FMCs like Auren from Plaited Prisoner or Orlaith from Crystal Bloom
Hey reader friends! Iβm looking for suggestions with a kind of particular FMC. Iβm craving more heroines like Orlaith from βTo Bleed a Crystal Bloom,β or Auren from the Plaited Prisoner Series. I think the specific traits Iβm being drawn to are:
- flawed
- funny/witty
- smart, even if itβs just in their own ways
- character growth (!!) I love how both FMCs listed above start the story seeming kind of weak, or in eye-rolling romantic situations, and we get to watch them grow
- LOVE an E2L storyline, or some angst
I like how this h plays out in fantasy the most, but would probably enjoy CR, paranormal, or sci fi. Iβve read SJM, JLA, and R Lee Smith so no need to reco those :)
Some things Iβm trying to avoid:
- the overly innocent, easily shocked h
- insta love
- the overly badass, unbelievably skilled or kickass h, unless it really makes sense as part of the story
- bad writing (I struggle with some of the KU stuff that has obviously had no editing)
- fade to black (need some heat!), no YA please
