A list of puns related to "Non Player Character"
With them committing to a five year vision for D2, you still have 3 years left to regret a rushed decision.

I was recently DMing a little pirate-themed campaign for a few of my cousins on a family vacation when an interesting problem arose. One of my cousins, who is a new vegan (and really into it), decided that her character would also be vegan. She refused to harm any creatures.. No stealing, and no attacking anything, even monsters/golems/undead.. full pacifist, lawful good.
I immediately feared that this would negatively interfere with the rest of the players' experience, since the rest of the party was excited to slay some monsters and do some classic piracy. It took some extra consideration, but ended up being really fun.
Here's how I adapted to having a vegan, lawful good, player in a pirate setting. Please add your own ideas/experiences!

Hereβs a spreadsheet for this.
You donβt have to complete the whole thing if you donβt want to, this is just for fun. Just scroll down and hit submit if you get bored of it. I got up to fifty characters on there which is a lot, but I think the total number of existing characters is like seventy something.
For some reason, when you hit βsee previous responsesβ, it doesnβt show the pictures anymore, so I added my own responses with the correct names so that fans of the game can see the list of responses and know which characters were being named. Sorry to those who donβt know the actual names who would like to see the responses, Iβm not sure why the images donβt show up in the results.
Purpose: there used to be a trend on YouTube where people would go to their parents, younger siblings, etc. and show them images of the characters while asking who they were. If they didnβt know, they would make up a name which made it more entertaining to me. So I want to see what people come up with.
Fortnite: Battle Royale is known for itβs rather expensive cosmetic outfits, which, unlike most free games, has really high-quality outfits, like the awesome Menace gladiator or the epic 8-Ball mercenary. But some high-quality models donβt actually end up as outfits, and some, like the ones I mentioned, arenβt even obtainable anymore! So, in this guide, we go over how to play as any NPC on the island.
Alright, so, the only cosmetic you will need is the Mystique outfit. She was a part of the Chapter 2, Season 4 Battle Pass and is based off the Mystique superhero from Marvelβs heroic roster, who has the ability to transform into the outfit the enemy that you previously eliminated was wearing. This technically isnβt a pay-to-win feature, as theyβre just cosmetic, but you can use these to play as special characters that arenβt in the game yet. Just run into an NPC that uses a model thatβs not an outfit, eliminate them, and then use her built-in emote to transform into the outfit of your previous enemy. Now, keep in mind you had to do challenges to unlock Mystiqueβs emote, but recently, Epic gave everyone the Battle Pass built-in emotes from last season to everyone who earned the outfits for free, which is quite convenient. Hereβs a list of possible NPCs you can turn into, to name a few:
And there you go! You can become any non-player character from there! Unfortunately, it only lasts for a minute before you return to your normal form, any taking or dealing any damage also removes the effect. However, if in any way you return to your normal form, you can simply use the emote again.
Everyone goes to the shadowlands when they die in Azeroth but the adventurers (player characters) are the only ones who go looking for their corpses to resurrect. Example: Varian could've run back to his corpse on the broken shore back in 2016 but no he was like "bye bitches I'm chilling in the afterlife with this troll guy and like 7 chromie clones"
have you ever fought a monster near friendly armed guards? They do NOTHING! They stand there and watch your health slowly drain as the fight goes on for 3 minutes cause you didn't think you had to use your whole rotation for these two squishy guys and now everything's fucked.
enemies in raids are pretty damn lazy too, now that I think about it. They're always important citadel guards and them shits are standing at the end of the hall, watching you standing at the other end of the hall. They aren't gonna attack, they don't want to run over there. They're waiting for you to come to them. and it's just a weird staring contest between everyone while you wait for the mage to conjure refreshments that nobody asked for but everyone takes at least 2 stacks of.
I'm attempting to localize an App I'm making, and one of the acronyms I use is NPC. For a lot of other languages, like Japanese, Russian, and German, they just use NPC as is, with no translation of the acronym.
But when I went to translate into Spanish, it provided me with PNJ rather than just NPC. If anyone could provide me with some insight on what would be better to use for my Spanish translation, NPC or PNJ, it'd be super helpful, thanks!
as the title of the post goes, who or what would you like to see in prime tl canon trek from the game?
me?
Ambassador Kuumaarke. I love her character.
also T'laru Jarok - yes please.
I'm slowly building everyone so I can play different kinds of teams for fun
I'm attempting to localize an App I'm making, and one of the abbreviations I use is NPC. From what I gathered online, it seems like the Russian language just uses NPC as is, with no translation, and I wanted to make sure that's true, or if there's a translation that's more commonly used.
I figured I should ask here, as someone more familiar with the language would know better than my minute of googling.
Whether it's using Venti or Albedo's E as an elevator, using Ganyu's charge attack to kill a lot of birds at once, Albedo's E for fishing, Sayu's rolls as a fun little way to explore...what's your favorite non-combat purpose of a character's skill?
Mine, as a perpetually lazy person, is using Venti's burst to collect in one place the materials that enemies (if spread out) drop. I also really love Albedo's elevator (so much that it replaced Venti's E as my go to way to climb).
Okay, I feel like I am an average softcore POE player. Imagine if your mom or dad played POE, because basically, I am in that senior parent/grandparent phase of life. However, I do die a fair bit ... In POE. I'm still determined to retire and enjoy my hard-earned savings in a couple of years, so I'm also trying to avoid the dying part in RL. So, anyway, just getting to level 50 in a normal HC challenge would be ... well, a challenge for me.
So for Zizaran's event, they're going to make it even harder. I am feared already. Kind of like that trip you take to the doctor when you turn 50, and they stick their fingers in places fingers shouldn't go, and then tell you not to eat anything that tastes good ever again.
<Insert copious amounts of Fear in this space>
So, how bad will the event be with Increased Monster Damage, More Monster Life, Increased Monster Speed, Increased Area of Effect and the two new mods, Additional Projectiles and Increased Life of Unique Monsters turned on?
My plan is to play as a summoner, since most of my best skills involve running away from danger and letting others handle my problems for me. I know to over-level stuff much, much more than I normally would ... but, am I just going to be pounding my head against a wall for 10 days, or is this going to make me the player that Chris thinks I should have been all along?
What are some tips that will at least give me a fighting chance that the average player won't know already? My plan is to over-level to an extreme, make sure I'm using my crafts to keep my resists and life up as much as possible, and study the boss fights more than I ever have before ... before I go into them. What else will help me not just become frustrated and cry to my kids what a bad, evil game I've gotten myself into over the past couple of years?
My dude's birthday is coming up, and hes big into EQ. I know almost nothing about it, besides watching him play a few times.
I'm making a handmade birthday card with a sick drawing I did of his character, but i want to include some kind of message of like "congratulations on leveling up", but want it to still be EQ themed. I was thinking "Achievement Unlocked: Level up" but that's xbox lingo.
Halp! What message displays when your character levels up? Any graphics or shit that are iconic of leveling up that I can include?
Many thanks :)
Hi, for my game they are going to be with an npc for a bit, and I just want to know, are they a GMPC?
So what criteria does a GMPC have (a good GMPC by the way, so they won't outperform the party or steal the spotlight)
So basically, while i was preparing my adventure for the group I just said "I don't want evil adventurers in the campaign" they were pretty okay with it. And when they send me their character sheets they indeed did not choose any evil alignment. My questions is, have i done something wrong?
Hi,
I haven't found a good way to convert historical figures into non-player characters.
Any ideas?
I am more interested in as-large-as-life portrayals for historical games. I can understand if larger-than-life portrayals are appropriate for some games, or can be renamed and adjusted for other settings.
Motivations. Sometimes these are clear. Sometimes these are unclear or unknown, and multiple options may be needed.
Overall Ability. Including natural talent, prior experience, and so on. I really don't have a good idea how to judge this. If someone is the greatest doctor, scientist, conductor/rescuer, explorer, spy, or soldier of an age, should they be "Heroic" in Savage Worlds? 16th Level in D20? Maybe lower? Maybe higher?
Specific abilities. For modern figures, there's a good chance of finding general talents, languages, and some specific abilities, and working out a reasonable guess from these. For medieval and ancient figures, there's always more guesswork. I'm more comfortable with allocation, starting with known abilities, or known gaps, and then seeing what is left over for likely ones, than with random generation, trying to guess what would be an appropriate set of die or dice rolls.
Specific disabilities. Some systems include a selection. In that case, I'm comfortable adding new ones for latent typhus, for epilepsy, and so on depending. Others do not. In that case, I'm not sure what to do...
Another sticking point is how to work with class-level systems. For example. Amazing Adventures seems to support most of the above, but I'm not sure when switching out class abilities, or using class-and-a-half or dual-class characters would be more appropriate.
My inclination is to start with Savage Worlds, since it has hindrances for motivations, skill options, and hindrances for disabilities. And then re-create these characters for other systems. But it's easier to convert from a crunchier system like Basic Roleplaying to an impressionistic one like Savage Worlds, so if there is a version with hindrances for disabilities, maybe that would be a better starting point.
We're gathering high-quality screenshots / official art of all the major characters in SWTOR, KOTOR, and other Old Republic media, to create a secret art and lore project for Star Wars Celebration. If you have high-quality ingame screenshots that you'd like to share for the project of NPCs (not of your character), please message me or comment below and I'll send you more information about how to join in and share!
I've tried many codes, but they'll end up saying an error.
Latest example after giving up in a normal script placed in workspace:
game:GetService("Players").PlayerAdded:Connect(function(name)
local char = game.Workspace:FindFirstChild(name)
local humanoid = char.Humanoid
end)
Error: Workspace.Script:3: attempt to index local 'char' (a nil value)
Solution:
game:GetService("Players").PlayerAdded:Connect(function(player)
player.CharacterAdded:Connect(function(Character)
character. ...
end)
end)
Hey guys!
I am a game developer student and I'm currently working on a dissertation centered around the game The Last Guardian. This survey looks at the experiences of players of the game and the emotions that accompany those experiences.
I'd really appreciate if you could take a few minutes to fill it out!
Thank you in advance :D
Something I must admit, I'm a bit curious about with Rippers - Would it be out of theme to have a non-Abrahamic Player Character? With Mummies as a foe listed in Egypt, would it be out of place to have a priest/priestess of Osiris among the Rippers? Or is that more of an 'enemy cultist' sort of character, with Rippers having a strong Arbahamic basis in its style? Plotting a Miracles user for a game and got pondering if non-Abrahamic Miracles would be unreasonable.
