cause (chronic pain) i am also not allowed to pursue another endo surgery until my back is sorted as the surgery will only exacerbate the issue.
i was told by my pain specialist that i should see results at 5-6 weeks, which is the start of february and 2 weeks before iβm meant to start my dream course i was very lucky to get into. atm im still in my usual extreme pain, things iβve read have said i shouldβve started feeling better after 10 days to 3 weeks. can anyone share their experiences and when should i be worried if it hasnβt worked? my option after this is a last resort, a spinal cord stimulator, however where i live has canceled all elective surgeries due to covid so my whole year will be thrown off and i donβt know how much more i can take at this point
any advice would be appreciated
tldr: how long was it before you saw results from your radio frequency denervation of the medial branch?
EDIT: Here's a video I made to show you both the receiver and transmitter.

Thank you for all the responses! I appreciate the help as this is just a "fun" project to try and repair. I'll respond as soon as possible! Also, only feel like helping when you can or if you want to!

Hey all,
I have an issue with a gas fireplace receiver/transmitter. I cannot get them to sync up. They're connected through RF, not IR.
The address is correct on both. There's a total of 127 different addresses and I've gone through 60 so far without any luck.
Last year, it wasn't an issue selecting an address and having the transmitter connect.
Both devices work properly, so there isn't an issue with them turning on and functioning separately.
I've tried all the basics.... batteries, cleaning the circuit board on both, switching addresses, looking on YouTube, and reading the manual. Still no luck.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong or what to try next?
I've added a picture to show what the devices look like.

Iβve had a Digitech Whammy IV for the last year or so, got a really good deal on it used and it came in box with all the manuals and power supplies, Iβve never had an issue with it before but I recently rebuilt my board after getting some pedals from the holidays and now it is producing such strong radio frequencies that any and all of my drive pedals are rendered completely useless. Iβve never had this issue before and I wanted to know if thereβs anything I can do to prevent it (buffers before or after the whammy?) Iβm running it off my CS12s AC outlet currently so I donβt understand the problem. I donβt wanna replace the pedal. Thankyou!

My rumbling stands for lyrics (it was in english but can't remember a single word). Vocals were not as nasal as mine, very clear. There was a slight crescendo in the chorus but not by much. Way less intense than Desert Rose.
Dove down the rabbit hole after seeing this tweet by u/Spacecowboy78 today.
Physicist Dr. James McDonaldβs life was basically destroyed by his involvement in UFO research, which you can read about on his Wikipedia page. He was humiliated publicly and his wife filed for divorce. He reportedly tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head, but survived. He was blinded by the attempt and went missing from the hospital the next day, somehow managing to acquire another gun and shoot himself 15 miles from the nearest hospital I could find on Google maps. He was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head on June 13, 1971, a month before an AIAA UFO subcommittee report came out in July based on his research.
The Condon Report conclusion of the case the AIAA were looking into was the following:
> * If the report is accurate, it describes an unusual, intriguing, and puzzling phenomenon, which, in the absence ot additional information, must be listed as unidentified. (Condon, p.57). > * In view of... the fact that additional information on this incident is not available, no tenable conclusions can be reached. From a propagation [Based on a wrong date.] standpoint, this sighting must be tentatively classified as an unknown. (Thayer, p.139). > * If a report of this incident, written either by the B-47 crew or by Wing Intelligence personnel, was submitted in 1957, it apparently is no longer in existence. Moving pictures of radar scope displays and other data said to have been recorded during the incident apparently never existed. Evaluation of the experience must, therefore, rest entirely on the recollection of crew members ten years after the event. These descriptions are not adequate to allow identification of the phenomenon encountered. (Craig, p.265). > * After review the unanimous conclusion was that the object was not a plasma or an electrical
