A list of puns related to "Maplestory"
I was a bit tad hopeful about how Nexon will try to attempt to help in these situations. But I still see no changes but neglect.
The fact that they said they will give out another detailed message for us in the following week (This week) they really are milking us out of all the time we have like they do in-game. It's crazy how if this were to happen to any other game company, they will try to get back to us ASAP. It's Thursday almost the end of the week and we still haven't heard anything from them.
I also see so many people making fun of the boycott, seeing big streamers also making fun of it. I don't get it. People are really alright playing this game that is broken half the time and spending money on it.
I've spent over an annual salary of a Nexon employee on this game and they still can't fix shit.
I uninstalled the game, left all the discords that relate to Maplestory. I don't think I will check Reddit anymore either.
Take care. I will see y'all in Lost Ark and Valorant!]
EDIT: After reading the memo, I regret making this post... SIKE I FKING LIED. IM OUT OF HERE. get this dog company outta here. 50% decrease in spawn and 20% reduction in SF like wut???????????????????????????????
EDIT: Good luck to everyone else who is still gonna play! I wish yall the best c:
Some people say boycotting will probably cause GMS to shut down, so do you guys care if that happens?
I certainly donβt. If Nexon refuse to negotiate then shuts down because of players leaving then so be it. After all Maplestory is just another game and I donβt need it to survive. I can just play something else.
Edit: This is not to say there is no point to protest. My point is that Nexon has more to lose than players because Maplestory is just an entertainment product and if Nexon doesn't listen to their customers, then they will constantly lose money.
Hi everyone! I've always had a hard time finding good guides. I've found videos obviously (shout-out to Coppersan and other Maplestory streamers and youtubers) but finding a text guide is hard.
So I made a simple one, this mostly started out for myself cause I got tired of looking at videos to double check I was where I need to be.
I have used this guide to level 23 characters, I have 4k+ legion and I feel like I might slightly know what I'm talking about. My main is lvl 245. Anyways, here's the guide:
10-30 Various Golems
30-40 Shaded Dump Site
40-50 Mr. Hazardβs Lair 3
50-60 Wild Boar Land
60-70 Copper Drake
70-80 Stairway to the Sky 1
80-85 Icy Valley 2
85-95 Sahel 2
95-100 Lab Area C-3
100-105 Zakum (If you're burning and have 2x and a rune, zak will get you from 100 to 115, then just do 115-120 at Pianus)
105-110 Sky Nest 2
*110-120 Pianus
*If no Pianus are around or you don't want to do it, you can go to Robos in Ludi until 120 (Toy Factory <Apparatus Room>)
Starforce 30
120-130 Warped Path of Time 4
130-140 KFT
140-145 Red-Nose Pirate Den 2
Starforce to 70
145-160/170 Kerning Tower
Starforce as much as you can, try to get a CHT run (necklace and ring), zak face and eyes. If you plan on taking this character past 200 I'd recommend doing magnus/cpb/ark pres at this point and getting carried.
160/170-190 Aliens; Corridor 203 or H01. Personally I've never done H01 because I've found the exp rate to be not that different and the difficulty to be much higher.
190-199 Forsaken Excavation Site 2
199-200 Scrapyard Pre-quests (should get you 70-90% of the way depending)
200-205 Below the Cave
*205-206 Reverse City Questline
*206-210 Hidden Research Train
*Alternatively if you donβt want to do reverse city you can just stay at Below the Cave
210-215 Slurpy Forest Depths
215 and a half; Yum Yum Island Quests
215-220 Hidden Illiard Field
220-225 Revelation Place 3
**Everything from here on is highly dependent on Arcane Power. You want to 1-2 hit mobs. Check your xp rates using Battle Analysis. Honestly one hitting mobs will probably be better than two hitting.
If you plan on leveling past 230 I would make sure you have full legendary gear, 15 starred abso and faf at least :) If you're able too I would get a secondary set of rings for meso obtained % for leveling.
**225-230 The Forest of Earth
**230-240 CLP (Cavern Lower Path)
**240-245 CLP/Mirror-Touched Sea 2/Mirror-Touched Sea 4
**245-250 Star-S

What would you change in the game to make it more enjoyable?
I would overhaul the movement system, because i feel like the movement in the game is very rigid and constrained, I think that thief classes especially would benefit from a movement system that would feel more fluid, and maybe give them skills that complement their movement speed.
For me personally it would probably be Phantom. I feel like being able to copy techniques that flawlessly, even magic, would be very handy and interesting. Plus cool private air ship!
I'm currently searching for a new mmo and heard a lot of good things about Maplestory, but I also heard, that the game becomes p2w after a while and I really dont want to much money to play the game on a good level so I wanted to ask a few experienced players about there opinion about this topic.
I'm honestly very curious :3
It's always the same short Korean kpop style hairs that they all look the same, wouldn't be surprised if they just moved each "new" short hair 1 pixel per new release. I mean I get its probably to cater towards the Korean whales since most of them would have that hairstyle, but since the game is anime asthetic, it would be nice to actually have more than 5 male anime hairs vs like 60/80 variations with miniscule difference of the same short hairstyle
Day 1 - Get Quest Items from NPCs: Exciting Sugar - Lollipop kid in front of the clock building in Edelstein Exciting Milk - Pam in Leafre (House next to MNN sign) Exciting Egg - Athena Pierce in Henesys
Day 2 - Go to Maps: Go to 'Aqua Road: Snowy Whale's Island' , talk to Cassandra via the Star Quest Go to 'Orbis: Orbis Tower <7th Floor> , talk to Cassandra via the Star Quest Go to 'Minar Forest: Cave of Life - Entrance' (HT Boss Teleport), talk to Cassandra via the Star Quest
Day 3 - Get Items: Get 1 'Yellow Belt' from Grizzly' in Mu Lung Get 1 'Star Pixie's Starpiece' from 'Star Pixie' in Orbis Get 1 'Eyedrop' from an NPC Shop
Hidden Mission: Sit on the chair (Day 3 Reward) and talk to 'Tae Soo' in 'Mu Lung Garden: Peach Farm 1'

Figured Iβd update this project with everyone considering the amount of hate I got last time.
First off this is a custom βremote desktop connectionβ from computer to switch that I am personally developing.
ββ
Updated features from the last post:
-Touchscreen works, and since stylusβ work itβs easy menu navigation as well as inventory navigation.
-Supports 1080p now (need strong connection of course)
-Can connect without being on the same network connection given that you write down your public computer ID, as you can manually update the IP in the home brew application now.
-Supports joycons, and now Xbox 360/1 controllers, and PS4 controllers.
ββ
Overall if you have a strong connection it works well and especially with a class like Lara where you just jump and use veins the leveling has been simple with inventory touch improvements.
Currently not something Iβm looking at releasing to the wild as modified Nintendo Switches require soldering and other modifications, however that may change.
Posting update for funsies since apparently it was all fake last time I posted my first beta version :)

So Maplestory was a huge musical inspiration for me back in the day. I'm a beginner--what sort of VSTs should I be looking for to sort of capture that sound (example song)? I feel like I need some sort of synth, but I don't know how to get that nice round sound in a lot of Maplestory music. FlyFF music was also very inspiring to me.
And it seems like I would need a mid-tier orchestral VST--where the instruments sound pretty good but also a little fake like in the Maplestory example song, any recommendations appreciated! Thanks!
Hello everyone. Apologies for the long post, but in light of recent events, I just wanted to speak on what had been in my mind for the past couple years about this game.
First things first: I am not endgame reboot level 420 Black Mage solo player by any means. I am just a casual ish player with highest character at level 240. But I have played the game for many years though, on and off mostly after Kinesis release (have been playing semi-seriously ever since), but I have played pre Big Bang as well. However I can say that nostalgia is not the only reason why I play this game.
Before anything else, I would like to say that I absolutely adore this game from purely a game perspective. The character designs are amazing. I love (most of) the boss mechanics, and most importantly, the skills of players and bosses are top tier aesthetics wise. MMORPGs are my absolute favourite type of game, and Maplestory scratches that RPG itch that I always seem to have. That brings me to my next point, the fact that this game, is probably the last big 2D MMO game that will ever scratch that itch.
2D games, and so in turn 2D MMOs, are in a weird place in modern times. They are definitely not as popular as they used to be, as more and more people move onto 3D and onwards (VR). Donβt get me wrong, 3D games are the bomb. There are so many games that I love that are fully 3D or 2.5D even. But to me, 2D games just have that βcharmβ to them that I cannot explain. We play Maple; you should know what I am talking about. Look at heroβs World Reaver. Can you make that look that cool in 3D? This is also true for other media such as animation. Both 2D and 3D can do things that the other canβt. 3D isnβt a one up of 2D - They are different forms of art style, and people have their preferences.
This is just personal opinion now, but I tend to prefer 2D games. Take a look at PokΓ©mon for example: in my opinion, the games started losing their βmagicβ when they transitioned into 3D starting from X and Y. I am sure this is why many of us like Maplestory that much. It is unique in the sense that not many MMOs in the modern era went for a 2D look, making the skills, mechanics, maps, etc. in this game so unique and memorable. And donβt get me started on the music. It is some of the best music I have heard in video games, but that is besides the point.
And that is why, I am upset about the state of the game, or rather the state GMS has always been in, especially in recent times. If we lose maple,

Lol so this is like 12+ years later but i've been thinking about a friend i made in MapleStory a long time ago, was wondering if he might be here or someone could direct me to a place to find old friends.
We'd hang out in 2009-2010 in Khaini oftentimes, his character was named 0crow0 and he'd tell cool stories about growing up on a farm. We were in the same guild (tbh i forget what it was called) and we happened to say the same thing at the same time and hit it off after that. If it helps, my character was a cleric named JVlaplexTree and I said my name was Claire. (Got spooked about giving my real name at the time since i was 12 back then lol)
Post the hottest Maplestory takes you have / have heard I'll start: Two dudes tried to convince me that Kanna isn't actually that good - they were both Kanna mains
On some Maplestory forum post recently I saw a guy complaining about the login music saying it sucks and it's a thing of the past and nexon should move on - I disagreed
Long time ago I heard:
Why did Mushdad divorce Mushmom?
Because she was always at someone else's house
My maplestory keeps freezing my pc after playing it, sometimes it takes an hour sometimes 5 minutes. I launch the game and everything is fine and then the game just freezes and my whole PC afterwards, can't even force close the game as all apps are frozen and I can't even reboot without using the button on my pc.. Mouse still works but with lag.
Never had this problem before, it started a week ago and I have no idea why. All drivers are up to date including my BIOS, no overheating hardware or high cpu/gpu/ram usage, although in Task manager it does say that maplestory has very high power consumption. Would love some help if anyone is experiencing this issue too
Maybe I'm wrong because I've only returned a week ago. I quit Runescape recently to play this game.
Of course Maplestory isn't a game as large as it once was. But let's compare Runescape 3, a game that's older than Maplestory and has some similarities (being an RPG game). I know OSRS has way more players but even a small-ish game like RS3 has way more presence on Youtube and Twitch content creation.
I'm pretty sure Maple is still among the leading games in Korea. When I look at Maplestory videos on Youtube, the biggest channels get around 10k new video views while RS3 gets around 50k on their new videos. On Twitch, you see ~8 streamers with > 20 viewers at once and around 10 pages of all streamers. While RS3 gets around 15+ with 20+ viewers and you have to scroll down further to see all of them.
Relative to population size, does Maplestory lack the content creation media presence on Twitch and Youtube?
Hiya! During the previous MapleStory Fest, it was announced that a good handful of the official OSTs would be added to Spotify! This has personally helped me fall in love with the BGMs even more with how accessible they became (I use Spotify on a daily/consistent basis). Music is my favorite way to connect to a game on a personal level; it creates a bond for me that will tie me to the world and environment in which I explore, grind, and play in.
I recently had a brain blast moment and decided to throw all of the OSTs together, into one playlist so I could shuffle it and not have to hop between all of the different ones. I'll post a link here incase anyone would like to use it as well! β‘ I hope someone finds as much joy in it as I do.

I realized in my previous "solicitations" that I was doing this quarterly (kind of, not really), and then 9 months passed. No, we are not dead. Yes, the game is still going on. Yes, this is mostly a copy-paste, but I can't modify the title of my original post >:| so I'm going to make one last post for the foreseeable future and just keep it pinned... so let's keep this "short" and sweet, shall we?
In May of 2020, the world of GMS2 was burned to the ground, in a firey pit of despair and sorrow for players far and wide, never to return or grace us with its sweet embrace again. Shortly after this cataclysm, we had a huge influx of players who wished to continue playing MapleStory 2, despite the choice Nexon made to shut down our precious mushroom game. Many players back then, flocked to the Korean servers, as well as our community discord, in an effort to keep playing the game they enjoyed, and to keep in touch with the community.
If you're seriously interested in continuing to play MapleStory 2, then come join us on the KMS2 discord and see if it's still the right fit for you. If anything, feel free to hang around and chat MS2 with us, or anything else, the more the merrier!
The links below are for our KMS2 Community Server and the KMS2 Get Started / Installation Guide. The guide also has our discord link on the first page, along with information on how to get started in KMS2.

Disclaimer: Korean MapleStory 2 (KMS) is still a Pay 2 Win (p2w) game, compared to GMS2. The game is technically very playable for free; however, many things we had in GMS2 (like lock scrolls, advanced gemstones, dungeon reward extension (KMS2 only), etc.) are behind that paywall. Much of the housing is still a mix between mesos and merets, music is a bit harder to get instruments without grinding (there's no more pack like we had back-in-the-day), and the capsule system is still strong here (cosmetic and functional).
Much of the hardcore p2w aspects of the game have since been changed over the last few years and most likely influenced by our global release changes and improvements, all used to enhance the Quality of Life of KMS2. It's not as bad as it used to be, but it still may not be everyone's cup-o-tea. I want to ensure everyone is aware of these facts before hopping into the game so that their expectation

Other than the stuff on the wiki (which is obviously lacking), is there a website that attempts to document all the official art of Maplestory over the years? I dunno if something like that exists. Maybe on some Korean site?
Edit: Just from a little searching, I found this Tumblr page dedicated for this purpose. I'd like to know if you know of anything similar.
