A list of puns related to "Microtone"
a friend created a scale with microtones and I want to know if there's an app in which I can synthesize the sound with the exact cents for the microtones
let's say if I created a scale that goes
440Hz, 520Hz, 622Hz and 690 Hz
I want an app in which I can just put these informations about the frequencies and hear the sounds individually (or collectively)
Is there anything like that, for PC preferably?
I like very much this song. It has a strange exotic kind of mystical scent. Is it because of microtonality?

Any ideas of how or where I could get sheet music or something that lets me graphically see what is happening on this song? What mode? the melodic line?
thanks.
https://youtu.be/_EBzd3blvDs In this video, the chord progressions of Gians Steps has been taken and adjusted so as to make every note ratios of each other whilst maintaining the locked in feeling of tone, hence giving rise to a syntonic Comma after one circle, descending throughout the whole song
has anyone ever done anything like this or heard of something like this?
I dream that there's some kind of logic to figuring out the harmony of the accompaniment, such that it modulates all the 12-TET music, decontextualizing it, making it seem alien.
There was a New York times article today about a musical instrument competition and what really caught my ear was this fun customizable microtonal guitar made by a Turkish musician and his young child. You install special Lego pieces onto a custom "classical guitar" fretboard to either give it normal western guitar frets or microtonal frets in order to learn music theory from other traditions.
There's a video about it on YouTube- It's both a cool human interest story and also a very cool music teaching idea:

I don't have any examples in mind but I believe there are movable fret instruments in the world which would be a little more conventional looking. I think they are something like fretless fingerboards with wire frets that you can move up and down depending on your needs. This Lego design lets you put individual one note "frets" exactly where you want them in a scale. They use an example of teaching a child the difference between a major and minor scale by setting up the fingerboard to only have frets where the notes in the scale are, as a visual reference.
By new fan I mean since rats nest, but still.

Some of their songs have a realy strong eastern feel. Do they use standard western notes or do they incorporate some microtones to achieve that? (Idk much about music theory stuff at all. I only know about microtones cuz of King Gizzard's use of them) thanks guys :)
It sounds like them but I could be wrong.
Hereβs the song in question: https://youtu.be/1yFh3e-FZoQ
The one I found is outdated, doesn't work, and only works for MuseScore 2. Any newer plugins?
How do you notate microtones that go beyond just quarter tones/24 TET for example 313 TET that artist Sevish uses in this: https://youtu.be/Gcgawrr2xao How would you notate this in sheet music or some other visual medium that is more objective audio?
I know you guys are probably shocked by the title, but I'm kinda tired of microtones with KG and LW.. ...I just want King Gizz to kinda explore new horizons. And I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of flack for saying this, but NME was right for saying that "[King Gizzard] aren't moving forward, but sideways". They kind of are.. ...I just wish they would do something else. They've been on microtones for a while, and I'm just getting kind of microtone'd out, honestly
sorry for the long incomprehensible rant, I'm just getting tired of it all
Not sure best way to start? I have Logic Pro, a Korg Minilogue, an electric guitar, a mic, and a midi keyboard.
I've listened to Flying Microtonal Banana so many times as it's one of my favourite albums, but I've never been able to pick out any specific parts to the microtonal range that I know it has. To me it just seems like a normal sounding album. I don't really have a great ear for pitch, so I think that might be the problem.
Maybe I'm just expecting more when it comes to microtones. I know the difference between the microtones and semitones probably wouldn't be much but I feel like I should be able to notice some slight difference but I can't.
There are of course a handful of songs on Sketches and I think one or two on Nonagon. Oh and Gumboot Soup too.
Am I missing anything else?
If there is a list with all their microtonal songs could someone link it in this comments please? Thanks a lot x
Hello everyone! I am new here so please excuse me if this has already been answered. I am extremely interested in building a 24 EDO electric guitar, but am not sure where to start. I would like to buy a premade fretboard, but cannot seem to find a good place to buy one. I started at metatonal.com but their wait time is very long. Free note also has them, but they are VERY expensive. I am also interested in a neck that has an interchangeable fret board. Worst case scenario, I could insert the frets myself but I would rather buy them preinstalled. Very grateful for any pointers and recommendations!

Skip ahead to 2:20 in the video, the part where she says βyouβll do anything for me.β Sounds microtonal to me and I canβt find the notes on my piano.
