So, long story short. The chain on my snow blower broke. I need a replacement asap. The local big box hardware stores don't keep a stock on hand. Where would be a good place to look?
Baring a local resource. How do I measure my chain so I can order one online?
Thanks you for your time!
P.s. got most of my path cleared before it broke. Just need it for the snows to come here soon.
Model UHT J227F Refurbing and servicing for a friend. That thing is heavy! Most likely a great machine if I can just figure it out. TIA!
I found an ancient Montgomery Ward. I'm going to clean it out, give it a quick spray job, and re-do the wiring. Finding parts for it however is proving, problematic. The selector knob was gaulded on and the only way to remove it was to slice it with an angle grinder and drill out the holding nut. I need to get another one, I assume that a Lincoln selector knob will work, but even those are tricky to find. The leads were shot and I think the stinger and ground-clamp were from the 40s. I'm replacing those as well. I'm going to install DINSE connectors.
Where do I get parts for this thing?
What is mandatory to replace?
I noticed the cooling fins and coils were painted, is this to prevent arcing? Should I hit them with enamel again?
Is there anything else I should be aware of given the images provided?
Edit: If I'm understanding the serial correctly (which I'm probably not) this was made in Jan of 44.
Although I never went to any in the area (only went to the one in Corpus) did anyone ever go to the ones in San Antonio? I remember seeing the Windsor Park one when I took trips to San Antonio with my grandparents as a kid
