A list of puns related to "Petrol Engines"
Since in the first movie when introducing the Pursuit Special, they claim in βsucks nitroβ as in nitromethane. Yet in later movies in the waste land I doubt they would be very discriminatory with fuel. So Iβm wondering if a nitro car could run normal fuel or if Max had to do some tuning
Bought a can of liqui moly engine flush. My Hyundai i10 petrol car is naturally aspirated and has ran 50,000 kms with engine never flushed before and only ever used mineral/semi mineral oil but changed within 10k kms everytimg. I have however used liqui moly injector cleaning petrol additive a few times before.
On the internet i hear negatives that on a old engine its risky as with the flush one can have issues with gaskets and rubber parts and piston rings as the gunk will go making clearances wider. Should i flush the engine or let it run like this ? My goal is to have my engine run smooth for atleast 120-130 k kms
Hey guys, so I was considering getting an A3 but over here they only come with a 1.4L 150bhp 250nm torque engine, as opposed to the 2.0L commonly available elsewhere. Do you guys think it will be too underpowered? WDYT?
Hi all. I have recently bought a 10 plate mazda and have discovered a rattle under the bonnet. The car has 73k miles but has been sitting for the past year un used before I bought it. It has had new oil and filter and an mot before I picked it up but have noticed when it gets warm there is a prominent rattle noice when revving at around 2 to 3k rpm and sometimes when accelerating. The rattle isn't constant and very intermittent. Doesn't sound like bottom end however as it's not doing it all of the time. The car drives really smooth with no loss of power and nice delivery. Ive ran some injector cleaner through in combo with 99 petrol. Could this be just a build up of crap from sitting? Needs new plugs maybe or the timing is off? I should also add that it has improved over the week that I have used it and after the injector cleaner but still makes a rattle.
I feel like this is going to be one of the next big businesses in the next 20-30 years, I mean shops that offer such conversions, suppliers that build those kits, etc.
Hey all new here! Sorry if is misinterpreted any of the rules.
Last night I was doing my tyres up typically on the last tyre I have to start the car as the battery goes flat but upon getting in to turn it off I saw my engine light flashing fast. I thought oops the battery is too low so drove round the corner and back.the car lost lots of its power, struggle on slightest hill and very rocky/wobbly The light went off and as I parked up I smelt the rotten eggs smell.
Today after abit of reading on advice I did some checks and half been keeping notes. The engines still really rocky and I get a petrol smell flood the cabin I think is from the exhaust.
Before that I checked spark plugs and there's this blacky dark brown residue around them. On the right side of engine I found down the side a plastic slim tube/hose that's not connected to anything on my side but connected opposite end to something I can't see/access without removing the battery (may be just an irrelevant breather)
I'm brand new to car DIY I regrettably sold my 2013 scenic for this 2005 megane and have regretted it daily but that's not going to solve anything so ideas/tips would be heavenly. I'll try post a picture below (I'm not that good with reddit)
Iβve read about compression ratios being smaller in petrol engines to prevent the fuel from exploding, but Diesel engines ignite using heat from compression? Why donβt petrol engines do the same?
I would like to know what can be the reason for such astronomic fuel consumption for very small engine as 1.6 ?
Looking for some first hand knowledge from a person in manufacturing/production unit about engines difference in Petrol Vs CNG fuel.
Does car with pre-installed CNG capabilities have different functioning from a car that supports just petrol ?
I understand that we can retrofit CNG in a petrol engine but my question is about does CNG engine, during manufacturing has any different component or different capabilities compared to a normal petrol engine ?
I'm trying to compare real life diesel TDI and petrol consumption for a 2016 Audi A3 (Saloon/Sportback) or something close enough.
Diesel numbers are ~400L on a full tank, averaging 40mpg, mixed dual-carriage way and inner city driving. Including motorway driving takes it up to 45-50mpg.
Given that diesel is pubic enemy #2, it would be useful to compare equivalents.
