A list of puns related to "Karabiner"
As the title says, I'm looking for some help with making xml files (or finding pre-written ones) for Karabiner Elements.
Specifically, I'm looking for an xml that will allow me to use the system shortcuts from the older versions of macOS (e.g. Apple+L to lock the screen, Shift+Apple+L to logout, etc.).
If anyone either is able to write one for me (I'm no goo!d at writing xml's or any other programming language as I don't know the first thing about it) or if someone knows where I could go to download one, please let me know - that would be a huge help.
Thanks in advance!

So I usually type on my iPad. Itβs an M1 Pro running the latest iPadOS.
Since there is no external keyboard mapping app available for the iPad that I know of (if there is, please advise), I thought I would make the changes using Karabiner Elements on my Macbook and then connected the re-mapped keyboard to my iPad.
I made the keymapping changes, and they worked flawlessly on my MacBook. Disconnect BT from my Macbook, reconnect to my iPad and⦠Nothing. None of the changes I made register at all on the iPad.
This is odd because at least one keymapping change I made is a duplicate of a command that I know the keyboard is capable of sending successfully to the iPad⦠my keyboard came stock with Fn + A, S, and D to control volume/mute. When I mapped the F keys to do the same, that change does not work on the iPad.
So hereβs my confusion, and itβs a couple of layers deepβ¦
I was under the impression that Karabiner Elements literally reprogrammed the physical keyboard. Meaning you could take said keyboard from the device you had keymapped on, in my case a Macbook Air, and connect it to another device that is not running Karabiner Elements, and the changes would remain, because you had reprogrammed the actual keyboard, not the interface between the device and the keyboard.
It would appear that one of two things is happeningβ¦
A local shop has a 98K for $900 and i can't get it out of my head. I saw it while in doing a CZ52 transaction and wonder what I should look at before purchasing. Can anyone help me with things to look for before buying and if that is a good price. I don't have anything German in my C&R Stash or any 7 (8?) mm firearms (or ammo). Since my Grandparents were from Frankfurt it also seems a horrible hole in my "collection" (big word for what i own.)
Any help/info would be appreciated.
I appreciate Karabiner for basic stuff like swapping the FN and Command keys as well as some basic modifications. However I would like something more accessible.
Is there an app that shows you all key bindings / shortcuts in a very clear way and allows you to remap them? For example, remaping Command+Delete from "Delete everything backward on the current line" to "Forward delete" is a very complex process in Karabiner. I would like something that has a more clear and simple process.
Hallo there. I would like to ask those who use Karabiner Elements! Do you know if it is possible to remap the keys of a second keyboard/pad connected to your Mac? I want to use the primary keyboard as is and the secondary for shortcuts for some programs I'm using. Thanks
Relative climbing newbie. I work on a real variety of trees from big eucalypts with thick stringy/fibrous bark, on which I prefer wire core fliplines, to ornamental garden trees, where I prefer rope. I would like to be able to quickly swap between fliplines depending on the job.
Can I use steel locking karabiners to attach my flip lines to harness? Or is this a no-no considering there is more of a chance the karabiners can come off compared to the maillons I currently use?
