My best friend lives on the East Coast. Iβm on the West. He often streams his games over Skype so I can hang out and watch. He was playing the Witcher 3, and fighting the water monster men. I said βThey just want to know the shape of you,β and he coincidentally died at that moment.
He got really, really mad. I always knew my puns annoyed him a little, but when I was sad, heβd tell dumb puns heβd google to cheer me up. But he just went into a tangent on how much puns annoy him and how he doesnβt get that I keep doing them over and over again every day whenever I talk with him. Trying to stop or cut back on puns would be pretty difficult and make me sad; I love witty wordplay and commentary, and bottling it up feels awful. But apparently it really, really annoys him.
What should I do?
We were celebrating my other niece's 2nd birthday, when my 5-year-old niece comes up to me and says, "Hey Uncle, wanna play a game?"
"Sure. What game?"
"You pick a letter and I say three words that start with that letter."
Since it was her sister's birthday, I picked "B", assuming that sheβll probably say "Birthday".
She was like, "Okay⦠B... B... BB..."
I sat there for a second in a moment of defeat...
"Yes. Those are all words."
You little shit.
Edit for the Dad-impaired: "Be... Bee... BB..."

Edit: thanks for all the replies! I will post game here soon, and pm those whose puns I end up using.
My sister teaches at a high school for children with learning and behavior disorders, and every year she hosts a skills summer camp.
2015 will be geology-themed, and we need help thinking of a fun name for the camp.
Previous years: 2014 Summer Scenarios: Little Egypt (Egyptian themed) 2013 Summer Scenarios (first year had no kitchy name, but it was zombie-themed)
Potential examples: Stone Throne, Rock Steady, Taken for Granite, etc.
During the live-in camp (boarding school), they'll learn survival/outdoorsmanship skills (fire starting, gardening, canoeing, etc.), and have geologists as guest speakers.
Any high school learning-friendly geology-themed blockbusters would be welcome suggestions, too--but I'll post that for the people over at /r/movies.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Thanks to everyone who actually gave appropriate suggestions, and high-fives to those who just made rock puns. My sister selected Game of Stones.
A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated, to find his 5 year old son waiting for him at the door.
βDaddy, may I ask you a question ?β
βYeah, sure, what is it ?β replied the man.
βDaddy, how much money do you make an hour?β
βThatβs none of your business! What makes you ask such a thing?β the man said angrily.
βI just want to know.Β Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?β pleaded the little boy.
βIf you must know, I make $20.00 an hour.β
βOh,β the little boy replied, head bowed.
Looking up, he said, βDaddy, may I borrow $9.00 please?β
The father was furious. βIf the only reason you wanted to know how much money I make is just so you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed.Β Β Think about why youβre being so selfish.Β I work long, hard hours every day and donβt have time for such childish games.β
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even madder about the little boyβs questioning.Β How dare he ask such questions only to get some money.
After an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think he may have been a little hard on his son.Β May be there was something he really needed to buy with that $9.00 and he really didnβt ask for money very often.
The man went to the door of the little boyβs room and opened the door.Β βAre you asleep son?β he asked.
βNo daddy, Iβm awake,β replied the boy.
βIβve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,β said the man.Β βItβs been long day and I took my aggravation out on you. Hereβs that $9.00 you asked for.β
The little boy sat straight up, beaming.
βOh, thank you daddy!β he yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some more crumpled up bills.Β The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at the man.
βWhy did you want more money if you already had some?β the father grumbled.
βBecause I didnβt have enough, but now I do,β the little boy replied.
βDaddy, I have $20.00 now.Β Can I buy an hour of your time?β
The father looked upon his son with a smile as he walked towards the door and said "Overtime is double pay."
I believe I've come up with what could be a very popular new game. Take play-dough and put a little piece of it somewhere on one of the walls of your office or home. It's everyone's job to look around and find where the dough is.
I'd call the game "Where's wall dough?"

"I wonder if we would have played Viagra instead of Niagara the competition would have been a little stiffer."
So my family and I are all gathering around the TV watching the Notre Dame & North Carolina basketball game last night, when out of nowhere my dog starts dry humping the air.
It's absolutely hilarious when he does it, and it all never fails to make everyone laugh hysterically. Take in mind that my dog is neutered so he's super horny but, obviously doesn't really no what he's doing since his baby makers were chopped off. Anyways, my brothers trying to get him to come to him and he's just sitting there looking at him with this his devious little dog face.
Angrily, my brother says,
"He's probably so disobedient because you guys had to go and cut off his balls."
Everyone nodded their heads agreeably, except my dad who mumbles,
"Yeah Matt, that must explain why he never comes."
Little autocorrect issues helped me drop this bomb on my buddy while we were texting
Me: Do you watch game of thrones?
Him: Nah I don't. I've watched the first few episodes, but that's about Iran
Him: It***
Me: Iraqen you should watch a few more.
After a little while, they started to argue because one was bored with the game.
"Hey, bud, maybe you should do something else for a while. I think you've had too much ennui."
This one requires a little backstory:
There's a cardgame called WHOT! It's just uno but with different shapes. Me and my dad used to play it a lot.
Unfortunately it's led to the same terrible joke being made repeatedly over the last 10 years or so. It goes something like this:
Dad: "You'll never guess what film's on tv tonight."
Me: "What?"
Dad: "No, I don't think they made a movie out of that. It's a card game."
It's literally been going on for over a decade now and it pains me deep inside my soul every time he says it.
I'm over at my bff's house for game night. Her dogs have been playing with a chew toy shaped like a carrot that has little treats in it. I go and sit on the couch, where the carrot happens to be.
Me: "Ew, I don't want this carrot by me"
Friend: Would you say you don't Carrot all for it?
I laughed so hard because I really do appreciate dad jokes.
My 87-year-old grandpa is very hard of hearing and usually takes just a little longer to process thoughts than most people. But he was on top of his game tonight at dinner.
My mom: "Alright, let's say a little grace."
The moment that my mom finished saying the word "grace," my grandpa said, "A little grace."
I guess after being a dad for over 50 years, the jokes come quicker than normal speech. Hopefully, one day I, too, will reach this mastery of the art of dadjoking.
Tom Vanderbilt was this nice guy that loves to umpire the local little league games. He was good enough to make it to the major leagues. His first day umpiring behind the plate the first pitch hits the far bottom corner. Tom calls it a strike. The batter, 6'3" 275 lbs says, "you call that a strike again I'm going to pound you with this bat!" The next pitch hits the far bottom corner again. Tom calls it a ball. The catch, who is bigger than the batter turns around and yells, "you call that a ball again I'm going to pound you with this mask!" The very next pitch hits the very same spot. Tom yells, "two!" Both the batter and catcher yell, "two what?!" Tom says, "too close to call and I'm going back to the little leagues."
We were watching the newest Hunger Games movie a couple of weekends ago. Throughout the film she was (very quietly) whispering interesting things that were in the books but not the film.
Mild Spoilers
There is a certain part where a character goes back for a cat.

She leans over and I think she was going to tell me another interesting things about the scene. She whispered a little louder than the other times, "You've gotta be kitten me right meow!"
You could hear the slight chuckle from the people in front of us and I had to stifle my laughter. I probably shouldn't find it that funny, but I love good timing and a corny joke.
I got into an ARAM game the other day. For those of you who do not know there are characters, or champions, you pick in the game. ARAM is a game-mode in League of Legends where the computer gives you a random character out of the 130+ champions, or so. I am not good at all the champions... not even close! So a way to balance this out the game allows you to trade champions with the other people on your team.
So in this game there is a champion called Fizz which I am not good with at all, which I randomly got... and this is what happened inside the pre-game chat:
Me: Oh shoot.
Me: Can anyone trade me?
--Someone trades me their champion--
Me: Thank you! I am so bad with this little guy that you can say I am... Fizzically challenged.
From a game lobby where I was the only one who used chat, it exploded to people typing their moaning and groaning, sensible chuckles, and hearty "LOLs".
Today while we were watching the Colts-Broncos game my mom read something she saw on Pinterest saying, "if a woman speaks and nobody listens, she's probably called mom." My little brother responded with, "what'd you say?"
Little sister "What about the chicken?" Older sister "You mean Turkey?" Ls "Whatever, same difference." Os"You're a chicken." Brother "I call fowl." Me "I'm game."
I had previously told her that I'm afraid of going bald as I get older. Cut to later in the day...
Me: Gore in movies and games doesn't bother me when heads and arms and stuff are getting sliced off. But I get a little cringy when it's a scalpel cutting into skin; precision cuts are weird for me.
GF: Is it because it's a scalp el?
Me: ...
Driving home with my son today from his basketball game, he was a little upset because he was ejected for too many fouls. On our way home he asked me if we could have chicken for dinner. " I think we're all fowled out."
I was playing a stupid little game with around a dozen kids on each team. One kid on my team tripped a kid on their team, and started yelling "Foul!" So I replied
"Ref, that team is using foul language!"
My Dad and I were getting dinner ready when I quizzed him on how he seasoned the chicken and gravy mixture he was fawning over.
"Uh I haven't put anything in but the chicken, and the gravy."
"Were you going to season it?"
"Wasn't planning on it." he finished, apparently done with the conversation as his full attention was now on whatever football game was on. I decided if he wasn't going to take the initiative and make our food taste like something other than bland than I would.
"Here Dad put in some garlic," I said as i started grabbing spices from the cabinet.
"Some basil, salt, pepper, thyme... " I didn't see any thyme in here which was too bad because it would be just the thing for this.
"Hey DAD do we have any thyme left?" I asked him a little louder than I had been talking before.
"Time for what?" he asked, finally breaking his attention from the flat screen, a severely confused and almost worrried look cemented on his brow. And then, as quick as a camera lens closing to capture a shot, he winked.

TL;DR I'm pretty sure you have enough thyme to read it.
My friend and I were playing Magic The Gathering (Card game), and we were talking about our previous games at a tournament that just happened couple days prior. He told me he lost a game due to a little mistake.
His exact words were "Man, I was so stupid. I mis-read it" I replied with "Well, if you mis-read it, theres a computer behind you." My friend then groaned... looked at me, and shook his head, while i laughed at my own joke.
ba dum, tsh!
i was at a baseball game with my cousin and his son. his son, a little chap, asked "how are baseballs made?"
to which my cousin replies "well you see, when a mommy baseball and a daddy baseball get together........" subtle, yet dad joked.
