I had perfectly good toenails that never got ingrown. But one day I was playing football near the end of 2018 and I accidentally kicked a cement boundary on the ground and my big toenail was shunted backwards and erupted near the base of my nail. The whole toenail came off after 2 months.
It took near 8 months for the new toe to grow back. But it soon became ingrown. I went to a plastic surgeon who suggested that I should take a conservative approach and try to grow the nail and guide it without letting it get ingrown. During this time, he decided it would be a good idea to LIFT HALF OF THE NAIL from the nailbed so it doesn't get ingrown. I can understand why he would do that but the problem is that now half of my nail bed has turned into skin.
Fast forward to the summer of 2020 and I was tired of the conservative approach as my toe had been inflamed all year and was infected thrice. So I decided, after appointments with multiple doctors, that I would give this nail one last chance. I would have a surgeon extract this nail and try to grow a normal nail one last time.
Now as I'm writing this, the new nail is starting to make my toe ache again. I'm 20 years old and I want to be able to play sports without this injury keeping me at home. If this nail decides to be completely ingrown like last time I think I'm going to extract the nail ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE NAIL ROOT AND MATRIX. Personally I don't think what could go wrong as I don't think a toenail has many uses. I'd still have my underlying toe.
I need your help in finding the best course of action; to end this 2 year long ordeal.
I’ve been taking terbinafine for about 16 days. My nail has not really grown at all in these last two weeks. However, I have started to grow layers of what looks like really thin skin. They attached to the nail that I have but did not harden like normal nail. Last night, while I was cleaning the nail the “new nail” growth just came right off like a scab. Was this growth just old dead keratin or was it actually new nail?
A gust of wind shut a door onto my finger a few weeks ago, and it bled under the nail just enough to cause discoloration without any impairment of the growth of the nail itself.
I find the resulting burgundy nail color not aesthetically displeasing, and it has a very different look from nail polish because it's under rather than over the nail. However, it's not a look that I'd consider it safe or prudent to intentionally replicate through the means that provided it the first time, for many reasons for including how it hurt like crazy for the first week due to being literally a giant bruise.
This gets me wondering whether sticking ink under the nail or in the area that the nail grows from would create semi-permanent, un-chippable nail color. A web search for fingernail tattooing has plenty of results for injecting ink into the nail itself, and for drawing nails on where they've been lost, but nothing about recoloring the nail bed the way we'd recolor any other patch of skin.
So, has anyone seen or heard of this being tried, or failing, and thus not attaining web searchability?
Pretty fucking random ik. But im trying to find stuff that has this certain vibe and grey aesthetic and a dead industrial sometimes post-apocalyptic feeling. Im not sure if the term brutalist applies to this genre outside of architecture, but that is how I would describe it. Can't find much online thats similar to these things too.

Both of my big toe nails are a pain - I've had one of them treated before, but he cut away the nail but didn't destroy the matrix.
My big toe nails are very wide, rubbing against the side of my second toe unless I keep them very short, but sometimes it's too short and it ingrown.
I'm also getting my nails snapping down the length close to the side of my nail on the outside of my foot. I think this is because I'm having to dig them out because they are starting to ingrow.
I'm in the UK - can I just request it when they aren't badly ingrown? I'd wait until things settle down a bit with COVID before getting it done as it's not an emergency.

I have damaged my nail from slamming it in a car door when I was a kid. I've since went to a dermatologist and they said they couldn't do much to fix the damage. I can't recall their reasoning exactly but I think they said that likely the matrix was damaged. My question is is this an active field of research and is there work being done that could possibly help my case in the next some number of years or is the field rather dormant?

Just finished my first attempt at both using an e-file and using Luxa Matrix polygel. I found it to be easy to work with and my second hand turned out MUCH better than the hand pictured, even though my non-dominant hand did the second hand. I used less product (was going for a natural look that would hold up better than regular or gel polishes. I have never had acrylic or hard gel applied on me before at all. Hoping I won't have any lifting!
I also tried some nail art with craft acrylic paints and a skinny brush but it looks ...horrible. It's a sad attempt at the Paramore After Laughter logo...

It's extremely cliche but the whole red pill blue pill thing could not be a better metaphor for people like us. Once you take that 'red pill' and realize how much fucked up, horrible, corrupt, evil shit is going on in this world and how it's in every part of our live.. you cannot go back. I have some things to share with you that I feel we need to internalize as a community. This is not hopium, and it is not FUD.
This is somewhere in the middle. Giving a realistic perspective on what's actually going on. And it is important that we grasp the severity of the real situation so no one gets trapped anymore.
And the real reason why MOASS is finally upon us. No hype baiting, no calls to action, no dates.

I know today sucked. I'm mad that I was right. I was hoping it wouldn't be a rug pull. I was hoping the subtle call to action with a time sensitivity that came out of nowhere promising the moon if you do this one thing... would be true.
But we need to learn from this.
I posted 2 posts prior to this one saying to be skeptical about it.
But because neither post went with the narrative being spun, it didn't get any traction. I tried to warn to be cautious of the options trap.
My only thought was.. this looks too perfect. It has to be a trap.
Because MOASS will just fucking happen.. It won't be laid out on the charts. It won't be a subtle bread crumb that we find. It won't be predictable. Someone's not going to come out of nowhere and say "GUYS LOOK AT THIS THING I FOUND IN THE CHART AND IT WILL HAPPEN ON THIS DAY AND ONLY THIS DAY BECAUSE XYZ"...
It will be a sudden violent shift up. It will be a fucking Tsunami that hits everyone by surprise. It will be an asteroid in the dark. A black hole that swallows the entire financial sector and there's not a damned thing they can do to stop it. And not a damned thing any one of us, neither individually nor collectively can do to make it happen any faster.
The only thing I as an individual investor can do to secure the investment that I believe in, is to buy, hold and make sure that share is in my fucking name by direct registering it. That's all. Nothing else.
Options.. somebody show me one law that states MM must hedge with shares which drives a gamma squeeze?
Someone show me a law that states the calls being exercised must be purchased on a lit exchange, and can not be a synthetic fake share that they internalized?
