A list of puns related to "Mycotoxin"
What do you guys think about mycotoxins. They are naturally formed toxins in a lot of foods that arenβt usually harmful but once you have cases like mold exposure then the mycotoxins are fucked. Symptoms are so wide range but for example symptoms that I am currently having are: Cognitive difficulties (e.g. brain fog, poor memory/concentration, anxiety), muscular/joint pain, vertigo/dizziness, mood changes, excessive thirst, hormone imbalances (causing acne, rashes, gynecomastia tenderness), but the absolute worst of them all is Fatigue. Iβm telling you I feel fatigued like an old man with nothing to live for then watching his grandkids play in his back yard. To the point where if I could retire at 21 and sit inside all day and do nothing I would. I also have severe shortness of breath, especially if I donβt take allergy medicine, with no fever so no itβs not covid.
I feel like mycotoxins have only gotten worse over the years as our air becomes more polluted and houses become older with usual water damage and common amounts of mold. Some people have strong enough immune systems to never tell they have significant mycotoxins in their body but I feel it is direct correlation with testosterone levels decreasing and hormones balances being more prevalent. Also brain fog, fatigue, and many other unexplainable symptoms by doctors
I feel like mold isnβt actively worked or researched in the medical field either for quick viable detoxes so people can have their original lives back. Itβs such a prevalent issue too My family and I have all dealt with mold and have heard stories of brains looking as if they are rotting due to mold/fungi. Every doctor I have talked to acts like mold is a foreign subject and in reality I think over 50% of Americans are experiencing some form of mold illness even if itβs mild. This needs to be actively studied more and checked up on regularly especially through puberty when hormones are especially important.
Sorry this was a rant but I never hear people talking about it curious if anyone has thoughts on the subject

My health has been failing since living in a mold infested home for four months from august to December of 2020.
Symptoms:
All other standard tests come back normal. Which is astounding to me. Even had an ultrasound of the liver to check for Wilsonβs. I had the book thrown at me prior to discovering the mold in the home. I have been free from exposure for the majority of the year from any mold and 100% definitely for the last 3 months (I moved to the desert and live outdoors in 10% humidity).
Any suggestions as to how to proceed are welcome. I am particularly curious as to if this (these, rather) is colonized inside me. These tests just show mycotoxins in the system not active mold infection in the body. I am unsure what tests those would be but I am assuming stool. I am also interested in binders for these mycotoxins and how to take them.
All the best from this addled traveler :)
Hi everyone, my 5 year old daughter has developed a very aggressive manifestation of Alopecia Areata Incognito in the last two months. We moved into a very old house over the summer and experienced record rainfalls this year. Thereβs been a lot of humidity. There is visible mold on some of our stuff. I wouldnβt be so suspicious if it werenβt for my 8 year old also developing asthma like symptoms. Iβve been looking for actual research done on the potential connection between mold poisoning and alopecia. There are cursory correlations out there. However, the literature only frames it in terms of general hair loss and not alopecia per se.
Iβd be very curious to learn of anything others have come across.
Just want to know if anyone has had this experience before.
It was an unfortunate case of a young man having seen countless specialists and had countless imaging tests, and Iβm sure out of desperation sent in a sample of his blood to this American site who charged him some $380 for this.
The report was a few pages, the first documenting antibody levels in a colour-coded fashion to various βmycotoxinsβ. I donβt remember the exact names but some were aspergillus related, etc. A recommendation was then made from the results for 6 months of itraconazole βat a minimumβ and amphotericin B nasal spray for likely as long.
The majority of βstudiesβ cited in this report, to give it an air of credibility, which of note was somewhat countered by his starting the report with βeverything here is evidence based and not controversialβ, were written by Dr. Andrew W. Campbell.
I just wanted to get some opinions because much to the patientβs disappointment I did not prescribe either of these medications as I was unable to see the leap from previous exposure to mycotoxins (which I suspect we all have) to an indication for these medications.
Furthermore, if this is some kind of unethical money making scheme from the aforementioned Dr. Campbell, on light of the visible negative effects on my patient in terms of false hope and possible exposure to side effects from unnecessary medications, I am wondering if there any formal channels to investigate this further.
Thanks everyone
I've long heard that nuts and seeds are great nutritious foods but should we be limiting them due to mycotoxins or are those fears overblown? Oats too, for that matter.
Finding this information is so difficult and stressful.
The mold has been removed from our house, now how do i neutralize the toxins on furniture like my couch, my carpets, and clothes? Is the only thing i can do is just buy all new stuff? I have a disabling neurological disorder so i feel kinda scared and there used to be tonnes of mold right above my bedroom door. Thanks.
I have had symptoms of Fibro for over 10 years. Once I developed debilitating dry eye disease in the beginning of this year (only 29 yo), I decided to take a holistic approach because I knew that somehow all of my digestive issues, pain, dry eye, and psychological symptoms were related. I saw a functional medicine doctor and they ran a mycotoxin urine test. Turns out, I have very high levels of Ochratoxin A, which can cause almost any symptom under the sun. I have also lived in many houses with mold issues unfortunately. Just part of being low income and in lots pain/survival mode.
I just wanted to mention it here in hopes that it can help someone. If you think you have toxic mold illness, please pursue getting tested. If you have it, the sooner you can begin to heal. My eye condition is chronic and progressive and I would not wish it upon anyone.
I got my results back from the Great Plains Labs Mycotox urine test and showed I am extremely high for Aflatoxin M1. What supplements should I be taking to recover?
Had anyone looked into this as the potential cause of their bfs?
Looking for anyone that did the urine mycotoxins test, or the online VCS test.
The online vcs test is reliable to biotoxin illness.
Hi my doctor told me roughly 25% of the population can't detox from mycotoxins naturally.
I'm trying to find the gene in Promethease that concludes this, but cannot locate it.
I believe it's called HLA-B27 , or perhaps a different HLA gene. This is very new to me and if anyone knows more please let me know!
Also curious if we can tell more about Celiac Disease using the same method.
Basically what have I learned is that mold and mycotoxins are one of the lesser known but more serious root causes of SIBO and other forms of gut dysbiosis. There is a condition called CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) which basically means your body doesn't properly detox environmental toxins, so all of the toxins you've been exposed to build up overtime which can lead to loads of different health issues. Supposedly, 25% of the population has a gene that makes them susceptible to developing mold sensitivity and CIRS. I theorize this is one of the reasons so many people who have SIBO or IBS can't get rid of it properly despite doing the most effective treatments.
My story: I've done testing and discovered I have a severe amount of mycotoxins in my body due to a bad mold exposure issue I had a few years ago. I'm currently starting a detox treatment and I'm hoping this will help. I've literally done every known SIBO treatment (rifaximin, elemental diet, herbal) with little to no success.
I'm a moldie and after YEARS of trying my last mycotoxin test came back NEGATIVE!!
But someone told me B12 was a binder and if that's true, the results are worthless so I'm trying to figure out if it's true.
Thanks!
Are they even worth it?
Fatigue started 7 years ago but I now realize it was my sinuses. At the same time I developed tired heavy eyes. And researching I found out sinusitis can cause fatigue. I had nasal surgery 1.5 years ago but the swelling is coming back but worse of all is the sinus pressure. My sinuses have inflammation either from mold, reflux or food allergies. Thoughts?
Brain fog, anxiety, depression, dizziness, tinnitus, tingling sensations, mood disorders and other neurological disorders are symptoms of mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are metabolites released by molds, most often associated with water damaged buildings, but also from contaminated foods. Most people are able to detoxify from mycotoxins without any issues, but 25% of the population have genes that prevent their immune system from identifying and eliminating the toxins.
I believe that the first step for anyone struggling with brain fog should be a mold / mycotoxin screening. Great Plains has a comprehensive urine test that screens for common mycotoxins, but is it expensive at around $400.
However, a visual contrast sensitivity test (VCS), is a 5 minute eye test that can provide an initial evaluation of whether there are any toxins affecting someones neurological health. Tests can be performed online for a few dollars at https://www.vcstest.com/ or https://www.survivingmold.com/diagnosis/visual-contrast-sensitivity-vcs . Both websites have more information on mold toxicity and the VCS test.
Hope this information helps members of this subreddit who are struggling to identify the source of their brain fog. I highly recomment taking 5 minutes and a few dollars to do the test, and either identify mold as a potential source of brain fog, or eliminating it as a source.
The Feed Mycotoxin Binders market is estimated to reach USD 100 Million in 2018. The market is expected to grow at noteworthy CAGR around 9% throughout the forecast period and reach around USD 200 Million in 2026.
A rising awareness regarding the merits of protein-rich foods has created a significant upsurge in demand for meat sources like poultry, swine, and ruminants. As the demand for these food sources rises, many livestock operators are putting increasing emphasis on the health of their animals, particularly in terms of nutrition.

The management of mycotoxins is becoming especially prevalent in recent years. Mycotoxins are the product of fungi that has emerged due to various conditions such as high humidity, moisture content, and rainy conditions, among others. Molds can give rise to over 300 types of mycotoxins. vomitoxin, aflatoxin, ochratoxin, fumonisin, and zearalenone are among the most common types of mycotoxins that affect livestock production.
Given the extremely harmful impacts of the symptoms caused due to mycotoxin contamination of animal feed, the feed mycotoxin binders market has gained tremendous traction in recent years, as more and more livestock producers intensify their focus towards improving the palatability and nutritive value of animal feed.
What are mycotoxin binders?
Feed mycotoxin binders, also known as toxin binders, refer to nutritionally inert substances that are added to animal feed solutions in order to bind and stop mycotoxins from affecting the gastrointestinal tract of livestock. These binders work through an adsorption process, which is one of the most well-known mycotoxin detoxification approaches, and reduce the bioavailability of the contaminants.
There are various types of mycotoxin binding agents used for animal feed applications. These include natural adsorbents like aluminosilicates, such as bentonite, HSCAS (hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicates), and zeolite.
The use of toxin binder for animal feed not only helps enhance the health and production of livestock but also improves profitability. This is achieved via the elimination of cost-intensive veterinary services and other expenses related to the management of livestock health.
