A list of puns related to "Headphones"
Yesterday I finished my 4th 30 day round of Whole30 since I began in May 2017. While I try to eat Whole30ish in between, I'd definitely had a longer break in November and December so I started before New Years to get a jump on the good habits.
The good:
I love that W30 gives me a structured way of eating that's not "go to nutrition school" or "well there's 500 ways to eat right..." and that when I follow the plan I feel great.
I'm cooking at home way more, meal planning for once, saving money on eating out and trying new foods.
Also, I've lost 40 lbs in 9 months so that's nice.
The bad:
I don't have any major sensitivities so technically when I'm done all things are possible and I feel out of control. This year I'm tracking days where I feel in control with "food freedom" and focusing on making non-compliant foods 100% worth it.
Traveling on W30 for a couple days is fine, I just got back from 15 days on the road and that was hard. Just the sheer number of preparations and adaptations you have to make 3-4 times a day is exhausting. For the most part I don't want to be on W30 when I travel.
It can feel like my body has mood swings when I'm off W30. It's a wild ride from feeling good! to WTF body?! in a matter of one day. I consistently feel better physically and mentally on W30 but it's so restrictive that I can't imagine doing it forever and ever.
Tips for Your Post W30 life:
Plan to eat W30 at home 5 days a week. For me bringing in items that are not just non-compliant but WAY off plan creates chaos. Mashed cauliflower with traces of milk: okay. Box of cookies: oh no.
Keep eating 1/2 your plate of veggies every meal and try new ones. This week I got beets and I have no idea what to do with them aside from very terrible headphone puns. I'll find a W30 recipe though and try them out.
Let a little go a long ways. It's tempting to go CRAZY now that you can have things so I learned to have half or 1/4 of what I'd normally do. Like today I got a mocha but bought the smallest size. Instead of a burger and fries and onion rings just get the burger with a bun. Don't go too far out - there's a middle ground between almond milk and kale and cheetos and cheese.
Keep out the things that you have no taste for anymore. For me that's soda (except for the single can of 7UP for flu season), pasta, beans and most cheese. Introduce some things that are technically non-compliant but make you happy. Costco has some sweet potato cri

Title sounds confusing but here goes. I have low pain tolerance so something like having a blood test hurts quite a bit. I have a medical condition that requires I get a blood test every 1-2 months. Because of this, I usually tell the phlebotomist if it's okay I put my headphones in and turn away whilst they draw blood so as to distract myself. To explain further, I would usually have one headphone in my ear and the volume would be like 20/30 max.
Well today I went in for a blood test and bumped into someone I knew. We were in the same room getting our tests done when she saw me with the headphones. After the test she called it an AH move because I'm ignoring the staff with my head turned away and having headphones in. I tried to explain that I always let the staff know and 100% of the time they all say its fine. She basically compared it to being in a supermarket you wouldn't have your headphones in and looking away when your in front of the cashier.
Was wondering if this was AH move on my sides?
I have tried to wear earphones before when I've been out and about but it stresses me. I need to be able to physically hear and see what's going on around me, part of the reason why I can't wear sunglasses, or have a hood pulled up.
I've seen them being recommended a lot to users on here, but I personally can't wear them unless I'm in my own home.
I feel tense if I can't hear everything that's going on around me, even though that sometimes causes me stress but I feel a bit calmer knowing of my surroundings
It's been almost 5 years since IPhone killed the headphone jack, so it'd be nice to get a real long term opinions on the matter again.
Personally, I miss the jack. Wired headphones and AUX cables just worked and are a good solution in a pinch. Cars didn't keep up, so I always have pretty bad delays using Bluetooth while driving. Of course, Bluetooth headphones are way more convenient for most applications, but it was always nice to have a backup when you ultimately forget to charge them.
This might be the dumbest argument my wife and I have had yet. I (29NB) have a nice pair of expensive headphones. My wife (35F) asks frequently to use them. I often say yes. Sometimes she uses them without asking and, truthfully, she uses them more than me because she plays video games more than I do. Sometimes, though, I say no. I am very particular about my things. I donβt like for my stuff to be used because they inevitably stop being mine. The iPad I bought for myself is now the family iPad. My laptop was my sonβs laptop for school when virtual classes started. My PS4 is my sonβs PS4 & I have to give up my disk space so he can play co-op games with my wife or his friends. So Iβm a bit stingy with the headphones.
On top of that, every time she uses them, she just leaves them in the floor. I have nearly stepped on them so many times and I hate that she wonβt put them back on their stand when sheβs done.
Luckily we have another, cheaper pair of headphones. My wife hates using them. Tonight was one of the nights I didnβt feel like sharing mine and she snapped at me how she thinks its ridiculous that I donβt let her use my stuff because she used to let me use her headphones all the time. She lost the charging cord to those and they disappeared in a move. I said that just because she was fine with sharing her things doesnβt mean Iβm obligated to do the same and that itβs not fair to call me names because sheβs upset. It devolved into a big fight and now weβre not talking and Iβm trying tp figure out how I got to this point with her.
She sees absolutely no flaw in her logic and maintains that Iβm at fault. Iβll admit that thereβs nothing stopping her from using them right now. Iβm not using them; I just donβt want her to use them right now.
so AITA for not sharing my things with my spouse?
EDIT: Hey just because Iβve already gotten several βjust buy her headphonesβ responses. I have bought her a pair only to return them because she didnβt like them. We have another pair that just arenβt as nice as mine. The pair that got lost was a second pair after she wore out her first pair. She is fully capable of buying her own, but frugality is important right now during the Panasonic.
EDIT 2: Weβre getting a divorce over this. Kidding, I did exactly what many of you said and explained how I felt about my personal items being mistreated and we both apologized. Consensus seems to be to just buy her her own pair and be done with it. I can do that. Also I appre
... keep reading on reddit β‘The scene explains the opera house siege and that Sator suspects/is aware that JDW is a secret agent. The last algorithm piece was unearthed in 2008, then went through a few different hands until it was supposed to be traded at the opera house, which both JDW's CIA team and Sator's team intercepted and tried to obtain.
This is a bizarre scene because it's trying to do 2 completely contradictory things - important exposition, and immersive audio to really capture the feeling of being on the catamaran. Remove the dialogue completely and it's a pretty compelling scene to just watch and listen to, but with the dialogue you're just annoyed that you're having to strain to hear IMPORTANT exposition
They really should have hardcoded subtitles for this scene alone. That way they can do both the loud waves and music while still making the dialogue known. This was one of the only scenes I had a problem with audio-wise, the other being a few lines said by Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character which for the life of me I still don't understand. I've seen other movies which use subtitles in places like nightclubs so they can get really loud without losing dialogue, and Tenet would benefit from that here
This is a reupload of a post where I posted the video of the scene, which I didn't realise was against the rules. I'll leave a link to the scene in the comments, which mods can delete if they want to. Did you know this sub has nearly 70 rules?
there are other things there.
don't worry too much about trying to figure it all out (near impossible)
there is absolutely more than meets the eye to this life...you can literally see with your eyes closed.
it feels like some buddhist practice of death, and it seems to convey that death is but another transition.
it wants you to take care of you mind and body. It welcomes wellness and seems to want to heal you. You can ask it stuff and it gives you hard but welcome truths.
regardless of what you ask, it talks to you anyway.
there's no way to adequately prepare...so feel free to dive in at your own comfort level but don't get too hung up on clinging to comfort.
I am looking to buy some new headphones because my current ones are slowly disintegrating due to me using them almost 24/7. I have diagnosed ADHD and suspected ASD, which lead me to consider buying noise-cancelling headphones, as I have heard great things about them, mostly from the ASD community. However, since they are very expensive (at least they are where I live) I wanted to ask for some advice from people who currently use them or have used them in the past. Are they worth the money, how much noise do they block and what kinds of noise? What are some models that you've had great experiences with?
You can literally here every small thing. Like the sounds of stones grating when panning the map or the splashing or climbing noise. Idk everything just sounds mad high quality and detailed.
So this happened today morning. Me(16 M) and my dad(48 M) go for a walk everyday morning. Our usual trail was unsafe, sketchy and my dad's phone got stolen recently so we went to a much safer and decent park four to five kilometers from our house on my dad's scooter. It was pretty early in the morning, around 4 am, so we got the parking spot that is in the back. My dad goes for his usual walk and I go on with my jog. We came back around 6 am and the parking was full and some douchebag had parked his bike in our spot blocking my dad's scooter. So I moved the bike aside for my dad to take out his scooter and parked the bike correctly. I was wearing headphones, listening to a podcast . Then I feel someone yanking out my headphones. I turned around to see our star for the story, entitled mother with her kid. The mother looks like she's in her early to mid forties. She's standing there without a mask. My initial reaction is defensive and I grab back my headphones and I'm like what the fuck lady?( my dad's OK with me cussing when my mom or other family members are not around. That's nice right? )
EM: Are you deaf ? I was calling you. And don't you dare cuss at me
Me: what do you want?
EM: I was telling you to hold on that bike and to park it somewhere else.
Me: that's not my bike. It is someone else's
EM: not my problem. That spot is mine.
Me: ma'am the parking place is public and is on a first come first serve basis.
EM: bullshit! that place is mine.
Me I don't want to talk to you anymore . Have a Good day
EM: you wasted my precious time, ruined our picnic and emotionally damaged my son by cussing in front of him. I want to be compensated with your headphones.
By then my dad was pissed.
Dad: lady shut up now. Find a different parking spot. I will call the police if you touch my son or his belongings.
I sit behind my dad and he starts to ride away. EM is screaming obscenities while I put on my headphones and drift off again.
Tl;DR : EM demands my headphones because I didn't give up a parking spot and emotionally traumatized her son by cussing
Edit: this blew up. Thank you. Sorry for the late edit. I was sleeping. And went for a jog today.( didn't see her)
To clarify stuff:
People were like the conversation isn't accurate. Yes, this happened in India and the language is kannada. So it couldn't be translated exactly.( can't believe such Karens exist here)
You guys were asking why is the parking lot full at 6 am. Apparently this is a ver

This hobby drama write-up is centered around Audio Science Review (henceforth referred to as βASRβ for short). ASR is run by Amir, a well-known objectivist reviewer.
Now, for those who might not be familiar with audio, one of the most polarizing, fascinating subjects in the hobby is that of the subjective and the objective. The landscape of the audio world has shifted at an alarming rate in recent years. Widespread (relative) accessibility to measuring equipment has brought the latter - the objective - to increasing importance, and at the forefront of this charge is none other than ASR and Amir.
Amir started out measuring sources (so DACs, amps, and DAPs) and was met with open arms by r/headphones. Many saw him as the second coming of NwAvGuy, a respected objectivist who unfortunately went MIA years ago (his last post was in 2012!) to many readersβ dismay. The impact of Amirβs work here cannot be understated, as much of the industry has essentially been forced to shift to designs that measure well and can fare under the rigorous standards that compose an ASR source review. Case in point, forcing popular maker Schittβs (yes, thatβs their actual company name) hand with the companyβs Magni 3 Heresy headphone amp. The βHeresyβ part is tongue-in-cheek as the amp does not meet the companyβs intended sound despite measuring well to appease the measurement crowd.
Nonetheless, for a while things were good. I mean, I certainly canβt hear the difference between 0.001 and 0.002 percent SINAD (distortion), but hey, if weβre getting things that measure better - that should objectively be better - why not? But then roughly five months ago, it happened: Amir decided to get into measuring headphones. This is where things started going downhill, and quick at that. A quick look at some more recent ASR reviews on the r/headphones subreddit will show that many of these posts sit with ~60% upvotes and no shortage of controversy in the comments. Most all have failed to make the front page altogether. As for the reasons why? Well...
