A list of puns related to "Haemorrhoid"
Iβm 1 year post partum and STILL have at least 1 haemorrhoid and a 2nd that is there every other week. I tried at one point to do a liquid diet for a few days but there was no change in stool consistency and I didnβt have the inner strength to continue. The pharmacist gave me a cream but itβs for after going to the toilet to numb the pain? Itβs not painful after, just during! Is there anything that actually works or is this my new life?! I legit didnβt know what a haemorrhoid was before giving birth so it has been somewhat of a learning curve. Also read somewhere on here that someoneβs mum has them since giving birth 30 YEARS AGO. Trying for a second baby now and want it semi fixed before it begins all over again... any advice welcome!!!!!
Iβm 25, Iβve had haemorrhoids for about 10 years that eventually crept up to a grade 4 internal and external. At the age of 22 I had internal banding procedure done which made a slight difference.. But within a year I started to develop hems again, this time worse. Iβve suffered so much on and off with flare ups, exhausted all options using regular fibre supplements, plenty of water, using regular creams and suppositories & I finally decided enough was enough.
I had THD surgery 13 days ago. My surgeon explained to me that this was a relatively painless procedure and that I should experience minimal discomfort, little pain and that I should be back to work within two weeksβ¦
Day 1: Came round from surgery in excruciating pain, was doped up instantly on morphine (opioids), which made me feel extremely drunk and sick but initially took the pain away. Later that day, I was discharged.. Later that evening I woke up in chronic, excruciating pain and had to be sent back to hospital, administered with more morphine and meds and kept in over night.
Day 2: Still in hospital, canβt eat, canβt go to the toilet, canβt pass anything, stress levels absolutely through the roof, short bursts of sleep that lasted no more then 2/3 hours, still getting sick off the opioids and suffering extreme exhaustion.
Day 3: In hospital, still doped up on morphine and paracetamol on IV as Iβm still not in control of the pain, taking 3 stool softeners a day and installs gel to numb the area. Still canβt poop but am passing pee regularly. Chronic anal spasms. Canβt sleep, still canβt eat.
Day 4: Woke up in pain but not as bad, calmed down on the opioids as I said they were making me super sick, physically and mentally exhausted due to lack of food drink, minimal sleep and pain.
Day 5: Family discharged me from hospital as the opioids had really reacted badly with me and my stress levels were pretty extreme due to no sleep food or regular fluids. Hospital treatment was pretty sh*t.
Day 6: In family care, only using paracetamol and ibuprofen for pain relief and in extreme discomfort still. Slowly eating small amounts and consuming liquids. Later on in the night, again extreme burning sensation and spasms that kept me awake and in pain.
Day 7: Woke up in discomfort still on pain relief, I decided to toke on some marijuana and it was the best pain relief I could have asked for. It eased my bowls, gave me and apatite and I started eating and sleeping for longer.
... keep reading on reddit β‘This may seem like a stupid question but do they get bigger over time? Iβve had grade 2 internal Haemorrhoids since I was around 5 (Iβm 18 now) and Iβve never noticed them getting worse or any bigger. The only big difference is that they started bleeding every 1-2 months starting when I was 14. I recently had 4 of them banded during a colonoscopy and Iβm wondering if it was worth the discomfort after; seeing as the Haemorrhoids never bothered me beforehand aside from the worrying from the bleeding of course. If theyβd stayed at grade 2, I probably wouldnβt have done anything but if they progress eventually to grade 3-4 then I definitely would have. Just curious is all.
So Iβve been dealing with haemorrhoids for a while now. At first I didnβt know thatβs what it was, because I never looked at my anus and didnβt know anyone who experienced them - so Iβve only been trying to treat them for a couple of months (I have a small external one). After trying anusol and another type of ointment (I think itβs called yarrow?) and having it only ease the symptoms (not shrink the pile) i phoned my doctor. I was told that they will never go away and was just prescribed some suppositories (which I got a couple of weeks ago but am TERRIFIED to use, which is a whole other issue) which I donβt get why she prescribed me when Iβve said theyβre external and some stool softener (even though Iβm on the pill, so canβt take because if I do my pill wonβt work). At this point Iβm starting to lose hope and just want to know if thereβs anything else I can do to help myself/if thereβs light at the end of the tunnel.
My malamute had diarrhoea today and whilst cleaning he was whining and jumping any time I cleaned his butthole directly. Once cleaned up I had a closer look and he has a little haemorrhoid bubble popping out, about the size of a pea, no bleeding. We canβt get a vet appointment until Monday, would it be ok to treat him topically with a human cream to soothe the pain and itching until we can see the vet?
Iβm still in the process of working out exactly what Iβve got, but itβs clear to me now that I suffer with chronic pelvic pain of some description. Iβm only 24, but around 8 months ago I noticed the onset of a small haemorrhoid and Iβm unsure what is causing it. I suffer with hard stools too and Iβm wondering if all the symptoms are interrelated or if theyβre separate. The constipation came on years after the pelvic pain and hasnβt left. Could the pelvic problem have caused the constipation and subsequently the haemorrhoid or is it just a coincidence? It would be good to know whether any other males experience this. Thanks
I'm 17, and around 2 days back noticed some swelling in (around?) my butthole. I thought it's nothing and will go away in an hour or two BUT IT'S NOT GOING AWAY AND IT HURTS. So i googled it and turns out I've got external haemorrhoids, it says that it might take a few weeks to heal, or require surgery. What do I do? It's painful and super uncomfortable. Please tell me it'll go away on it's own within a week T-T I'm too embarrassed to even discuss this with anyone. Help.
Hi fellow hem sufferers,
I am a 28 year old male, 6'1", pretty skinny, and eat a very healthy diet (vegetarian, lots of fruits, pulses, beans etc).
I've been suffering with bum problems for as long as I can remember - fissures and soreness when I was a kid, bleeding into my teens, lots of intermittent pain throughout my 20's and eventually prolapsing. When lockdown hit I did a lot of sitting on the sofa, and lots of rowing (on a machine) to keep fit at home. Well... for the last 9 months or so I've been in pain every day which has stopped pretty much all activity, and as I'm sure some of you know, it's not just the physical pain which causes problems - mentally it's been pretty tough as well, wondering if i'll ever have "normal" BMs again, if I'll ever be able to tour (I am a musician) or go on holiday without being in pain etc. Waking up the night after a show with your underwear drenched in blood and having to hide it from people is NOT fun.
Over the years I've been to see my GP about it a few times, who pretty much told me, "yep, you've just got to manage it - the cure is worse than the disease". He told me my haemorrhoids were my "Achilles Heel"?! Thinking about this now makes me angry, knowing that if I had sorted it earlier, I may not be in this current position.
Anyway, in February of this year, apprehensive about the idea of surgery, I went to have an "electrotherapy" treatment by Exroid in London. The doctor who carried out the procedure diagnosed me with 3 x Grade 4 haemorrhoids. The treatment provided some temporary relief, but the piles came back, and with them the pain and prolapsing. I was told by the founder of the company that multiple treatments can be necessary. In my desperate state, I booked another treatment. This second treatment did absolutely nothing. I felt duped by Exroid... especially by the founder, who told me that some patients require up to 10 treatments!! At almost a grand a pop, I wasnβt about to spend Β£10,000 on my arse for it to maybe work. Not only this, but when I was on the phone to the guy, he asked me if I could post a positive review on their TrustPilot (emphasising βcan it be done todayβ), in order to bump down someone else's negative review which was currently at the top! Typical salesman. Needless to say, this was the last contact I had with them.
After a couple more months of pain, I decided to go and see a specialist colorectal surgeon (Mr Emin Carapeti). Before the examination, he was a little sceptical

Second pregnant but already at the max weight from my first pregnancy with 3 months to go.
Thank you, this is an important milestone in my βbeautifulβ pregnancy journey that I didnβt get to experience last go around.
My butt hurts.
Iβm losing my mind. Uworld is not sticking with me in this topic. And if possible, anal fissures too. Thanks!
He asked where I had applied it.
I was on the bus.
From ages 16 to 19 I was on a medication called Accutane for my severe acne. It gave me a lot of serious side effects, one of which is haemorrhoids.
There was blood in my stools when I was on the meds. But the bleeding stopped a few months after I stopped the medication. The (external) haemorrhoids remained though. It didnβt really occur to me to go to the doctors about them. I thought they would just be a physical nuisance, and not something to be alarmed about.
Iβm 27 now. I mostly donβt have issues with the haemorrhoids aside from extra steps with cleaning up after a poo and possibly some embarrassment in sexual situations (but imo it feels worse than it looks). Sometimes I have a hard poo but at worst itβs just an extreme discomfort. I wouldnβt necessarily describe the experience as painful - and I consider my pain threshold quite low.
Do I have to go to a doctor regarding my haemorrhoids anytime soon?

This combination works great and I rarely have symptoms and can sleep through the night. But when I get haemorrhoids they just amp everything right fucking up. I told this to the urologist but he said its impossible as they are completely different things that shouldn't clash? Well all I know is when I get the fuckers it gets those symptoms back.
Try as I might, diet, losing weight and avoiding foods that would bring them, they still come.
Hi ladies, Iβll try to keep this as short as possible, but I just wanted to post this story to share a positive outcome to a horrible situation!
I have suffered with haemorrhoids on and off throughout both of my pregnancies, but on Wednesday (after several months of no trouble at all), one came back. It was incredibly thrombosed - as big as a grape, hot, tight, and just so uncomfortable.
By the early hours of yesterday morning I was in absolute agony. Iβm talking barely able to walk, screaming when I turned over in bed, horrific pain. Other than labour, it was the most pain Iβd ever experienced.
I called 111 (the non-emergency healthcare number), and they told me to go to the A&E department of the local hospital. I went, was told that haemorrhoids are common in pregnancy (I know), given some anaesthetic gel to take home, told to take paracetamol & ice the area.
By yesterday evening the pain was worse. I was scared to move because the pain was so severe I was screaming in agony (I usually go quiet when in pain, so this was really scary for my husband). I was frightened to even pee because sitting on the toilet or pushing was just so excruciating.
I called 111 again, and again they told me to go to hospital. Obviously as I was in agony, and itβs a pandemic, I wasnβt keen...but they assured me Iβd be able to get stronger painkillers, so I went.
After 2.5 hours waiting, the doctors told me I shouldnβt have come, and that my only treatment options were the same as before - paracetamol, ice, rest. I was near hysterical, begging for relief, but they said things like βonce youβve had your baby you can look at surgical optionsβ and βyou just need restβ.
I went home in floods of tears & feeling helpless. Another night of no sleep. Husband kept getting me new ice & gave me paracetamol every 4 hours, yet no change in the pain or size of haemorrhoid.
In one final attempt to get help, I called my GP this morning to book a phone appointment. She called me within half an hour. By the end of the call she had:
In 10/15 minutes I had been listened to, helped, and made to feel like I wasnβt overreacting. I no longer felt helpless,
