A list of puns related to "Homogeneous Metric"
Author of mergerfs here.
I've noticed my project has started to be used by many in the Chia community. I've also noticed that the existing create policies might not work well for the Chia workload. I'd be happy to create one that is more appropriate, even if it's sole usecase was for use with Chia, but I'm not involved in the Chia space and would ideally need someone willing to work with me on any changes.
What I need is to understand very specifically the chia software pattern of creating and writing files (and perhaps other filesystem behaviors) and the general workflow people employ. Whether or not other software might be using the drives through mergerfs is also important.
I'm happy to hear suggestions for policy algorithms but please understand that it needs to be highly specific. I need to know precisely what metrics would be needed, possibly how they might be collected, and the algo used to choose from the branches and those metrics the target branch for the `create` (or any other function that might be needed.) Some have suggested "round robin" but generally that works only if the backends are mostly homogeneous which as I imagine many people's devices are not. Also, with sufficient load, it becomes statistically the same as `rand`. Others have suggested some sort of utilization prioritizing but that is also complicated. Not all filesystems are on a device and even if they were device utilization metrics from the kernel are generally pretty erratic due to a number of factors.
It's possible that if the mergerfs pool is exclusively used by Chia (or for it via completely user controlled behavior) then round robin (or least open files) could work fine.
All that said: I question whether mergerfs is the best solution for **writing** plots. This might not work due to my ignorance of how everything works but: mergerfs introduces increased overhead in all functions. If any slowdown to writes is potentially money on the table then it may not be the best to write plots through mergerfs. At least till the proposed file IO passthrough makes it into the Linux FUSE implementation which should bring IO to near native speeds (with some tradeoffs). A better strategy may be adopted from the media datahoarders who use mergerfs in combination with rclone to mount cloud storage. They create a mergerfs pool of local filesystems and the rclone remote. They mark rclone as read only and have media downloaded either into the pool (not recommended here) or to a

Hello there fellow apes. I have decided that with a new sub should come new DD and so I have decided to write this article. Now some of you may remember me from my last article where I talked about the suspicious amount of companies that went bankrupt under the rule of the ousted members who may or may not have been planted there in order to insure GMEs failure.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/mbiodn/cleaning_house_cco_resigns_and_what_that_means/
Since then I have remained in the shadows upvoting and occasionally commenting on posts but mostly just watching things unfold and Hodling. But I have decided to come out of hiding to share some of the insights that I feel that I have found after analyzing the level 2 book on webbull and witnessing the spectacular growth of this subreddit. Now my claim in the title as to why 1 million is not as crazy as it seems is meant genuinely and is not simply clickbait for three major reasons. The first being the large amount of retail/active investors in the stock, the second is the level 2 book which shows how once this rocket gets going things are going to start getting insane and the final reason being an analysis of the game theory involved within this transaction.
Keep in mind I will be recapping some information covered by other DD in order to backup/verify every assertion and point made. "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" which in this case means a lot of evidence needs to be provide to show each point is true. With that out of the way lets talk about how much of the stock is owned by retail.
Chapter 1: Retail Ownership and the Prisoners Dilemma
Now for the last few months a lot of questions have been thrown around as to how much the stock is shorted and as to how much of the outstanding stock is owned by retail. The reason being is simple. If retail (more specifically the guys asking for a milli a share) own 100% of the stock and the stock is shorted basically at all then that means they have to pay whatever that guy wants them to pay. That being said if the short interest is low only a few guys are actually going to be paid that million a share. Even if retail does not own all the outstanding so long as we own a significant proportion of it and refuse to sell below a certain price the other players so to speak will understand this and will raise their floors to something more s

Terrestrial features like mountain ranges, desserts, glaciers, and tundra separated human populations from the proverbial start, and, in some cases, for tens of millennia. As you can imagine, that made for some cultural divergence. The seas, above all, cemented those divisions until only a scant few local centuries in advance of Iteration One."

We need to keep the pressure up for LONG overdue expansions to our program to finally be rolled out. Call your local representatives, call and email the Governorโs office, the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), and Department of Health (DOH) - donโt let up!
Question 1: There does not appear to be any date or deadline for a Cannabis Control Board to have been appointed under the OCM, but the transition from DOH control of the medical program transferring to the OCM has a full six months after appointment of the CCB. What is the timeline for appointing the CCB?
A: June 10th is the last day of session โ the hope or belief seems to be around/after that time is when the CCB will start to come together. Currently 18-20 people โon MMP team at DOHโ โ as has been the case, they are resource constrained, and OCM has not started hiring yet. โContinuity of medical program is priority #1โ Pat McKage from DOH joined in on the call (exchanged pleasantries and background info but nothing substantial re: content)
Question 2: Are there any of the emergency regulations patients were told were waiting on the Governorโs signature ready to start immediately? Or are all regulations being newly developed and rolled out?
A: At this point they are only looking at the changes set forth in the MRTA. Most of the emergency regulations pertained more to RO operations than patient access issues. Pursuing the emergency regulations now would mean the CCB would need to revisit/evaluate once formed and thereโs already a lot waiting for CCB members (Read: all regulations are to be newly developed)
Question 3: When can patients expect to see whole flower available to them? Whole flower was held up until the MRTA passed (2+ years) and we have a Director of Cannabis Programs who has worked in NYS since December 2019 โ what is preventing our access to whole flower?
A: Related to other medical expansions: Adding new conditions, increasing daysโ supply, provider discretion with how they write their recommendations โ requires changes be made to the MDMS system (among others)
There are two threads of issues going into the question of when flower will be available:

If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.
Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

Having had this discussion multiple times, I figured I would just look at a database and summarize some results/opinions on smaller WRs. First a few things to note:
We know that for real life football performance and draft capital, BMI is important. itโs not the ideal biometric (and is flawed as a health indicator) but looking at a relatively homogenous group of athletes like NFL WRs, the fitter more muscular athletes have an advantage, and BMI gives an indication of this although by no means a perfect one, and one thatโs relative to height. The reason there arenโt many low BMI WRs is selection bias - many of our smaller options are weeded out in hs and college ranks without making the NFL. Size (height/weight) given similar athleticism is also known to be an inherent performance advantage. And another case where selection bias is at play. Below from a conversation with Adam harstad.
Adam harstad - size is self evidently beneficial for WRs
Secondly, combine measurements across the board do not correlate well for WRs. One of the reasons for this is that there are several different roles for WRs that are veritably different positions. What desean Jackson does is entirely different than what Brandon Marshall did, than what deebo Samuel does, and is entirely different than what Julian Edelman did on a football field. So it makes sense that traits that might correlate well to one player/situation/scheme/typical route is not going to be as predictive for another. Below is an hour long video of PAHowdy waxing philosophically on the theme of combine measurements not being statistically relevant to top 24 finishes. I would argue however, that the potential success of 6โ4 210 AJG is a fundamentally different matter than 5โ10 175 lbs Darnell mooney, for example, despite both having a BMI in the mid 25s range.
PAHowdy does not like combine or BMI - an hour long manifesto
Harvard - no correlation from combine to performance of NFL WRs
Last, we see as part of that video detour that the average height/weight of top 24 WRs is ~205 lbs and ~6โ1. This is significant because the average

Keep in mind, my son is 4 years old, so everything is an original to him.
I had to work late into the evening yesterday, and he was just going to bed when I got home. I had left home for the office nearly 14 hours prior, had a long day, lots of meetings, traffic, etc.
When I walked through the door, I was exhausted, run down, and starving. My wife hugged me and asked how my day was, and I replied, "Done. It was a good day, but has got me exhausted. I just want to grab a bite and go to bed. I'm hungry."
From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"
Not only did it make me laugh, but I completely forgot about how hungry and tired I was. I went to his bedroom, and we laughed together about it. It was exactly what I needed.
Edit: Thanks for all the awards, kind strangers! I'll let my son know y'all enjoyed his joke too!

Dragonchain (DRGN) originally started as a project within The Walt Disney Company and has since branched off into its own entity. As of this moment, there is no active partnership with The Walt Disney Company.
Dragonchain is a HYBRID blockchain that combines elements from Public and Private blockchains. This allows businesses to use blockchain while protecting sensitive data. Examples:
ยท You need your ID to buy alcohol. The vendor doesnโt need to know your birthday, full name or home address. They JUST need to know that you are at the legal drinking age.
ยท You are applying for a job. (1) Your full resume is attached to your digital ID and it autofills the job application (2) The employer asks for your social security number for a background check. The employer just needs to verify if you are a legal citizen and your criminal history. This can be done without having to reveal your personal information.
ยท You go to checkout page for any website and just scan a QR code from your wallet. Your wallet will provide your name, address, credit card info so you can checkout without having to type in any information. That is possible with Dragonchain. Your personal data and transactions will remain private between you and the website. The website hosting this data will be secured if it's in the Dragonchain ecosystem to prevent data breaches.
With Dragonchain, you can create a profile that has all your personal information: full name, address, social security number, employment history, medical records, vaccine records, credit card info, bank account numbers and release any of that data as needed.
This is currently being done through MyFii, a data management service by Dragonchain. It allows businesses to fulfill KYC requirements without the business having to hold any of your personal information.

EXTINCTION BY SELF LOATHING |
---|
Establishing Causality Between Widespread Misanthropy and the Extinction of Homo Sapiens |
by |
Zynth Deus Hagsaeng |
An Analysis |
Submitted to Horsehead School of Exobiology |
INTRODUCTION
This analysis seeks to determine whether or not human extinction can be attributed, in part or full, to an observed increase in global rates of species-locus-self-loathing (local nomenclature is misanthropy; partially interchangeable and highly co-incidental with nihilism). Note that observed increases in species-locus-self-loathing do not describe increases in individual-locus-self-loathing (interestingly, the inverse is true; although that relationship is not a focus of this research). Furthermore, unlike conclusions drawn by earlier extinction prognosis analyses befalling similarly advanced but unrelated dominant species, this paper will be unique in endeavoring to establish unidirectional causality; species-locus-self-loathing substantially contributed to the extinction of Homo sapiens, but pressures derived from other extinction-contributing-factors were not an underlaying cause of species-locus-self-loathing among Homo sapiens.
Descendants of a long and principally prokaryotic lineage, itself emerging from the unlikely fringes of the civilized galaxy on a planet with middling habitability metrics, humanity (Homo sapiens; humankind; mankind) should have developed an ample sense of self worth for having existed at all. Abiogenesis and mutative-incidence modeling create a sober view of prospects for organic diversity on Earth-like-planets; that is to say, mid-tier terrestrial worlds bathed in the homogenous light and heat of a single G-type main-sequence star. Generally, it is exposure to varied forms of electromagnetic radiation in conjunction with an array of hyperlocal geologic conditions that proves to be the hallmark of healthy abiogenesis and the cornerstone of multilinear (life derived from two or more abiogenetic ancestors) biological competition. This is empirically the case, testified to by the overrepresentation of life on worlds orbiting binary star systems, or orbiting temperamental M dwarf stars (M-type; red dwarf), or replete with a diversity of electromagnetic stimuli from various stellar phenomena so plainly germane to abiogenesis nearer the densely populated galactic center. The Earth therefore is nearly unique in its biological history. Few other examples of abiogenesis
