A list of puns related to "Phantom Circuit"
It is quiet noisy , so far cannot pinpoint the source of noise as one laptop has more noise than the others . So , Planning to use a Phantom Power or an Audio Interface .
it is a xLR to 3.5 mm Condenser mic , but also advertised as having Phantom power support . Funny thing is one of the pin is unconnected . Pin 3 of the XLR . The Circuit is very minimal and wonder if it will damage or short it . https://imgur.com/a/LaGW3VI
The wires go to the Microphone Diaphragm .
Yesterday I got an AT2035 condenser mic, plugged it into my PreSonus studio 26C, and turned on phantom power. All I got was static noise that had no exact frequency (like 60hz hum of a ground loop), just random noise.
I tried different cables, different mics, a different connector from the interface to my computer, tried with a different computer, checked resistance of my XLR cables, plugged my computer into another socket, and nothing was out of order or stopped the problem. The mic works fine with another interface.
I then hooked an XLR up the the interface and tested the Phantom output with a digital multimeter. It read 44V for both inputs on each of the hot and cold pins. mA was 6.78. The resistance between hot/cold to ground was O.L. with phantom off, 0.00 ohms with it on (which I believe has to do with the extra unused power being shorted to ground via an inductor).
When I plug in a dynamic mic, everything sounds fine. Only when I use a mic with phantom power does the noise start. It happens regardless of if the XLR cable is connected to a condenser mic or to nothing at all, no matter which cable I use.
So my question is, what should I do to fix the issue? Or should I see if Presonus can fix it?
Thanks in advance!
Say you wanted to build dynamic microphone with a compressor before the output of the mic. Would you be able to apply phantom power to the mic and use it to power the compressor?
Hi,
First of all sorry for my not-so-good English, not used to writing posts, just reading.
I am a EE student in my second year of university.
Basically the story is, that I've had a condenser microphone for years, but not a phantom power supply for it. I've always wanted to buy one, but well working ones are expensive, the cheap ones from Aliexpress and such have QC problems as far as I know, so I decided to build one myself.
I've scoured the internet for various designs and I've come up with my own, and I would like ask if it would be sufficient for one microphone.
Basically, I have a 230V AC input, that gets transformed to a 24V AC. Then there is a voltage doubler, which approximately puts out 60V DC with ripple. After that, there is a series collector regulator circuit, with a 51V Zener diode. The rest of the circuit is just the connection circuit for the microphone and the "mixer"(in this case my PC).
Is there anything wrong with this, that would cause failure? I've done simulations in TINA for several interations on the design, and this has been the one that seemed the best in terms of ripple and output voltage drop on different loads.
I've also went ahead with PCB design, I've done this before once during a class, but that was just following what a YouTube tutorial said, so this is something new to me as well. So anyways, here's the PCB that I've made in EasyEDA:
Should I change something in the general design? Like leaving a bigger gap between the solid copper surface and the tracks.
Thanks for reading to the end, dear EE Redditor :)
This is a sequel post from my initial one, which can be read here.
Okay, so in my first post, I asked some essential questions regarding a specific circuit I found in a ti document, which is a mic preamp section that creates a balanced xlr output using phantom power (assume +48v, 7mA). I wanted to take this circuit, and adapt it to a custom bass guitar preamp for a project. A user, u/raptorlightning, gave me a lot of insight, and also gave me a suggested op amp, of which the datasheet can be found here (OPA2337). Using all of these resources, I came up with the following schematic: https://imgur.com/a/FWQjvvy
In it, both op amps are the mentioned OPA2337 amps. The "ac source" is the bass pickup, which should give out an extremely small signal, around 40mv at most maybe (I can't measure myself). If you couldn't notice for some reason, I essentially took the TI circuit and just adapted it component-for-component. Because I'm very inexperienced in circuit design, this post is to ask for a review to make sure I don't ruin anything. Like, what values should I be changing here? Is too much current being drawn from Phantom? Things like that. It's not very complex, so hopefully things will be easy to overview.
Do note, this is not the only section that will be in the preamp, there will also be a treble and bass cut/boost circuit before the balancing section, so I will be making more sequel posts regarding that. This also means I can't be drawing all the current I have in this preamp section, or else I can't even put that in, lol.
Thanks in advance π
I've removed the top of my Phantom 3 Standard in preparation for the two antennas I'm replacing after my swamp crash. I've found several cracks in the body of the drone. I've also discovered that one of the four screws that hold down the circuit board is no longer attached to the inner support.
Researching replacing the body, I've found that some suppliers don't include the inner component to which the circuit board is mounted. What I can't find is the name of that inner component.
Does anyone have a supplier that will supply all the plastic components of the body in one price?

Hi folks, I'm making myself an active DI box for professional audio. The basic (though vastly simplified) principle of the circuit is this:
http://imgur.com/balvGpq
A quick primer in professional audio for those not aware, almost all audio is sent down shielded twisted pair cable as a balanced signal. Certain microphones must be powered, and we do that by connecting the signal lines (pins 2 and 3 in an XLR connector) to +48V through 6.8k resistors, this is called "phantom power". The mixing console still uses the voltage difference between the two signal lines as its signal. When we need to work with an unbalanced signal, we balance it using a DI box, which can either be a passive device using a transformer to balance the signal, or active, using a powered circuit (powered via phantom power).
So in my circuit, the transistors raise or lower the voltage on the signal lines by drawing more or less current through the 6.8k resistors to the 48V phantom power supply. Okay, simple. The trick is that the bases of the transistors need to be biased. I want this device to be able to operate on a wide variety of supply voltages (from 9 volt batteries up to 48 volt mixing console supplies), and for maximum headroom I would like to bias the bases of the transistors so that when my signal is silent, my signal lines sit at about 0.5 Vcc. The problem is that from the point of view of my circuit, Vcc is hidden behind those 6.8k resistors and I have to power my circuit down the same lines I'm using for signal, so when my signal lines rise and fall, my power supply voltage rises and falls as well. So, what's the best way for me to do this?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Hey everyone!! Back with a new and updated post. These prices are WITHOUT shipping. I will provide a quote for you, but it usually isn't more than $5 unless the items won't fit in a regular bubble mailer.

One of the best things about writing these Band of the Week posts is the ability to spotlight something overlooked. And this weekβs band totally deserves your attention.
Hereβs the thing: if you didnβt know them, youβd just think that these guys were, I donβt know, laborers or plumbers or electricians or something. They totally look like they are blue collar dudes who just want to have a smoke and beer at the end of the day.
But they are one of the hardest working bands out there, and have carved out a niche in the Stoner Rock market. They have truly embraced the lifestyle. They tour their asses off, return home, bang out an album, and then hit the road again.
That means they do Rock and Roll right. Theyβve been a band since the early 1990βs and are an amazing live act.
Yup. It is time to learn about CLUTCH.
About them
When you get together in the early 90βs and are still together 30 years later, are you still just a band? Or are you some kind of weird asexual polyamourous family?
Hmm. I guess that asexual comment presumes that these guys didnβt have sex with each other. Probably a safe bet, but you know what people say about assumptions.
They are usually correct but uncomfortable because they are reductionist in thinking.
Right?...What, you disagree? Stop being an ass. That will just make me behave like an ass too.
So with more than three decades under their belt, you can bet that this band has an interesting history. For instance, who knew that Maryland was a hotbed of Stoner Rock? All the members of the band came from Germantown, Maryland.
Whereβs that again? You mean youβve never heard of the third-largest municipal area in the state of Maryland? TBH, before this write up, neither had I. But it is the home of Tim Sult (Guitar), Dan Maines (Bass), Jean-Paul Gaster (Drums), and Roger Smalls (Vocals).
Roger Smalls? Yep. Historical Footnote time: Smalls was the first vocalist for Clutch, back when they were known as Glut Trip and Moral Minority. But before they g

#A Toast. To begin, I raise a toast to the mods u/letsburn00, u/The_lordofruin, u/phantom_hax0r, u/username-taken82, u/mcfucking. Thanks for all you do for the sub. I raise a toast to my fellow retards; to the memes and the shitposts, to the gains and loss porn, to the bulls but not the bears, to our speccy-mining millionaires and the BNPL believers, to wildlife adoption drives and our resident sea creatures, to short reports and to awareness campaigns, to the holes and their liars, to the infinite money schemes and the nearology scam dreams, to Tomβs T+2βs and our bruised kneecaps, to the cults and weekend wine reviews, and finally to those cunts that claim to be built different but yet seem to be cut from the same fucking cloth. Thanks for all making 2021 a brilliant year despite all that is going on in the world. Please all have a safe Christmas and/or holiday period.
#Show Me The Money Many thanks to my previous ban-bet superstar u/Mutated_Cunt. He left a cryptic clue about myself as the next guest poster. Now onto why we are here and what better way to do it then publicly humiliate all of our Z1Ptard degens first. Lets kick it off with the downright delusional.
Our posters seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Z1P. u/StrethAU kicked off the new financial year in style claiming that Z1P will reach $28 before Dec 31st or a 2 month ban. You have 3 trading days for Z1P to go up 525% or we will be seeing you in March. u/SunkDestroyer chimed in offering to buy Streth a bottle of their choosing should Z1P reach $28 however I like your odds of not having to buy a bottle of horse cum or some other bodily fluid.
Degenerate Z1P copium holder number 2 u/Therealdudka joined in on Strethβs wild claim with Z1P to $20 by December 31st or 6 months in the slammer. Again, you have 3 trading days for Z1P to become the next Afterpay or we will be seeing you in the new financial year.
