It's the hardest one to pass.

A doctor, who was just newly a dad, decided to give a medical school lecture on the human reproductive system and what he learned throughout his partner's pregnancy. When a student asked what the correct pronunciation of ovaries is, he shrugged and said:

Oh, varies.

Medical student dad joke

On my surgery clerkship, rounding on patients with the chief surgeon. Fellow student accidentally knocks over an eraser from a chalkboard.

Surgeon: Watch where you're going. Surgery is not a game.

Student: But Operation is.

Everyone laughs, except the surgeon.

Student: I'm going to fail my rotation now aren't I?

My son had an ingrown toenail treated.

The doctor's office was associated with the local medical college, so there were a couple of med students watching the senior doctor work on my son's toe. He loaded up a syringe with anesthetic and injected in multiple places, explaining that he was doing this to achieve digital blocking (that is, numbing the entire digit, namely the toe).

After it was done they left the nurse to bandage my son up, and he said, "Dad? What did he mean by digital blocking?"

"Well, when you weren't looking he hooked your toe up to a USB port and downloaded some MP3s into it. If you hold your foot close to your ear you can hear "Laaaaa, aaaaa aa aaaaah, close to you.""

The nurse stared at me and turned to my son. "Is he always like this?"

He silently nodded, looking at the floor...

After I lectured

Today I lectured to medical students. I invited a fellow faculty member to the lecture, but did not see him. His name is Gene.

The lecture was on pain processing. Part of the lecture covers the role of CGRP, or calcitonin gene-related peptide.

The email I get after lecture:
"Nice job. I didn't even know that I was related to calcitonin peptide!"

A father and her disappointing daughter.

So there's a girl, who just graduated from High School as an honors student but just a few A's away from making Valedictorian. After her graduation, her father walks up to her and says "you've let me down."

The girl goes to medical school. Once again, she graduates near the top of her class but isn't the top of her class. The father walks up to her and says "you've let me down."

The girl was nominated for a big promotion in her hospital but was just a few marks away from securing it. Her father walks up to her and says "you've let me down."

Years pass. The woman has grown to hate her father. One day, she receives a letter saying her father had passed away. Forgetting all of her hate, she gets on the next flight to her mother's home.

As soon as she arrives, her mother hands her a letter detailing one final request from her father.

"At my funeral, I would like to have my daughter lower my body into my grave so she can let me down one more time."

EDIT: Grammar, wording, etc.
