A list of puns related to "Meatless"
I LOVE IT.
It's heavily spiced, just like I would make my own food at home, I love deep seasoning. To me, it tastes like extremely well seasoned ground beef, I would 100% order again. The sofritos always tasted like soy to me, but this? Holy fuck I'm impressed
Bowl: (Chorizo)
White rice
Beans, half & half
Fajitas
Corn salsa
tomato salsa
salsa verde
sour cream
cheese
lettuce
Chips & guac (free)
Also, shout out to the employee that packed my bowl, they filled that thing to the brim. 10/10 score on the meatless chorizo, chip's
I need more ideas for meatless meals. Trying to eat less meat to save money and other reasons but am lacking variety since I only know a couple good recipes.
We tried all sorts of different things. The kids (early elementary) just seem to have sensitive taste buds or something because they despise the wonderful dishes we make. I think a lot of meatless meals rely on lots of spices and herbs that is to much for them. We tried toning it down, but still nothing. So far they only like steamed veggies with salt. I'm beyond frustrated at this point!
Edit: Wow super overwhelmed, thank you! Something came up right after posting so sorry for no replies.
Iโm an omnivore who would love to take the plunge into more environmentally conscious protein options, but Iโm just too chicken (heh, punsโฆ) to try cooking โmeatless meatโ myself in case it turns out awful and makes me never want to try it again. I know a lot of restaurants have an โimpossible burgerโ as a option, so my question is, whatโs the restaurant(s) that can REALLY do it well and get me hooked?
Worker at my store hasnโt seen them in awhile. โน๏ธ has anybody heard of/when theyโre coming back?
I have some Tuscan kale, old red cabbage that might be dead, peppers, assorted legumes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tortillas, pasta and grains in the cupboard. Some parsley, cilantro. And random other bits
Any ideas? Nothing is singing to me today, always like to go a bit extra on a Friday night
Thanks :)
But dont worry my local council has a plan. Whilst still operating a bus service that never turns up theyre gonna just remove all the car parks!
Lucky its still cheaper to get 2 ubers than the bus...
making mondays (taste) great again with allll the veggies!!
meat is always the most expensive ingredient in week day meals. For making meatless Mondays as flavorful as any other night of the week, you need all the veggie flavor profiles you can get -- the more the merrier :)
this is a great meal to make because you can roast all the veggies on one pan (minimal mess making), and throw whatever leftovers you have in your fridge on top. makes enough veggies for at least 3 bowls, so youโll have lunch for the next two days. You can use frozen cauliflower or brussels if you're ballin' on a budget, just make sure to defrost before roasting!
ingredients:
recipe:ย Preheat oven to 450. Cut Brussels in half and sweet potatoes into fourths, break up cauliflower florets into smaller pieces. Put everything onto a pan and drizzle with olive oil and salt. For the Brussels and cauliflower: also sprinkle garlic, pepper, and whatever other spices you want (I like cumin and chili & curry powder on the cauliflower). bake the veggies for about 20-25 minutes, depending on desired crispiness. The sweet potatoes will need an extra ten minutes or so. When the veggies are done cooking, make your bowls! Toppings are essential, I always love tomatoes and cucumbers for some fresher flavors, plus goat cheese for some tanginess. Use whatever dressing you want on top to bring everything together โ balsamic glaze/dressing always slaps!
Iโd love to hear your suggestions for other veggies or toppings to add โ especially if you have some suggestions to add crunch like croutons?? hope you all give it a try! :)
Shares of Beyond Meat (Nasdaq: BYND) jumped 9.06% in after-hours trading on Tuesday after the plant-based meat producer announced that its meatless chicken will be available at KFC restaurants nationwide starting on Monday.
Background: KFC, which is owned by Yum Brands (NYSE: YUM), has been testing plant-based chicken from Beyond Meat since 2019. In fact, Beyond Meat has provided plant-based chicken to Panda Express.
Timing: The nationwide introduction of the meatless chicken, which is available for a limited time, coincides with consumers trying to eat healthier to accomplish New Yearโs resolutions.
Big Picture: Beyond Meats had a lackluster 2021, with shares down 50% last year. Meanwhile, Yum Brands was up 29% in 2021.
Final Thoughts: Beyond Meat is still not profitable, but hopes to achieve that next year.

Strange question, I'm aware, but it does warrant my curiosity.
Every conservative I've spoken with is adamantly against veganism, "meatless Mondays", etc. Of course, I'm not attributing it to the "big truck/beer/'Murica/burgers" stereotype - if anything I would guess it had to do with. being leery of suspecting that one is being slowly conditioned into eating bugs after Agenda 2030. That said, I don't want to make any assumptions. I could be dead wrong and maybe some of y'all just don't like meatless things.
I don't know, let me know if I'm totally wrong or if I'm onto something.
Hey folks, I am looking to make Chili for a company chili cook off and want to make one that is vegan but still has a protein element so it will be more satisfying to meat eaters (like myself).
I like a lot of vegan meat alternatives in general, but donโt know how well many of the products would work in a chili.
My first thoughts were about crumbled Impossible burger, or canned jack fruit. Morning Star products have seemed to work for me but they get soft and gelatinous after a few hours in sauces.
Anybody have a favorite meat substitute and perhaps a few bits about using it in chili?
It is easy but I wrote are a lot of written steps, so it might look complicated. To help you visualize, here is a link to a video showing this being prepared.
For the meatless balls
For the crust
ยฝ cup of starch
1 tsp - 1 tbs onion powder (to taste)
1 tsp - 1 tbs garlic powder (to taste)
1 tsp - 1 tbs chili powder (to taste) (optional)
1 cup of bread crumbs/panko
1 cup milk or plant based milk
For the sweet and sour sauce
base
+
slurry
Directions
Drain the water from the package of tofu.
Place between a dish towel and place something heavy upon it.
Let the tofu press for 30 - 60 minutes while you prepare the rest of your ingredients.
Prepare the crust
Combine ยฝ cup of starch with the spices and sift. Set aside.
Pour 1 cup of milk or plant based milk in a bowl and set next to the starch.
Pour 1 cup of bread crumbs into a bowl and set that next to the milk.
Prepare the sweet and sour sauce
Combine the sugar, vinegar, catsup and soy sauce in a bowl and stir to dissolve the catsup and sugar. If the sugar does not dissolve, you can heat it in a small sauce pan.
Combine 1 cup liquid with the starch and stir to dissolve. (The starch will settle at the bottom. This is normal.)
For the meatless balls
Peel and mince your vegetables. The smaller the cut, the easier they are to incorporate into the mixture.
When the tofu has pressed, crumble it in a bowl and mix in the vegetables.
Add ยผ cup of starch and mix. Squeeze a handful of the mixture in your hand. If it holds together, shape into balls. If not, add more starch until you can form balls. You can also press the mixture into shapes.
Roll the balls in the spiced starch.
Dip the balls into the milk.
Coat the balls in the bread crumbs and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan to fry.
Fry the tofu balls in the hot oil until well browned.
Drain on paper tow
So i am picking up worse than i was before with regard to weight loss. I dont know if this is feasible but i want to be under 200 by december, im 250 right now at 5'5
Anyways, started fasting - IF/OMAD/thinking ADF for the most part Im about a week in, which makes me super nervous to post as im afraid it is juat new years motivation hahaha
But i was thinking going lower carb, as that way thw insulin spike isnt as bad during my non fasting.
But i was wondering about beans/lentils/tofu/tvp as my protein. I know beans are crazy high in carbs, so keto is out of the question, however according to all knowing google, the fiber content makes up a large portion of the carbs which brings the net down drastically. (For my 2mad off 40hr fast today i made a vegan alfredo sauce with 4tbsp flour, olive oil, unsweetened coconut milk, garlic pepper onion peppers and brocoli over some beyond meat sausage and black bean pasta. For like the large portion about 2000 cal that i couldnt finosh, but the carb amount shows very high still on mfp.
Am i able to go "low carb" consuming so much bean product haha
Hosting a family girls night next weekend and Iโd love to get some appetizers to snack on (1-2 hours before a meal.) Thereโs 6 of us, Iโm thinking 4 items. Only restrictions no meat or fish. Lemme know your favorites please! ๐
Why is there even meatless monday if there are literally only four people in the selected dining hall during those days. The workers probably cook the same amount of food as the other days and all that food definitely goes wasted with the emptiness during meatless Monday. Not trying to sound condescending or anything but there are so many omnivorous students compared to plant-eaters at USC. It just makes so much more sense to remove this pointless weekly event.
