A list of puns related to "Maintenance Hole"
Yellow excavators and road closure signs squat nearby. A few miles away, the Carrollton Water Plant hums with huge emergency generators backing up the enfeebled turbines that power century-old pumps.
If there's any place that encapsulates the public works deficiencies of the United States, it's New Orleans, where Landrieu, who was tapped Nov. 14 to serve as President Joe Biden's infrastructure czar, served two terms as mayor.
When Landrieu was chosen for the job, the White House praised him for restarting the city's recovery from Hurricane Katrina with the "fast-tracking of over 100 projects," and for "turning New Orleans into one of America's great comeback stories."
Landrieu's legacy is more complicated, however. His supporters can point to a new airport terminal, successful negotiations for billions of federal dollars and renovated recreation centers, theaters, hospitals and other public works projects that demonstrate his ability to think big and βget things done.β His critics keep an equally long list of projects that took too long, deals that sputtered, potholes that went unfilled and parts of the cityβs infrastructure, like the Sewerage & Water Board, that failed on his watch.
But as he begins the job of overseeing the Biden administration's $1.2 trillion infrastructure program, people who have followed his career said that both the successes and shortcomings of his time in the mayor's office are likely to inform his work on the biggest federal investment in public works in decades.

"Building cities and running construction projects in cities - particularly historic ones - in the age of climate change is a herculean challenge," said Mayor LaToya Cantrell's infrastructure chief, Ramsey Green, who has not been coy in the past about frustration with the state of projects when he took over. "Having someone like Mitch Landrieu, who has been a part of positive victories like constructing the airport and the Saenger Theatre and all sorts of other things in the city, and the challenges of them like the Sewerage & Water Board, will be an asset to the Biden administration in ways they probably donβt understand yet."

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hey all! Spectrum recently (a month ago) buried coax throughout my subdivision and sent us all mailers that gigabit service is now available.
A number of my neighbors signed up and have had good results and are happy with their new service.
I made an appointment to have service installed to my home a few weeks ago, and chose the gigabit plan. The tech came out last week on 9/23 to do the install. Upon starting his work he found that the pedestal servicing our home had no taps installed in it, so he wasnβt able to do anything. He said βmaintenanceβ would come out in 24-48 hours to get the taps installed, and then he would come back to install us.
Itβs been almost a week now and Iβve heard nothing from spectrum since then. When I call the support line they tell me since Iβm not a current customer they canβt tell me win maintenance will be out to fix the pedestal. Their suggestion was to put a new order for service in, but when I did that they cancelled the order saying that I had already subscribed. To make it even more frustrating I received an email today with my first billing statement for the service Which I donβt even have yet.
Can anyone help?
UPDATE: As a fellow Redditor suggested below, last night I emailed the CEO and President of Customer Relations. I was polite and did not threaten FCC complaints, etc. Just explained the situation and asked for help resolving it. At 8:30am this morning a maintenance engineer was on-site and installed missing the taps in the pedestal. A few minutes after he left, the Field Service Manager for my region called me and said he could have an install tech on-site within 20 minutes. Sure enough, the tech arrived and had us installed and up and running within an hour. Iβm honestly blown away by how quickly this got attention and how nice the guys from Spectrum were in getting me squared away.
Hello,
I just received a text message from my landlord informing me that he wants to stop by perform "wall repairs" consisting of paint and filling existing holes (that I have covered with paintings/decor) which have been there since I moved in back in 2017. Now, normally I wouldn't really care but this is coming just after he has informed me he will be moving back in to the place Sept 1st. Sounds like he is just trying to prepare the house for when he wants to move in. We're also in the middle of a COVID lockdown so his timing is just impeccable, but I've already confirmed that he is legally allowed to enter during a lockdown.
Am I expected to remove all of my paintings/decor just so he can paint the place while i'm still living in it? I did not ask for this and would prefer not to have him in my home, but I understand a landlord has his rights too.
FYI - he did provide written 24 hours notice listing the time he was coming and his reasoning was simply "wall repair".
TL;DR - can my landlord enter my home to paint my walls/fill holes / is this considered maintenance & repair?
Edit: I called the Ontario LTB and confirmed that he has legal grounds to enter my home, but the agent I spoke to couldn't tell me whether or not painting walls is considered a repair.
How bigs your basket?
Yesterday, Tuesday 2/9/21, as I was in Astoria walking towards the train station a block away, I heard a boom, then saw a lot of smoke rising up. I kept walking towards the smoke because the train station was there. I also took out my phone and re-downloaded Citizen again because I wanted to see what that explosion was. Got near and about 10 seconds after I started recording on Citizen, another maintenance hole explosion happened π€― Apparently this happens pretty often in Astoriaβ¦ every time it snows because of the salt build-up mixing with the electrical wires. This explosion was the 3rd one that afternoon. That poor car right on top of the manhole though.. thankfully, no one was hurt.
Anyway, after that second explosion, there was a lot of smoke rising, so I decided that it was time for me to head out. The firefighters were evacuating everyone who lived nearby in the buildings because of the potentially high carbon monoxide levels.
I'm not too sure if I can post the rest of my experience of what happened in Astoria yesterday, so I'll leave it at that for now. If anyone wants to watch the explosion that was caught on video though, please check out https://youtu.be/AoRhzPJTEh0
Stay safe, everyone!!
Anyone else seeing the influx of smoke/explosions in maintenance holes alerts on Citizen? Are they all related?
He's a complete piece of shit. Asking me to do things which weren't even there when I moved in e.g door stoppers. He's asking me to paint the whole house. Asking me for the window lock keys which weren't even there when I came.
There's no checklist or paper that I signed when moving in. Oh yeah, tthey are charging 700 for cleaning the F&$%+!$ING empty apartment.
Any authority I can go to or anything I can do about it.
