A list of puns related to "Mobula"
Ultimate beginner setup?
Mobula 7 detuned with beta flight and a spare aftermarket frame or meteor75 frame.
The major issues with the Mobula 7 is that it is quite punchy when flying in small spaces like a typical house and the frames are quite weak. But it has an adjustable camera and I believe the best battery life. Also has support from the factory for crossfire.
I only just learned of Betaflight, but from my understanding, this is an open source flight controller firmware that overwrites the firmware that comes on the fc, and it allows tweaking of values to make a superb indoor machine. However it allows me to open up its response later in the firmware if I start using it in bigger spaces.
A big pitfall Iβve read of the Mobula 7 is its frames, I figure another compatible frame should fox this like the meteor frames from a BetaFPV drone. This would only be done after breaking the frame though, they may be more durable and/or I may just never break kit out of luck.
Alternative
Mobula 7 HDZero digital tiny whoop
Aside from the frame, the additional weight may make it manageable indoors from the beginning. If not, then beta flight.
Would need some special shark byte goggles and there is also a set of HDZero integrated goggles that are being made now with first release or test run in may.
Tiny Whoops with deal breakers -
BetaFPV Meteor line- Non adjustable camera
Acrobee line - Non adjustable camera
GEPRC Phantom - No prop guards/ducts
Tiny whoops missing crossfire receiver from the factory -
Tiny Hawk 2 (my original choice)
Eachine Trashcan
Additional info: Iβm not sure that I want to pay $60 for a multi module add on for my tango to force it to a Tiny Hawk or Trashcan rather than putting that money into the goggles. Also have no soldering experience to add it to the drone itself.
Intended Flying locations
70% small spaces indoors 20% larger spaces indoors (warehouse or office outside of work hours) 10% outdoors

I saw that on this page of happymodel there is besides the original Mobula 6 firmware and Betflight 3.5.7 diff also a Betfaflight 4.3.0 diff for a DSM2/DSMX version.
So can I use the PID and filter parts of the diff on a standard (FrSky) version of the Mobula 6 (upgraded to Betfalight 4.3.0 of course) or are there also some other differences besides the Rx?
PS: I hope this is not a dumb question, as I am still a bit new to this hobby.
This is my first drone. I havenβt even flown it yet. Iβm still waiting for my preordered RadioMaster Zorro with built in ELRS to come. I really wanted a Tiny Whoop and ELRS built in. I didnβt want to have to mess with modules and receivers so thatβs why I didnβt get the HD Mobula 6 (or was it 7?). I donβt think you can get it with ELRS built in yet.
So now Iβm wondering if thereβs a way to strap on a tiny camera so I can record some halfway decent footage.
This thing is so small and it has that dome shape so Iβm kind of doubting itβs doable but I thought Iβd ask anyway.
Short Story: I flashed new firmware onto mine without getting the dump/diff files and I canβt get it back to how it was, and need the original files if someone has them. I forgot, Iβm an idiot and need help! Thanks.
Itβs not HD
Its not ELRS
It is DSMX/DSM2
Long story: Got a Mobula6 for Christmas. It was running betaflight 4.3.0β¦. Had some issues binding, but figured out I could only bind in DSM2 instead of DSMX on my new version DX7.
So once I got it bound, I checked the receiver section and couldnβt get TAER1234 to work worth anything. Only my yaw and pitch showed anything and only showed in aux 3 and 7. No matter what I tried. I have an indictrix and a wizard running the TAER1234 and they work, so receiver seemed fine. And figured it was the drone and the high level of betaflight it was running
So, I figured because I was using Betaflight 7.1, Iβd upgradeβ¦. then once I used 8.0, I got it flashed it lower firmware, and reinstalled Betaflight 7.1. But now I donβt show any receiver and canβt get the configuration right. So, looking for the files. Please help if you can!
Edit 1. I flashed the firmware from their website. The 4.3 thatβs linked below. It worked. And it worked to setup with dsmx! But, there wasnβt a camera or a camera table and a few other things werenβt set right.
Right now I can bind it and set channels for stuff, but rates are way off or something because once I are it, and itβs not 100%, it freaks out and tries to get straight, then shuts off. (Maybe some sort of turtle mode, Iβm still working on it)
So, still looking for an original from the factory setup to use hex/diff/dump and go from there.
Edit 2. Happymodel came through! They sent me the firmware and the dump to throw in it. I was able to bind in dsmx and set it all up. I havenβt tried the video yet, but hoping that it works great and this is the solution. Iβll link to the files tomorrow when I have a place to share them from!
So here is the stock hex 4.3.0 file to flash the firmware. And then also the diff file to drop in once the firmware is up to 4.3.0. You'll probably have to use Betaflight 10.8.0 RC1 to work on it, that's what I did.
here's the hex here
here's the diff here
Hi all, I have a mobula 6 DSMX version with built-in CrazybeeX DXS. I cannot get the quad to enter bind mode. I flashed the latest firmware. The light on the bottom is just flashing slow green. I have tried pushing / holding the bind button, plugging it in while holding bind button. When I put in "bind_rx" in CLI, I get "###ERROR: bind_rx: Not supported.###". Nothing changes the light. I have tried binding my TX16s to it with the light as currently is and no luck.
Receiver is set as "SPI RX support" & SPEKTRUM
Any ideas? Thanks!
I have a few quads and have been trying to build a digital whoop. I have a mobula 7 and the camera on it is very blurry since I got it, assuming out of focus so I had an idea of slapping hdzero on it, has anyone done that before? I was thinking of just removing the cam and getting a new canopy, mount the whoop board, and solder to a uart. Any reason this wouldn't work? Anyone else have experience with HDzero in small form factor?
So I bought a mob 6 elrs. Transferred the flight controller onto my uz80.Iβm using a jumper t lite with happymodel elrs module. It flies really well but every now and then it will just decide to try to flip and usually ends up in a crash. Iβm scared to fly it now. Anybody else had this experience and know the cause? Any help is greatly appreciated
Hey hey
i own a Mobula 7 HD for ~1 year now but i didn't fly it for atleast 6 months. It's my first drone and i own 3x3s(300mah) and 2x2s(600mah) batteries. Sadly as soon as i start using my 3s batteries i get the land now prompt and after a few secs the shown voltage drops to 9,6V from the 11,9 at start. The two 2s work fine and hold for a few minutes.
Betaflight configurator detects the battery as a 3s when i plug it in.
Betaflight Config 10.7.0 / BTFL 4.2.9
-Minimum Cell Voltage 3,3
-Maximum Cell Voltage 4,5
-Warning Cell Voltage 3,5
-Capacity (mAh) 0
Are the all dead is there a way to rescue them and what can i do to prevent that from happening again?
edit: the 3s are 300mah not 800 LUL
I was watching many videos on youtube how to make mobula 6 better with 75mm frame (link1) (link2) (link3) (link4)(link5). I've moved mine. And while I was able to take off - I can't really fly. Vibrations make it super uncomfortable to fly. I haven't found that anyone from videos above had mentioned that effect, so I assume it's problem with mine only. Does anyone know how to fix that?
Thanks
Did like 8 hours of research today for my first tiny whoop. The goal is to get a drone here in 2 weeks for a friend as a gift. I decided on the Mobula 6 (because it's cheap) and now I need some goggles and a controller. I don't know where to start (only 1 day learning about drones). Any suggestions for budget controller and goggles? They don't need to last years or be high tech, just good, cheaper starting gear. Also, anything else I'm unaware of? Drone, some extra 1s batteries, goggles, transmitter..?? Someone said an 18500 battery or something like that. Thanks ahead of time!
If you happen to have a better suggestion for a drone in that same budget range, let me know! Never had a tiny whoop before. It will be used for around the house goofing off, and backyard going through hula hoop shenanigans.
Edit: Just want to let him fly it in 2 weeks. I'll actually be giving it to him later this year when he can use it, otherwise I'd just get him a full kit for sake of ease.
I have a Mobula 6 and have been planning on upgrading it into a 2 or 2.5inch drone. Currently eyeing the BetaFPV 13500kv motors along with some Emax Avan Rush props. I'll just 3D print the frame, that way I can have as much as I'd like.
Seems like a really simple conversion, I don't even need to worry about soldering since the motors would come with JST 1.25 connectors. Question is, how would I improve the range of both VTX and RX of the Crazybee F4 Lite board? Is there a way to upgrade the antenna? Completely new at the moment, unsure what performance to expect with this build. Would like some pointers before I pull the trigger on parts.
Hey guys wondering which whoop you would recommend for a beginner, tinyhawk 2, mobula 6 or the new acrobee65 v3. I know the tinyhawk 2 is in a class of its own as it has a bigger frame but I hear that it can really take a beating on crashes, which is really important to me as a beginner and why Iβm not considering moblites.
Also I only really care about flying acro not angle mode.
TLDR: looking for a beginner, crash-friendly drone for indoor and occasionally outdoor flying (can forego outdoor if thatβs not an option). Which whoop should I get?
I've got jumper t-lite and I'm not able to bind with Mobula 6 HAMO/CRAZYBEEF4FS(STM32F411) ) with flysky spi rx, I have tried both flysky and flyskyA2 and all jumper flysky subtypes.
I'm running BF 4.1.2

... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm still waiting on my transmitter module to come in but I got my ELRS Mobula 6 in yesterday and tried hooking up to Betaflight to play around with settings. After it connected I got a pop up message saying that my configurator was out of date and I risked bricking my FC if I changed anything even though the version it was calling for was the same one I had installed. I un and reinstalled anyway just to be safe and I'm getting the same message. Am I gonna brick my new toy if I try to reorganize my OSD or is BF just trippin?
EDIT: I plugged my old FRSky Mob 6 in just to check and got no messages
