How much pun can the Punisher Punish?

All the Lab Rats (except Tommy) fit each category of these sins, but I’m going to point out specifically which one I feel is home for them.

Pride : Savannah “excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity... an excessive view of one’s self without regard of others.” Savannah is very into herself. All about the photoshop, the fake blonde hair and looking picture perfect constantly. (Narcissism comes into play here).

Wrath : Baboon “manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury.” Baboon went apeshit last June on people on here and on Twitter. She couldn’t handle people not being fans of her man child son and also couldn’t handle people pointing out their problematic ways. BE KIND, Baboon. 😘

Gluttony : Jack “an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.” Jack has substance abuse issues and just goes against Jesus’ teachings all together. He’s a glutton for punishment! (pun intended).

Greed : Gigi/Stage Mommy Dearest “desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual.” Gigi has been obsessed with exploiting her daughters when they were kids to exploiting her grandkids — especially Everleigh! She loves the fame and loves the money her grandpaychecks bring in. Always advertising them on social media and coaxing them for business partnerships and such. IMO she has always been the mastermind behind the exploitation.

Envy : Cole “desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.” Cole has always had an issue with Savannah fucking multiple dudes before getting with him. He’s always clearly got step daddy issues and is envious that Ev has a real dad whose involved. He’s always trying to one up him and oversteps boundaries. He went along with the bullshit savior narrative due to envy and a fragile ego.

Sloth : Tommy “laziness as is manifested by the willful avoidance of work.” I gave Tommy this one since he has yet to get off his lazy ass and fight for Everleigh. He continues to allow the exploitation of her to occur instead of finding a lawyer and taking this to a judge.

Bio

Ghost is an infamous and highly skilled corporate saboteur; he despises the huge, multinational companies that treat regular workers and people as dispensable pawns in their endeavours for greater turnover and profit margins; Ghost believes not only that all these organisations need to be destroyed, but that he is the one who can do it. Pun Neighbourhood was attacked. Yes twice. Someone was transporting highly dangerous prisoners when they were ambushed and the prisoners were set free causing mayhem on the neighbourhood. I grew up in a very diverse area among different races of people and religions. They always promoted tolerance for diversity and always preached against racism. However, these people were hypocrites because they were extremely homophobic. I always heard them say people like me should be shot. I always saw them bully people who they perceived as gay. Yet, they do not see that they themselves are oppressors. They only see that they have been oppressed a d expect everyone to bow down to them. I hate those cultures and religions that say I am abomination. They do not deserve my respect or empathy. Their kind of diversity only promotes hate towards gay people.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, and I may be missing some nuances with respect to how sentencing and punishments typically work, and lots of other stuff.

Violence, or the threat of violence, is punished more harshly when there is more weight behind it. For instance, the difference between simple battery and aggravated battery generally includes the use of a deadly weapon, even if the injury sustained by the victim is the same.

The actions of on-duty police officers have the implicit backing of the state, which has a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence. In the same way that it is worse to commit a crime with a deadly weapon than it is to commit that same crime without one, it is also worse to commit a crime while leveraging the power of the state than it is to commit the same crime without leveraging that power.

I therefore believe that violent crimes such as assault, battery, manslaughter, and murder that are committed by on-duty police officers should carry increased punishments. For instance, an on-duty police officer who commits second degree murder might be subjected to the same range of sentences as a non- (or off-duty) police officer who committed first degree murder.

Edit: So I wanted to address an argument that I've seen against this in the comments several times--namely, that we shouldn't have different legal standards for different people based on their profession. I agree. I was thinking about that when I first made this post, which is why I originally excluded off-duty police officers--my intent was to differentiate the act (commission of a violent crime and taking unjust advantage of the state's monopoly on violence) from the person (the police officer). I'm not sure if the method I proposed actually accomplishes this, though. A few people have pointed out potentially better ways to do this.
