A list of puns related to "Psychopomp"
Psychopomps (fun word to say) guide the soul to the land of dead. Charon, who ferries souls across the River Styx in Greek mythology, is a famous example. Are there any such creatures in Faerun?
Edit: added more examples. I thinking more in terms of creatures that guide souls from the Prime Material Plane to other planes. The Valkyries are another example.
Because Amy, Psychopomp Guide is coded as a Bronze, she cannot appear in the 8th slot of a pack, which only allows Silver or higher rarity cards to appear.
Previously, Amy held this dubious honor in tandem with Excella, also a Bronze, as both only had a .03% chance to appear in slots 1-7 of a pack. However, the release of the mini expansion lowered Amy's appearance rate to .02% for regular packs, or .01% for add-on packs.
Happy mini-expac, everyone!
I was posting on the off chance that somebody was wanting to sell this, since itβs virtually impossible to find. I don't care about the variant or the condition as long as it's playable.
The song Psychopomp from Stranger Heads has recently just clicked for me. I always liked it but recently i've been playing it constantly. Does anyone know if the first part of the solo (the wah part) is guitar or violin? I always assumed it was Tom but it occurred to me it could also be Ben with some crazy violin through a wah pedal. Nothing would surprise me!
On a semi-related note: I played Psychopomp for a couple of younger guys at my office, who are metalheads and had never heard of TYS. They flipped out over it!
"Death and Tax Evasion"
I've been working part time for about a month on my first proper indie game project and I'd love some feedback from you amazing people!
It's a card game about tax evasion which will eventually theme around an afterlife for businesses. At the moment this is the most basic version of the core game system, I have a bunch of UX work to do on it to make the game more obvious, a load of additional mechanics I want to add and then a bunch of planning for the meta progression work, but I really wanted to get it in front of people as soon as I had a viable loop to ensure I'm heading in the right direction.
Any feedback would be amazing!

Just kinda got that TYS vibe today
Hey all! Hope youβre having a fun and safe Black Friday/RSD; I was posting on the off chance that somebody was looking through old records and noticed they had this, since itβs virtually impossible to find (even went to the Jbrekkie tour and they had already sold out by my city.)
Thanks in advance!
My friend has this amazing fantasy western campaign prepped. Today, he mentioned that since pf2e has better gun rules than 5e, it might be worth switching systems. I want to play more pf2e, so I am super up for this.
A problem with switching is that all the pcs have character concepts picked out for the campaign. So I thought it would be fun to show off how good pf2e's character creation system is by building my character in pf2e and having him be more thematic than his original 5e version. However I don't know pf2e very well, so I could use your help!
For context, not-divine magic is illegal in this setting, and people will kill you if you show you have it. Jack was your classic scoundrel; with nothing but a guitar, he would lie and cheat his way from town to town. One day his luck ran out, and folks realized that he was using charms to be as charming as he was, so they shot him and left him to die in the desert. When the grim reaper came to pick up Jack's soul, jack challenged it to a game of poker; if jack won, he would be brought back to life; if he lost, he would go quietly into the night. Jack cheated, and the reaper noticed. The reaper revived Jack since he won, but since jack cheated, his flesh was rotted from the bone, leaving him a living skeleton, and the reaper left jack some chores he would have to do if he wanted a decent afterlife next time he passed.
The character was a spirit bard with a dip in hexblade for eldritch blast, but I'm not tied to any of those mechanics (and he isn't supposed to be a gish). All I want is a musician with necromantic or psychopomp-themed abilities. The most important feature is the ability to hear the stories of dead people; 5e has tales from beyond; maybe this character can get some speak with dead power? Heritage is duskwalker. I didn't decide the ancestry yet. I want this character to be as death-themed as a musician can get, and I am willing to change his story to fit that more.
Any tips for making this character in pf2e?
Anyone know where I can get a copy of Psychopomp on vinyl? Can't find it new or used to save my life
Hello.
Here I am again, with new theories following the last revelations of the update. This post is long.
This post will approach some ideas (Apocalypse/Book of Revelation) that were already discussed in previous posts. I will not repost everything but if you are interested you will find the summary at the beginning and links to all the related posts at the end of this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceClub/comments/p7vqwt/rain_hourglass_divine_spoiler/
Edit: The pictures do not seem to load, I put a link to each pictures if they do not display.

These characters refer to someone well known from mythology:
Charon or Kharon is a psychopomp, the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased who had received the rites of burial, across the river Styx that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead. The far side of the river was guarded by Cerberus, the three-headed . In modern times, he is commonly depicted as a living skeleton* in a cowl*, much* like the Grim Reaper.
As said by u/PrettyMajor1 here https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceClub/comments/p905yi/kabbalistic_pendantceltic_symbolsand_the/ The game seems to be already inspired by mythology , Vlad's mark looks like Cerberus.
If you remember βThe Saturday of Light" commemorates the Harrowing of Hell who is the descent of Christ into Hell (or Hades), a period of time between his Crucifixion and his Resurrection. Which allowed Jesus to defeat Satan and throw open the doors of Hades for all eternity, allowing the souls of the faithful to ascend Heaven. So we have again a link to Hades (underworld) with Charon, Cerberus character on DLS story.

Psychopomps *literally meaning the 'gui
... keep reading on reddit β‘As you guys know, I've been picking random racial concepts and asking whomever comments about the various fantasy beings of their worlds. You guys always know how to fill up my posts and I love it! Always appreciate talking to everyone. Anyway, what are the "divine and unbelievably beautiful winged beings" like of your world? Do they serve your Gods or are they your worlds interpretation of Gods? Do they have magical powers...maybe they're aliens? What's their home like? Is it an alternate dimension or do they live in a floating city on the clouds? Is it a parallel plane of existence they inhabit or the spiritual world? Is it always sunny or...I wanna know it all.πππΌ
Let me know down below.
If youβre unfamiliar with the term, psychopomps are spirits or deities who guide people to the afterlife. An example of this is Charon from Greek mythology. Iβm looking for books in any genre, fiction or non-fiction, that discuss or feature psychopomps. Some that I already know about include the Discworld books that heavily feature Death and βOn a Pale Horseβ by Piers Anthony. The more the merrier! Thanks!
I checked it out from my library, but my library also only keeps a history of one year on borrowed books....
All I remember is that the novel is speculative fiction (urban fantasy) and the female protagonist is some kind of detective? Maybe not employed by the actual police, but she does solve crimes. I think she may have had a drug problem (and I remember a scene in a drug dealerβs place), there was some literal underground city component, and something about an airport? This has been driving me nuts!
In this book the protagonist can do magic. I remember a scene where they decide to communicate with someone they know by constructing an imaginary meeting place (a cafe, I think). But the protagonist is reluctant to do this because it is a risky move which could kill the person attempting it. The protagonist then meets their contact in an imaginary cafe where the meeting is cut short by the approach of death. This approach is signified by sparrows gathering outside the cafe window. These sparrows are called 'psychopomps'.
I think this is an urban fantasy novel. Unfortunately I cannot recall the rules of the magic system except for this one trick where you can meet someone you know in an imaginary place.
EDIT: Solved. It's from a Netflix show called 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' and not from a book at all. I was confused. Sorry.
does anyone know how to reach hank sullivant? I know this is a long shot, but psychopomp, the album he was touring (as kuroma) w mgmt in 2013 was recently taken off spotify & is nowhere to be found on the internet. itβs been a favorite of mine since then & I'm desperate to find a way to listen to it! any leads appreciated :) thanks!

CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS FOR "LOST"
In both "The Leftovers" and "LOST," certain characters represent psychopomps, or soul guides for the deceased.
Virgil in "The Leftovers" guides Kevin through his hotel experience as Virgil the poet guides Dante through the Inferno and Purgatory. Aside from his name, there are several connections between the stories.
In the Inferno, three beasts represent the sins of mankind. They are the she-wolf, the leopard, and the lion. The she-wolf represents incontinence (lack of voluntary control); the leopard stands for fraud; and the lion is violence or ambition. We can draw comparisons between these animals and the three versions of Patti that Kevin encounters.
The child version of Patti lacks self-control because she talks too much. She wears a sign that reads: "I need to keep my mouth shut." The body double version of Patti would represent fraud, as she claims that she's not Patti and has never even met her. The adult version of Patti in the well would represent ambition and violence. She talks about realizing her ambitious goal of winning at least $50,000 on Jeopardy! (the same amount Kevin has donated to her campaign), and we know that she has committed violent acts as leader of the Guilty Remnant.
When Dante asks the poet Virgil about the River Lethe, Virgil explains that it's located in purgatory, and is used by worthy sinners to wash away their sins by forgetting who they were and creating a blank slate. Virgil the concierge says that he drank the water because he was so thirsty. We know that he is in that realm to atone for his sins, so it makes sense that he would drink the water.
Virgil tells Kevin that he needs to stop thinking in straight lines, because Patti thinks in "spirals and helixes and zigzags and circles." This reflects the fact that Dante travels in concentric circles on his journey through the afterlife.
In "LOST," Jin represents the Greek god Hermes (Mercury to the Romans), who served as guide to souls in the underworld and as messenger to the gods.
He is literally the doorman at the S(e)oul Gateway Hotel. This brings up the point that hotels are liminal spaces. "Liminality (from the Latin word lΔ«men, meaning 'a threshold') is the quality of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs in the middle stage of a rite of passage, when participants no longer hold their pre-ritual status but have not yet begun the transition to the status they will hold

Haunting Melody
A nosoiβs song has the power to grip the spirits of those that hear it. All living and undead creatures within a 60-foot spread must succeed at a DC 14 Will saving throw or be fascinated. A creature that successfully saves is not subject to that nosoiβs song for 24 hours. This effect continues for as long as the nosoi sings and for 1 round thereafter. A nosoi can sing for a number or rounds per day equal to twice its Hit Dice. This is a sonic mind-affecting charm effect. This ability can affect undead creatures, even though the undead subtype makes such creatures immune to mind-affecting effects (though undead creatures with immunity to mind-affecting effects from a source other than their creature type are still immune). The save DC is Charisma-based.
Nosois eagerly fill the roles of clerks, scribes, and messengers in Purgatoryβs bureaucracy. They record the circumstances of each mortalβs death, any judgments for and against its soul, and its final destination among the Outer Planes. A noisoi looks like a songbirdβusually a crow, sparrow, or whippoorwillβthough it wears a funerary mask that accentuates its beak. Many nosois craft decorative artificial tails from grave goods and other decorations that trail behind them as they fly. A nosoi typically measures about 1 foot in length but is deceptively heavy, weighing between 10 and 15 pounds. It can use drawing and writing tools suitable for Small or Medium creatures without penalty.
Nosois serve within the libraries and scriptoriums of Purgatory, tirelessly scribbling away without rest. Being social creatures, they frequently chatter or sing with one another. A nosoi considers eating a rare treat, and sometimes shares the information it knows if given a suitable tasty bribe.
A nosoiβs primary duties are to record happenings within Purgatory, conduct souls to and from their appointed destinations, and carry messages from Purgatory to agents in other planes. Most outsiders respect the couriersβ neutrality and allow them safe passage. Many also serve as assistants to more powerful psychopomps or even to mortals with particularly morbid concerns or important fates. Nosois take pride in knowing that their trivial tasks aid in keeping one of
