A list of puns related to "International Ampere"
This might be a series of tales about my times as an intern at a public university on a more or less chronological sequence.
Setting: It's early 2011 and I'm pretty green at tech support. I only did basic computering courses, everything else was self-taught, a combination of not having money to make a proper tech course and friends not having money to hire a proper tech. Most internships require prior experience, the solution for this Catch-22 is internship at a public institution: Get the top score on a test against a few hundred, pass a basic interview, you're in.
Players:
$Brick - Bossman. I'll call him Brick because [redacted], he's built like a brick house, and he mains Roland. I knew him for quite some time before this.
$Lilith - Coworker, above me in the pecking order. Nothing particular about her yet, but gonna roll with this naming convention.
This is my first day. At the time I was a Computer Science sophomore, studying at another campus. Exact science courses left this campus because it lacked equipment, still using outdated 90s fossils. Brick gives me the obligatory tour, we already knew each other and the place already for quite some time, but hey, protocol and now I have clearance for new places.
Brick brings me to a room containing a cubic ton of desktops, boxes full of power cords strips and patch cords, and briefs me on the long-term assignment: Wipe, image and deploy them all. How they got the budget? See, when the government says they invested a few millions in education, they don't tell you how they did it (Cash? Pfft). They had these machines sitting for quite some time, since they didn't had neither demand nor budget or manpower to operate and maintain them, so they were left there.
Well, a judge disagrees, so we have a court order to get those online. Budget was slashed so manglement could invest in what was required to get it done (hire a single extra intern). Asked where I should haul those desktops. Brick told me some of them are already more or less in place in an improvised lab so we can make a test run first. I'm introduced Lilith, wiping a single machine the old way to see if the step-by-step guide was OK for interns to replicate, filling me in the basics of how domain machines work. At this point I have absolutely no knowledge of imaging tools and they're not using them yet.
The plan: Turn everything on, plop DVDs, leave them running, back to IT room to get acquainted with my desk, check if everything is working o

I hope this guide will be helpful to theists and atheists alike. Be forewarned, I am not an expert, not even close - merely an interested lay-person. My goal is simply to give an overview of the various concepts and positions, to facilitate informed discussion. Although, to be honest, it is also to get these ideas straight in my own head :)
I will not present every position. Nor will I present any arguments for or against the various positions (both to remain unbiased and for brevity). I would ideally like to give many examples for each concept, but unfortunately, I feel I must cut most of these for brevity (please add some in the comments if you like!)
Everything I say is up for debate and constructive criticism. I may accidentally say something that is misleading, or straight-up incorrect. Please correct me if I do, preferably with a source
Key terms (ie google-able words) have been bolded. Italics are for emphasis
My sources are the SEP, IEP, and Wikipedia
Letβs start with the most basic concept. What is [βtruthβ](https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/truth/)? There are a few theories of truth, with some subtle distinctions between them, but most arenβt relevant here
The most widely held view is the [Correspondence Theory of Truth. This holds that βa proposition is true if and only if it corresponds to realityβ. So, for example, the proportion βsnow is whiteβ is true if and only if is actually the case that snow is white.
Another popular view is the Deflationary Theory of Truth. This view is based on the observation that the sentence "it is true that snow is white" doesn't seem to add any substantial content to simply asserting "the snow is white". The main idea of the deflationary approach is (a) that all that can be significantly said about truth is exhausted by an account of the role of the expression βtrueβ or of the concept of truth in our talk and thought, and (b) that, by contrast with what traditional views assume, this role is neither metaphysically substantive nor explanatory (SEP)
A minority view is the [Coherence Theory of Truth]([https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/truth-coherence](https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/tru

In some of our launch material, we will use the claim World's first portable Liquid Laptop Cooling.
Please don't put too much stake on the "portable" aspect in this title. We are mainly using it as a foundation for the "World's first" claim. :-)
What really makes XMG OASIS stand out:
But also, keep in mind:
XMG OASIS will be Made in Taiwan.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
FVC means "field-vectored craft," i.e., UFO(s).
We learned in Part 1:
Date: January 30, 1973
Location: Lexington, Alabama
Witnesses: Bill Rogers, APRO Field investigator, and two other unnamed individuals.
Description: Rogers went to Lexington to investigate reports of FVC in the area, which began a month prior on December 27, 1972. Rogers, along with two other members of the investigation team, observed a yellowish-orange-white light moving slowly above tree-top level.
>After about a minute, the object moved up about 40 feet, and they could see that it had a shape between a sphere and an egg (ellipsoidal). It then descended

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
So often I see that this is the only rating looked at when deciding which cell to buy. I can understand why because it seems that the larger this number is the less often we have to chargeβ¦a good thing. But like so many things involving Li-ion cells, itβs not that simple.
Capacity is a rating that essentially tells us the size of a cellβs βgas tankβ. Itβs how much charge the cell stores and it is expressed in milliampere-hours (mAh) or ampere-hours (Ah). One thousand mAh is the same as one Ah. The rating tells us theoretically how many milliamps we can draw from the cell and for how long.
For example, a cell with a 3000mAh capacity rating can be discharged at 3000mA for 1 hour. When you multiply 3000mA by 1 hour you get 3000mAh. But that also means if we discharge the cell at 1500mA the cell should run for 2 hours since 1500mA x 2h = 3000mAh.
You can also go the other way. If we discharge the cell at 6000mA (6A) then it will theoretically run for 1/2h since 6000mA x 0.5h = 3000mAh. But there are things that affect how accurate this is when discharging at above 1A or so. I will address that later on in this post.
There are two main capacity ratings for the big manufacturers, Minimum and Nominal (or Typical). Minimum is just what it sounds like, the lowest capacity that any cell for that model number should have.
The Nominal or Typical rating is what most of the cells for that model number will typically test out to if they are not old and were not stored badly. This number is always higher than the Minimum rating. For example, most 3000mAh minimum rated 18650βs from the big manufacturers test out near to 3100mAh.
The cell wrapping/rewrapping companies like Vapcell, Efest, etc., usually only have one capacity rating and they often use the Typical rating on their wraps. For example, a 3000mAh-rated cell from Samsung would be rewrapped with 3100mAh or 3200mAh on the wrap. A 3000mAh-rated cell from one of the China manufacturers would probably be given a 3000mAh rating on the wrap since the cell often only has a Typical rating.
Some wrapping/rewrapping companies are better than others with this and use accurate ratings. Some inflate the capacity rating a bit (rounding up to 3200mAh for 3000mAh minimum-rated 18650βs, for example) to try to get more sales.
There can be a problem with these ratings thoughβ¦they are all measured using a very slow discharge, typically at or under 1A. The standard is to use a discharge level equal to 1/5th of the capacity rati

Thursday Edit:
So buildzoid just made a video of a failed Gigabyte 3090 vision and said "Vcore failed."
Probable cause but he isn't fully sure as of yet: asymmetrical VRM (10 power stages for 8 phases?). Either Gigabyte design issue, or all 3090's are susceptible, or it's just asymmetrical boards failing. He said that the eVGA card is an 8 stage controller driving a 13 stage VRM.
You're supposed to have symmetrical phases to have current evenly distributed across all the phases.

=================================
Looks like the NVVDD VRM's are being overloaded.
This guy's card is pulling 307 amps from NVVDD just at 460W (!) power draw!
https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-nvidia-rtx-3090-owners-club.1753930/page-916#post-28878677 Pay attention to the TDP Normalized value.
His rail power is NVVDD Output Power (sum), but it's cropped off in his screenshot. It's the first output power on the list.
I looked in the Ampere Bios Editor (scroll down in the thread a bit) and on his HWinfo64 screenshot, none of the input rails were anywhere close to 118%. I posted a screenshot of Ampere Bios Editor in that thread for his 520W eVGA Bios.
To put that in perspective, Fortnite at 500W on my card, a 3090 FE that's shunt modded (lobby main menu) was only pulling 257 amps. (296W output rail divided by 1.15v). Notice the 'relatively' low TDP Normalized compared to my Path of Exile shot below.
https://i.imgur.com/lUhhyvP.png
(Note: all of my input power rails need to be adjusted by 1.98x to get the "true" reading due to a shunt mod. Only total board power was adjusted in HWinfo already). Output power rails ignore shunt mods.
Just divide NVVDD Output Power (sum) by default NVVDD voltage of 1.15v.
TDP Normalized is only 86.4%. TDP is 72% because my "max" TDP at 100% is 700W. Normalized is the highest of any internal single rail with respect to its "default" limit. Meaning it can read the MSVDD and NVVDD voltage and power rails and any other rail.
Amps is GPU Output Power (sum) - NVVDD voltage. (Watts=volts * amps via Ohm's law). NVVDD voltage stock is 1.15v stock according to Elmor's EVC2SX and Kingpin default (stock) dip switch settings.
Here is Path of Exile pouring 600W on my own card with GI Shadows Quality=Ult

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
