A list of puns related to "Ignition Coil"
Any recommendations for an ignition coil? Been having terrible acceleration issues after swapping spark plugs and a little plastic bootie in the inside of a ignition coil pulled itself out from the interior. Tried a junkyard coil and the acceleration issue went away but my car died while driving (although I'm not sure the issue is related) From what I gather oem is best. It's a 2006 9-3 2.0t
So my 8 has about 45k miles on the clock. I know its nearly time to replace the ignition coils (yes I know they're important). It's in for a service and the spark plugs are being replaced so I don't need to worry about a package which includes both.
Oh and while I'm here, what ratio do you all use for premixing (if you do)? I use 300:1.
Hello all,
keeping things straight-forward, Im broke as a joke and cant afford 100 bucks a-pop for coil packs. Ive heard the whole "only way is oem," but has anyone had any luck with any other ignition coils?

So I toon the car to get checked and turns out it had problems with the spark plugs and the ignition coils. Got them changed and two weeks later the Check Engine light came back on the dashboard and took it to get checked and it's marking the coils and spark plugs again. What could be causing this issue?
I purchased my RX8 about 7 months ago. It is a 2010 with about 83000 miles. It has an easy time starting cold but a difficult time starting hot (although it has never outright failed to start, it always starts eventually). It also rumbles/vibrates at idle. I've read about the hot start issue a lot, and many suggest that it is due to low compression. I, unfortunately, do not have access to a rotary compression test. Also, none of these other posts I've read seem to specifically talk about a gen2 RX8 that also rumbles at idle. I was curious as to if there are any other causes to these issues besides low compression, as I'm unsure how I would transport my car all the way to a rotary mechanic. I live in Southern Mississippi, so there aren't any nearby. I'm sure this is just wishful thinking, but I would like to think that the gen2s are less prone to losing compression and that this issue is likely something else. Any insight would be appreciated.
Currently owns a 1962 1200cc oval window beetle. Has being working on it for few months. Currently it has the Bosh original 12v blue color ignition coil. After running for sometime the ignition coils heats up too much forcing the vehicle to stop. Any tips on fixing this issue. :)
Hi all,
Just pulled the coils out of my 09 R3 with 54k miles to test the resistances, and obtained the following:
Using this format (ohms): A+B B+C A+C
Coil 1: 1.42K 2.84M OL
Coil 2: 1.38K 2.9M OL
Coil 3: 1.48K 2.86M OL
Coil 4: 1.51K 2.82M OL
I know the figures between the coils are fairly consistent, but Iβm unsure if theyβre βgoodβ. From the service history I have these appear to be the factory coils.
Can anyone confirm if these are good or not?
Thanks!
Hi all,
After starting my car today and it had a rough idle. So I gave it a minute or two and, unsurprisingly, the check engine light came on. So I ran my OBD2 computer and got a P0304 code: Cylinder 4 misfire.
I was pretty sure it wasn't my spark plugs, as I replaced them earlier this year so I wanted to check if it was my ignition coil. I took off the coil from cylinder 4, swapped it with the one from cylinder 2 and then checked my car.
No rough idle, engine light gone and my OBD2 was showing no codes.
Why did this just fix my issue? Is there something I have misunderstood? I haven't replaced them with new coils, I literally swapped the one I had in cylinder 4 with the one I had in cylinder 2.
Hello, I discovered the other day that rodents made a nest under the hood of my 2015 fusion (non-ecoboost model) and chewed through the wires that go to one of the ignition coils. I brought it into the dealership since they're close by and asked them what my options are. They got back to me saying that they can re-pin the connection but that it would cost $800. Does that seem reasonable to you? My next step was going to be to call around to local shops and see what they would charge. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi all. The ignotion coils on my R56 keep failing. Is this a common problem? How often do they usually need replacement?
Anyone have any experience fabricating this? Any tips you might have would be greatly appreciated.
So Iβm trying to put a new ignition coil in since the one I put in isnβt working too well. However, I think the clip is busted and when I pull it up it isnβt ejecting the electric plug. Do I just need to pry it open with a screwdriver or what?
Hi guys sorry for asking,
My 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis is about to hit 100,000 miles in about 170 miles and I plan on getting the car's spark plugs changed next month as I am certain it hasn't been changed since it rolled out in 2003. I am contemplating on whether or not I should have the car's ignition coils changed as well? (I don't know if the mechanic will charge extra)
Hey all, just some need some quick advice if possible. Had a couple small incidents recently in my 06 Mustang GT, which I've had for a few years now, started "spitting"(bogs down, accelerated roughly, and sounded like the tailpipes were spitting lol) for a few seconds, and have decided to change the spark plugs. I was just wondering if I should just change the ignition coils while I'm at it. Thanks in advance for any advice, and have a good one.
