A list of puns related to "Multimedia"
Let me start by saying SPOILERS for everything down below. If you're not caught up yet and have not read everything released so far, including Fallen Star, be warned.
So after finishing Fallen Star and being completely caught up on the comics, I have to say I'm starting to see where the multimedia aspect of HR is hurting the era more than helping. I have read everything - all the comics, every level of book. I'm deep into this era and I enjoy all of the connections, however I have several Star Wars friends that are just choosing to consume this era on a surface level; only the adult novels, or only the adult and YA novels. For both of them, Fallen Star was a turning point in realizing they will never enjoy this era if they don't buy into all mediums and crossovers.
Even more disappointing is the realization that it doesn't have to be like this. There is not an inherent problem with crossover media or telling the story through multiple mediums simultaneously. The issue becomes when they choose to conclude or develop certain plots/characters in different mediums, and then expect the reader of a different medium to be as emotionally invested, or worse; they betray the reader's emotional investment by not following through on the threads that have been weaved in a specific medium.
Below are key plots/characters I have issue with how they've crossed over, and where I see an accessibility issue for casual readers:
Introduced: Into the Dark (YA Novel)
Key Plot Conclusion: Marvel Comic Series
Issue: The Drengir were a fascinating enemy for the Jedi. They were a key antagonist in the first YA Novel, Into the Dark. Unfortunately, that's almost the last we hear of them in a novel besides a few side comments in later books. The main Drengir arc then shifts entirely to the Marvel Comic line and Avar Kriss's team. I was shocked when they actually (for now) wrapped up the Drengir arc with the capture of the Great Proginator. There has been critique that the Drengir were a villain who's run ended too soon, that they could've been used more as a plot point/jedi threat. I'll let that go as we don't know if they will return yet in the HR era.
How to fix: Like I'll mention for Avar Kriss below, they should not introduce the Drengir in a novel only for the complete resolution to occur off book. This betrays the reader's emotional investment from Into the Dark, and makes the era inaccessible for those who can't find comic
... keep reading on reddit β‘I went ahead and thought of CFP National title winners:
Alabama: mcu and marvel properties. Have always been around but exploded in success and dominance with a decisive beginning of its current form in the early 2000s. 2007- Nick Saban to Bama, 2008- Iron man. As dominant as they have been lately just go ahead and give them the entire umbrella disney label.
Ohio State: DCEU and DC properties. Historically, was a bit more of the successful program PRE Saban/MCU. Our best/peak (the dark knight trilogy) feels like forever ago. Everyone knows and has an opinion about them... usually not overwhelmingly positive if you ask "whats youre opinion of the DCEU". Comparing modern film properties and its clearly inferior. But theyre clearly adapting and TRYING to get better and replicate marvel (Shazam, james gunn suicide squad).
Clemson: Game of Thrones properties. Immensely and surprisingly successful, more so in the last decade overall than DC properties. Different flavor than the superhero two and thats refreshing for some folks. Extremely polarizing, especially in later seasons. We are waiting its return to glory (spinoffs) but you recognize the main actors everywhere these days.
Georgia: Star wars. Large gaps between greatness, but otherwise solid product. Recently, when they have been at their best (The Force Awakens) they are reminded how long ago it was since they were truly "great". Very successful property. Right person, right day, a star wars fan's passion takes them all. Generally well liked, even when they underacheive high expectations (solo) they bounce back when u least expect it (disney plus series)
LSU: Dreamworks movies. Youll occassionally put out a banger like Shrek, how to train your dragon, madagascar, but for the most part we dont know where to put you. Boss baby, bee movie, megamind... we get it youre edgy and can produce thought invoking, surprisingly good content. But you made a sequel to trolls. Youre irresponsible people and you know it. Part of you wants to watch the world burn if you can stick it to Disney, doesnt it?

Ever wondered - what if multimedia editing were as simple as text manipulation? Simple cut, copy and paste operations. Thanks to VLC and FFMPEG, now you can use GNU Emacs for simple multimedia editing tasks.

I use to enjoy computer art and am curious to know if coding and/or web development skills could possibly compliment someone wanting to be a Multimedia Artist or Animator.
i have 0 knowledge on this subject and i am not an audiophile. i just want the best experience possible with my budget. thank you guys!
Idk whether I should be looking for a vetted b450 (micro) MOBO and an older, used CPU or a newer x570 MOBO and a slightly newer, but used CPUβ¦
Iβm trying for cheap, mostly green/resold first time PC to do heavy multimedia work (including sound production, animation and 3D) and, later on, some gaming.
What used CPU would you recommend? On a b450 or x570?
Iβve heard b450(m)βs tend to be solid, time-tested MOBOβs, but is it worth buying if I could get a more future-proof build for only a little more? But how future proof is it really if AM5 is around the corner? I surely wouldnβt be buying it right out the gate, but I would in around 5-10 years maybeβ¦ Thatβs why I need a solid build to last me.
Asus TUF x570 looks nice and is affordable new (compared to the used market), but the lowest gen. it supports w/o having to mess w/ BIOS (Iβm a noob, donβt want to mess anything up and donβt know anything about select beta BIOSβs) is the 2000 series. Is it worth buying a used 2000 CPU and x570 if a b450(m) and older CPU would get the job done (Idk if they would, since Iβm not so familiar with older CPUs, but I do know I need multithreading [which is why Iβm going with AMD])
Hi,
I've been doing hell lot of research of what head unit to get for my 2012 Nissan Rogue SV and I have finally narrowed it down to this head unit (BOSS Audio BE10ACP). I really like it. Love the size of the screen. Mainly getting it for Apple AirPlay (and because this particular unit is the cheapest compared to others that are ridiculously overpriced for they are).
My concern is about the quality. I will be happy if I get just 2-3 years on it. I'm not too keen about the audio quality (my existing speakers are amazing so I don't know if the unit will reduce the quality in any way). As I said, all I'm looking to get out of this unit is a life of 2-3 years. I really like it. BestBuy has it. But I kinda am worried because the guy at BestBuy got honest with me and told me that his installer has asked him not to try and sell that particular unit because "apparently" people have been returning it due to some issue or the other.
So my reddit fam, I would truly appreciate your brutally honest opinions about this particular unit (or even the 9 inch one BOSS Audio BE9ACP). Do mention how long you've been using it for.
Thanks in advance!
I want to be able to stick stickers and cool photos and swatches and stuff into my sketchbook, but Iβm worried about how all the lumps and bumps will affect the drawing surface later on.
Whatβs your approach to sticking things into a sketchbook?
Hello!
Does anyone know how to download videos on the LumiNUS Multimedia page or Panopto? Tried looking at a few past reddit threads (e.g., https://www.reddit.com/r/nus/comments/jh1o3i/downloading_videos_from_luminus/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/nus/comments/kvsqkm/downloading_multimedia_videos_from_luminus/) and followed the instructions there but it doesn't seem to work for me. Hoping to keep some of the lecture video resources for reference after the sem.
I'm using MacBook as laptop and Chrome as browser!
Thanks in advance :)

Hallo!
Merry Christmas and welcome to OWNE! Iβve spent the last year and half building a new fan site, which will eventually include HOTD and further spin-offs. Itβs a fully-loaded multimedia site complete with 4K episode clips, BTS extras, character guides, locations, houses, histories, timeline, music and more. What started out as a pandemic hobby, quickly turned into an obsession to create the best site within my ability whilst showing my appreciation to the fanbase. This will hopefully serve as a comprehensive visual resource for your continued Thrones fix. I still have a long way to go towards completion but hopefully will be able to in the next few months.
*not intended for mobile browsing as it can load very slowly. Background videos also feature heavily and might not load dependent on browser settings.
Hope you enjoy and appreciate any feedback!
EDIT: turns out it's not a Linux problem, just a broken keyboard and/or KVM switch. Tried on a Windows laptop and got exactly the same issues. I'll leave this post up in case anyone else has a similar problem.
I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS on my desktop. I've got a Cherry CyMotion wired USB keyboard that has a few extra multimedia keys (e.g. vol. up/down, mute, calculator). It started having issues maybe a week ago. I didn't change anything except running updates.
Problem:
I looked at evtest output and I think the keys' "unpressed" (value 0?) is received, but only at the next media key press event, judging by the timestamps:

I've looked for answers to similar issues online, but I could only find people with laptops (not USB keyboards) where the solutions were laptop vendor specific, and there the "key unpressed" seems to never arrive at all so maybe this is a different problem.
What's going on, and how do I fix this? Thanks for any help.
Recently I've been thinking about buying a Nvidia shield but I did my research and the steam deck looks like a viable option for me instead of the shield:
Only question for you guys:
Hooking that thang up to the dock and relaxing on the couch and then taking it everywhere will be a dream.
Please guys I know it's "just a PC" but I really need informed answers
LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
$2,500ish, I donβt need to spend the whole budget.
Rather not
Open to an UltraBook, I would prefer thin and light. Build Quality must be upper tier, performance must be upper tier, battery life is secondary. 4-5 hrs is livable, I know many machines now are reaching 9-10.
Very. I currently have a Lenovo P15, and Iβd rather go thinner and lighter
Pretty sold on a 15β, I would consider a 14β if it has a 10-key pad on the keyboard
No gaming. I will be doing some Video editing, and perhaps some light 3D work.
N/A
Must have a 10-key keypad. Finger-print reader would be a cherry on top, didnβt think Iβd appreciate that, but it is very nice for logging in and other tasks.
Backlit keyboard, my preference is red backlit keys, but that backlit is a minimum
An added bonus would be the ability for me to add a second SSD whether itβs M.2 or NVME or something similar.
I would really like 32GB of RAM, 16GB is passable if other factors are met.β
Must be a PC
