Haltane is Parfums De Marly newest release through Harrods. Unfortunately since it’s locked behind Harrods I am going to have to pay retail ($425) which is why I’m making this first.

I went to harrods today, that was incredibly fun! I finally got my nose on some of the big name fragrance brands I’ve never tried before, and some I have.

Initio - surprisingly bland, everything smelled like bubblegum on the card. Except for Oud for greatness, that just smelled like a basic oud scent… nice, but didn’t blow me away like I hoped it would. They have great names and bottles, but not my thing sadly.

Parfums de Marly - again, bland with great packaging. I have sampled these before years ago, and it is similar to how I remembered it. Spin-offs of designers. No hate though as they seem high quality, it just isn’t my cup of tea. Herod was quite nice though. Godolphin is a friendlier Tuscan Leather, but if I wanted that I’d buy Ombre Leather. Layton is vintage la Nuit de L’homme and toothpaste, so I can see why that’s so popular.

Killian - interesting. The ones that stood out to me the most were intoxicated and dark lord, but other than that… ok, I guess? I can see why they’re popular, but for the money I’d rather look elsewhere. The drydown of intoxicated is delectable by the way, I have it on a card. Also, check out apple brandy, that’s great for all you realistic gourmand lovers out there.

Atkinson’s- I already love His Majesty The Oud, and my God their other offerings are fantastic. I especially love The Other Side of Oud and Pirate’s Grand Reserve, right up my street.

MFK - baccarat rouge… everyone wears this and it’s lovely. Oud satin mood, fantastic, but not really my thing. Grand Soir - I’ve had this on my hand, wonderful stuff, very unique. Would I buy it though? Probably not. My friend really liked Ammyris Homme, and I sort of liked it too but I prefer designer freshies tbh.

Nassamato - I tried these on paper and can imagine they’re better on skin, I’ll put it that way.

Tom Ford - excellent as always. I kind of want to buy ombre leather now haha. Still, my favourite is black orchid, bar none. Only first impression was lost cherry… that’s some good shit, but not what I would wear probably. Oh, and I smelled tobacco Oud for the first time in ages, what a spectacular fragrance. It conjured up images of the old west… cowboys drinking whisky and spitting tobacco into spittoons. Good shit.

Creed - no first impressions here, all it reminded me is that this is my absolute favourite brand. I ended up wearing 4 sprays of Bois Du Portugal round the rest of harrods and getting funny looks, not compliments lol. But, interestingly, 3 hours int
