A list of puns related to "Nutrition Disorder"
Hello! I am working on a low cost, online nutrition course for individuals recovering from eating disorders and disordered eating (I posted this survey several weeks ago- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1baIQjO75gvjlGw5DcSA931QZqjoDcZGCvwbcOaz-GAo/edit.) We are working on rolling out the course in the next couple of months. If you are interested in getting updates about this resource, feel free to message me your email address or send a direct email to natalie@feedingyoursoulnutrition.com.

β’ The increase of obese people has led to consider this disease a worldwide burden and a risk element for other disorders.
β’ Diet acts as a critical regulatory factor on immune response.
β’ Senescent cells secrete the so-called senescence-associated who are pro-inflammatory factors that overlap with those secreted by inflamed adipose tissue in obesity.
Adequate nutrition is vital for immune homeostasis. However, the incidence of obesity is increasing worldwide due to the adoption of the Western diet and a sedentary lifestyle. Obesity is associated with chronic inflammation which alters the function of adipose tissue, liver, pancreas, and the nervous system. Inflammation is related to cellular senescence, distinguished by irreversible cell cycle arrest. Senescent cells secrete the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) which contains pro-inflammatory factors. Targeting processes in senescence might have a salutary approach to obesity. The present review highlights the impact of an unhealthy diet on tissues affected by obesity, and the mechanisms that promote the consequent inflammation and senescence.

I'm so tired of seeing influencers who are evidently struggling with an eating disorder or exercise addiction, sell nutrition/workout plans. A few come to mind but I'm always hesitant to bring this up because I don't want to come across as body shaming any individual. But it saddens me to think of young women (and men) purchasing plans or coaching from an individual who is clearly in no state to be offering health and fitness advice. I worry they also contribute to this idea that being stage lean year round is attainable and healthy when it clearly isn't.
Iβm in a nutrition class in college and started recovery recently from my eating disorder. We have a lab for this class and our upcoming assignment is to analyze three days worth of meals. We put our foods into a software and then it analyzes all the nutritional data of it. We also need to answer questions such as βdo you think this meal plan is sufficient for your weight loss, maintenance, or weight gain goals?β. I asked my lab teacher for an alternate assignment and even added that I can get a note from a medical professional explaining that I cannot do this assignment due to a medical condition. She responded and said to do the assignment based on someone elseβs food entryβs. That doesnβt solve the problem. I donβt want to count calories or analyze meals for me OR anyone else. Am I overreacting? Already really struggling with ed this week
I've been wanting to be healthier in positive ways, avoiding being focused on things that trigger me. I want to make sure I get all my nutrients, feel less sluggish, build a little muscle. People often recommend food diaries or calorie counting. But calorie counting is highly triggering, since I see it as a competition with myself to go low as possible. Overly simplistic food categories also can be triggering. Like reducing all foods and food groups into only fat, carbs, or protein.
How can I track my nutrition and exercise while avoiding triggering methods like calorie counting and other?
I mean hey, it seems interesting and I already have a lot of background knowledge so why not, am I right? Hahah I am π€‘
Hey guys, just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else has experience with this. I've posted before about what I see as a disconnect in the fitness industry between healthy relationships with food and fitness culture.
My box does nutrition challenges periodically, and I have always intuitively been a healthy eater. However, participating in one of the nutrition challenges recently (RP strength, if anyone is familiar) almost gave me an eating disorder. I started to get obsessive thoughts about food, to the point where I couldn't even focus in class because I was thinking about my next meal. I started to categorize foods as "good" or "bad," and I was worried about sacrificing my performance improvements every time I ate something "bad." It became a constant battle to be perfect. Due to the fact that I initially lost weight and started to look and perform better, I saw food as something that could either make or break that progress, and was terrified of eating macros that were not "acceptable" even though my body wanted (and probably needed) them. Although I know that some people love RP, I still felt an incredible amount of restriction on what I could eat.
It was incredibly difficult mentally to stop the RP strength nutrition plan, as I would continue to have toxic thought processes when I ate, telling me that I should be eating something "on the plan." Maybe this is partly due to the kind of person I am or the personality I have, but I had never struggled with eating disorders in my entire life until this point. I count myself incredibly fortunate that I am now back to eating intuitively and have a much healthier relationship with food, my body, and my performance than I ever did during those 3 months that I was on it. However, I am pretty frustrated at the ease at which many gyms recommend these plans without also having a discussion about eating disorders. While counting calories may work for some people, following a "strict" eating plan caused me to sacrifice my mental health in the process.
You can count all of the macros you want, workout 2x a day, but if you are not OK mentally, you are still NOT healthy. THIS is the most important realization that I had.
I read this article a few weeks ago that really hit home. I know that running is a very different sport from lifting, but I draw similarities between focus on being "lean" and having that "perfect muscular physique." To me, at least, the mental thought processes between intake
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi everybody! Iβm a newbie who just signed up for boot camp after wanting to play for over 10 years now and along the way I recovered from an ED so I was wondering if anybody had tips for making sure youβre eating ENOUGH while training? (I looked through the group and didnβt find anything related to this but please let me know if this is a repeat thread, sorry.)
I have a tendency to get too focused and skip food so if anyone has go-bag snack suggestions I would really appreciate it!
Should I just stick to water or put some electrolyte drinks in there too?
I just finished my DI and am about to take my RD exam. I applied to get my MS in nutrition and was accepted, but the way this program works you don't necessarily get to customize your thesis 100%, and I'd be very lucky, (and it would not be likely), I'd be able to do the exact research I am interested in that would potentially help build my dream career. I really want to work with patients with eating disorders (all types), and more focus on the behavioral side while still monitoring and managing their nutritional status. I really can't imagine how mastering in nutrition and studying the biochemistry of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids at a more detailed level is going to help me be what I want to be for my patients.
I have looked at various eating disorder programs around the US to see what others have gotten their masters in, and most of have in nutrition.
Also, if someone knows of a master program that 'focuses' on eating disorders, I would love to know that.
Thank you so much for your input.
My sister has struggled with bulimia related issues since high school. She was diagnosed with a disorder called ruminations syndrome where food involuntary gets regurgitated up. She got down to 90 pounds at one point. She was in complete denial she was at an unhealthy weight and become extremely defensive when confronted about it. I think she liked the weight loss because she has always had body image issues. I think after a while she started throwing up her food on purpose. Maybe it was on purpose all along.
Fast forwarding to the last few years, she has gained some weight back. Sheβs maybe 110. She had her first baby, and get immediately got pregnant with her second. She says her ruminations is better, but I have a hard time believing that due to the massive amount of food she eats without ever gaining weight. She is always eating. Whole packages of cereal or tubs of ice cream will disappear overnight and she drinks soda constantly. Sheβll sneak cans of soda in the bathroom and drink them in there. She covers absolutely everything in any condiment she can find. The other day she ate rice and beans and put so much ranch dressing in it, it looked like soup. She probably eats over 4000 calories a day, but has no body fat. She has to be throwing her food up again.
Iβm concerned first of all for her health - mental and physical. She is in such strong denial that she has a problem and has become and expert in hiding her behavior. She had some problems with her first baby, and Iβm starting to get really worried about her second baby. Iβm thinking of telling my mom to talk to her about it, but I donβt know how to go about it. She gets so defensive whenever someone says something about it. What should I do?
TLDR: Iβm worried for the health of my sisters baby because she has an eating disorder
