A list of puns related to "Muzzle Brake"
NOOB CONFESSION: I pinned and welded a Surefire ProComp on my 14.5 because I liked the way it looked. It wasn't until later that I realized the unintended concussive consequences of my actions when I brought her out to BLM land. So now that I am stuck with my decision, what tips would you have for me when I bring it to a public range? And... How much do you hate me at the range? Please and thank you.
Buying a muzzle brake for a gun I ordered online. Heavy target threaded barrel. If I know the thread pitch do I need to know anything else or am I just talking aesthetic value?
I donβt think it matters but .30 caliber so not anything unique.
Edit: I realize the way I wrote this makes it look like I was asking if I needed the bullet caliber. To clarify I was wondering if you needed barrel diameter in addition to caliber and thread pitch. The answer seems to be you only need bullet caliber and thread pitch unless the brake has a recess that will go over a bit of the barrel.
I want to upgrade my slant muzzle brake. What muzzle brake do you guys recommend??
I have a rather nice muzzle brake that I got an undefined number of years ago that I've been using on my .17 HMR without issue (just for shits and giggles, i.e. aesthetics. I know a muzzle brake on a .17 HMR is pointless).
I'd like to put it on my new .308, but unfortunately it is aluminum, not steel. Does anyone have experience with using aluminum brakes on centerfire rifles? Will this be an issue with the higher power caliber? Will the hot gasses erode the aluminum and eventually destroy it? Or will it be perfectly fine? Am I asking too many questions?
I current have an ugly budget AR with a 16 inch straight barrel with no muzzle device. Should i purchase a muzzle brake and take it to a gunsmith or just buy a new upper through the correct/legal channel? Which way would be more worth it?
I building a 5.56 AKM. I wonder whether 14x1 LH threads or 1/2x28 threads are better, which camp has the best muzzle device? Low key thinking about just putting a bird cage on and being done, but I am looking for recommendations. I am ordering a barrel, and it has the option to be threaded in either/or
Thanks!
Anyone here use slim muzzle devices so the gas block and barrel nut can be removed if necessary? Was considering this idea to have that capability. I couldn't find much, but I was looking at these:
Strike Industries Miller Comp
Faxon Slim Brake
Nordic Components Tactical & Shark Compensator
Yankee Hill Machine Co Low Profile Brake
VG6 Epsilon 556SL (the regular Epsilon advertises flash-hiding so no-go?)
Currently most interested in the Miller Comp; don't really like brakes because of the concussive force.
