Hey all, new here. I know I am a tenor but that is about all. I do not know how to read sheet music or really anything else. Iβve never sang outside of the car and the shower and decided to audition for my university choir and somehow got accepted!!
Is there any advice you could give me or specific things to work on as an absolute beginner? Thank you in advance!
EDIT: Thank you again everyone for the advice!
I remember a movie where I think the main character was played by Jackie Chan and was going against a group of bad guys. There is a scene that was 3d animated really badly (movie had to be pre 2010) but scared me a lot for some reason as a kid. The only other scene I remember was one where the bad guys rapple down a building but riding bicycles. If you know, please help, my brain needs to rest.
Was super into blading when I was younger but grew out of it. Now at 35 I'm building new and healthy habits and ready to learn something new!
Need some help choosing a deck, either cruiser or longboard, that's suitable for 280lb+. 8 men's shoe size. Shorty squad rep.
Been looking into Santa Cruz VX completes, Landyachtz Dinghy, and FISH longboard. Having a hard time picking one, I want to make sure it's solid for my weight. Would appreciate some advice. Thank you! :D
Looking for 16 GB (4 x 4GB) of DDR2 DIMM Non-ECC RAM
Just trying to upgrade an old machine without doing a rebuild or spending a ton of $$.
Could be two sets of 2 or even 4 singles of at least the sameish thing. Closest thing I can find is this.

This may or may not work in my MOBO, (Intel not AMD) hard to know for sure without trying.
The MOBO IS compatible with 16 GB RAM though.
I'd really like to know if there are any sites out there that are better at looking for this sort of thing. The filters on Newegg, Amazon and eBay are terrible now and return so many erroneous results and Tiger Direct wants 80 $ / stick
My son has a MobileStudio Pro 13 (DTH-W1320H) bought in 2017.
Currently the update of Windows 10 is stuck at version 1909 (November 2019 Update).
A tentative to update (it is trying to install 20H2) encounters a windows error. In the update page it also appears the warning:
"Some settings are managed by your organization"
Problem is, I do not remember if this was done years ago by us by disabling automatic updates (we always feared updates on Wacom products...) or if it is a setting imposed by Wacom itself because the machine does not support more recent versions.
So I'm a bit esitant in trying a way to force the update.
People who have the same model (i.e. a model bought around 2017): which version of windows 10 do you currently have? Has been the update problem-free?
Its a picture of two furries in front of banff national park AB and i had seen it before i made my account if anyone wants to help that would be appreciated
Any tracker for old-ish PC games?
Im trying to remember the name of this anime I watched on netflix around 2012-2015 ( U.S. netflix if it matters). The anime looked to be from the mid to late 2000s. It was an adventure anime set in a knights and kingdoms era. There were 2 main characters, a man with brown hair (dont remember much about his appearance) and a woman with blonde hair. I remember the woman wearing a pink and black outfit. The man had a lax and carefree personality and the woman had a much more serious and mature personality and would often keep the man in check. Some distinct things I remember from the anime are that the man was in a sort of military before becoming partners with the woman, and that the woman liked dango ( look to google for images) and would visit a certain shop for them. One scene I remember is the man losing control during a battle in a field of grass and going into a sort of berserk mode and shooting lasers out of his eyes. Currently 5 in the morning and trying my hardest to find it.
In this game you run through different levels and maps. (If it helps, you donβt play as a person you play as a sort of blob character) In the levels you collect variations of yourself but as different colors (red, blue, green, yellow) and rerun them them to the circle of the color they belong to the map to rid of them. This is all done while avoiding enemyβs
I found a picture that slightly represents what (one) of the enemyβs looks like

The enemy resembles that character but is a dark purple (a smoky dark gas)
Hi,
So, I've been looking at a few "functionnal programming in java" videos. We haven't done any in Java at my uni, we only use Java to work around OOP concepts, but seeing these videos made me go "oh dear this looks awesome and useful"
I've had a project to deliver in Java for uni last semester, so I've been trying to turn a lil bit of my code into functionnal programming.
This function is in a Strategy object which has an attribute this.indexes, which is a set of none or several integers.
What my function does :
- Take a list of "League" objects
(- Each League has a list of "Competitor" objects and a "Ranking()" method, which returns a Map<Competitor, Integer> where each Competitor is tied to its score (an int). The map is supposed sorted in descending order (our teachers gave us a sortMap function))
- Iterate on that list of Leagues...
- For each league...
- And for int of my integer in this.indexes...
- If I have a competitor at index (i) in the ranking of that league, I take the competitor and put it in a new List, which will be my return value.
So this was a bit messy. In functionnal programming I got this so far :
Function<?,?> function = null; //TODO
pools.stream() //pools being my List<League>
.map(x->x.ranking()) // I take each "ranking" HashMap...
.map(x->MapUtil.sortedMapToLinkedList(x)) // I turn each Map into
a LinkedList which
supposedly has the
same order than my
map, because I
expect it to be
easier to manipulate than a map
.collect(Collectors.groupingBy(function)); // And there I have a blank...
I've been trying to do something like using a predicate and a filter and say "for each competitor whose index in their own ranking list is in this.index" but I'm not familiar with streams and Functions and such yet...
Would anyone mind givin me some tips? :)
(I could provide the actual code of my original function but I kinda doubt you'll like it lol)
You see, my friend is very unfamiliar with computers, even gets confused with smartphones, so he never would remember or manage to manually update his system. He's one of those persons who, whenever a pop-up appears on any device, quickly closes it without caring to read.
So instead, I installed Fedora 34, and just warned him that sometimes, when he went to shutdown or reboot the computer, the computer would start again and update, and for him to let it finish.
I checked a few months after, and voila, it was updated at the time. He said he sometimes saw the updating screen telling him not to turn off the computer, so he didn't. Now my friend uses a secure and updated system.
My next step will be to tell him how to upgrade to the next version of Fedora, but that will probably need a video call to show him where in Software you do it.
EDIT: Originally I posted this as a comment, but thought "eh, this could be a cool post"
New here -been lurking for a bit tho
Wondering in anyone can help. I have a Monteverde Olympia with a cracked housing. I swapped the M for an XF a while ago and I guess the pen didnβt like itβ¦no idea when the crack happened I just inked it up one day and found out the hard way it was there.
Tried buying a modern monteverde replacement nib/housing unit (#5) but the threads donβt line up. I guess after ?? Years it was changed. Looking for a donor pen of the same vintage butβ¦I donβt know when this thing came out. Is anyone familiar with this pen? I remember seeing it around 2005 but I donβt know if it was new or not at the time. I canβt find any info on it.
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays during a nature bumper. It doesnβt really have any lyrics but it has people singing βooooooh oooooooh oh owo owo oooooohβ
