I'm working on a fakemon dex (because I might eventually make a fan game maybe in the future perhaps) and while thinking about my early game "regional rodent" I had the idea to combine a pine marten with a greaser.
I haven't drawn it yet, but I really like the design in my head. Problem is I can't decide on a type. It will be at least part normal type, since it's the regional rodent, but I don't want it to be just normal type. So for a secondary type my first thought was dark, but a lot of fakemon based on greasers are dark type and there have been a lot of normal/dark types recently. So I'm not eliminating dark but I want to save it for a last resort.
Other than that the types I thought might work were fighting (because greasers are tough), ice (because greasers are cool), and fire (Don't really have a good reason for this one but I like the idea of it having red and yellow hair).
What do you guys think?
Spotted these tracks in the Caribou National Forest along Pebble Creek near Lava Hot Springs, ID. There were four sets of tracks. Best we could figure out they are from a marten. Agree? Disagree? Other ideas? The one pic is with a human boot print for size. Thanks!

Are these creatures lumped together, lore-wise? They all seem kinda the same without any distinguishing characteristics.
pine marten are simple mobs that are also predditors in the trees, they climb in pursuit of their prey, squirrels, they may also eat a hawk egg, but there's nearly always a hawk on guard so it's unlikely. they are very rare, and when you see 1, it won't be long till it runs away. they will avoid players at all costs. they are not breedable, they are a source of prey for hawks. and drop a banner pattern on death, called marten. when used a pixley pine marten picture comes up. they only spawn at night, and despawn at day unless its nametaged, they have a top speed of 2 blocks per second, as they are ambush predators, they dont need to go fast, they just run and bam. they are 2 blocks long, 1 block tall and 1 blocks wide. they prey on, squirrels, rabbits and hedgehogs. they also like to eat sweet berries, they spawn in, oak, dark oak, and all taiga biomes. and mountain groves. they have 5 hearts of hp. they are more meant for ambience and stuff more than a big purpose, but they have 1 purpose , if you give them sweet berries they will look for stuff in the leaves, occasionally finding rare stuff, the rarest being an iron ingot, but most of the time you'll get acorns, saplings, sticks, and apples. pine martens are immune against poder snow. they are capable of getting rides by deer and reindeer. oh yeah they also help you pick wheat if you give them sweet berries.

I was sitting in the room off the kitchen and I saw the wee fella having a nosy into the kitchen. I shouted at him and he scurried away lightning quick. I regularly feed the stray cats around here in the country side and I presume the pine marten sometimes gets whatever they leave behind after them and saw nothing in the bowl so decided to check inside. No dog around today but he's usually here.
Is there anything to worry about with pine martens coming into the house like this out of curiosity and scurrying away when seen? They seem like harmless little creatures (speaking about towards humans rather than other animals). They murdered the hens here a few years ago but there's no poultry around anymore and I'm not too fussed about the hen's deaths.
EDIT: I should add a two kids from 9-13 are around the house frequently if pine martens only pose a threat to children.
