A list of puns related to "Glut"
There seems to be an obvious solution to the so-called talent shortage problem: hire entry level people and train them. There simply aren't enough Sr Software Engineers in the world to match the openings.
I realize new devs have a cost to them, but so does overworking Sr Devs. Sr Devs do come from somewhere; they used to be new devs! They became Sr Devs from experience and training. But the Corp world seems so short-sighted that they just want Sr Devs now who they can plop in, and they're not yet making the decision to invest in new folks.

Summary:
A wave of programs intended to boost loans from European banks has has left Euro banks flush with cash and little opportunity for investment. The situation has driven the same banking institutions to look over seas for places to park cash.
The process has caused a significant demand for USD as European banks move Euros to Dollars to earn 0.05% in deposits with the Fed. even with a strengthening dollar and paying a premium for euro cross-currency basis swaps, the opportunity continues to look attractive to European banks whom were able to borrow from the ECB at -1.0%.
Analysts expect this trend to diminish after the first of the year once banks year end balance sheets are set and in anticipation of additional treasury supply following the Feds tapering & increased debt ceiling.
The relative recent strength of the USD and the potential for slowdowns in Dollar demand from Europe could provide an opportunity to rebalance existing US Equity/Int'l Equity positions that have become out of sync due to dollar strength and the relative equity performance over the past year.
Nine of my cinema's 12 screens are currently showing Spider Man movies and I'm utterly sick of it. Sure, many blockbusters from 20 years ago weren't artistic masterpieces, but at least they weren't the 10th installment of a franchise about a man in a leotard who swings around from buildings like an urban monkey. I just don't see the appeal of these movies. And they only seem to be getting more popular.
I would normally say nbd, people are free to like what they like, but these superhero franchise films have decimated the filmspace and made more inventive, original works much rarer than they were 20 years ago.
Out of curiosity, I did a quick tally of movies--just from the MCU--of the last ~10 years. There were 27 such films. The sum of their budgets was $5,137,000,000. Add to this the 14 DC universe movies released in this same approximate time period, 7 currently slated upcoming MCU movies, and 5 upcoming DC movies, and we're looking at about 50 movies with a combined budget of well over $10 billion.
This means that the favorite films of young people today are drawn from ~50 movies all centered around the same ~10-15 characters. It feels like the film industry is being cannibalized by these superhero movies, and, judging by box office hauls for these films, it seems like I'm the only one who feels this way.
Capitalism ruins everything and it's ruining tabletop RPGs. It their essence, these games require hardly anything more than friends and an imagination, something that socioeconomic standing doesn't have as much bearing on. But now there's branded T-shirts, bespoke wooden dice boxes, flashy, artisanal dice, terrain sets, comissioned art pieces, expensive DIY table conversions, professionally carpentered furniture, the glitzy sets and soundtracks for streamers. It's disgusting. Nothing is sacred. Eventually, tabletop RPGs will be so fully exploited (probably when Critical Role becomes a full-on reality TV franchise) it will become uncool to play them again and we will recognize these objects as the consumerist trash that they are.
I can't wait for TTRPG to become niche again and something that is most often enjoyed with an out-of-date, second-hand manual and a kitchen table with friends.
Iβve been looking for some solid representations of this style and aside from Pinkus I cannot find any other imports of altbier. And aside from one local brewey the craft brewery section in my area is devoid of altbiers. Any clues to what I can find States side on the east coast to try some altbiers?
So I previously thought I understood this mechanism, but now I am confused on how this actually works. From my understanding during exercise, skeletal muscle is breaking down glycogen to use as fuel (whether aerobic or anaerobic). Assuming there is no glycogen left, you would need GLUT-4 to pull glucose into the muscle. So why then does insulin decrease during exercise if GLUT-4 is an insulin dependent transporter? Wouldn't you want to increase insulin release to drive more glucose into the muscle?
I've also seen some literature that explains that exercise alone can recruit GLUT-4 to the membrane of skeletal muscle (similar to the effects of insulin). So then is insulin only required for mobilizing GLUT-4 to the membrane, and not required for the actual uptake of glucose through the transporter?
32 weeks here. I'm having a hard time sleeping on my right (preferred) side as my upper side thigh starts hurting like a bia. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it from weight gain? What helps?
TIA!
I have a problem in that I got in a battle with Sovereign Glut following me. He dies in the battle and I couldnβt figure out how to remove him from my party or resurrect him. I now have this other problem, seems like a bug, that the 4th member of my party never follows the rest of the party so Iβm having to manually have them catch up all the time.
Is there a way to resurrect an NPC or kick them out of the party?
I was fighting the Duergar intruders and Sovereign Glut died.
I canβt seem to revive him with revivify. Is it a bug, or is it meant to be like that?
I heard this at least a decade ago on a food, wine, and travel show entitled Dining around with Gene Burns on KGO 810 AM radio.
Gene Burns was interviewing a rancher/owner/farmer who raised grass-fed beef. The show focused on how the different fat this produced impacted the beef (i.e. flavor, health benefits, cooking techniques).
I heard this radio program quite some time ago, so I donβt quite recall the details, but it went something like this:
The rancher mentioned that during World War II, some American companies were producing nitrates to be used in explosives. When WWII came to an end, those companies naturally wanted to remain profitable so they began producing fertilizer from those nitrates.
These nitrates allowed grain to be grown on land that was previously unsuitable for such crops. This in turn produced a glut of grains. And since the farmers who produced those grains didnβt want to see a price drop, they began selling those grains to cattle farmers.
So, prior to WWII most beef was grass-fed. But due to nitrates, post WWII it became chiefly grain fed.
I don't aim to sound pretentious, but the sheer amount of stuff we've been given since the baby was born 2 months ago along with alllll of the advertisements and selling thrown at us as new parents has me rejecting a lot of "must-haves" for the baby. My husband and I are finding less is more with a baby and are very content about it.
That being said, we have family and grandparents that want to dote. What are some holiday gift ideas that you all have seen that don't contribute to this baby industrial complex?
Every channel.

Glut starts a forced dialogue asking about the dwarves. They're gone. Then he asks about starting his rebellion.
I say no, he turns hostile and attacks, and then the whole neighborhood turns hostile too.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any way to avoid it? He doesn't want to go down to the docks. Everyone just starts attacking.
I usually take out the dwarves before going to the colony.
I believe when the new tax credits hit, Tesla will really be the only car manufacture capable of volume to take advantage. Maybe European car makers will come in and Hyundai, but not ford GM, Toyota or Honda, the current car leaders in the US. Furthermore people will be trading in their ICE cars, many of them relatively new. Most new cars compete with used car sales and the glut of used ICE cars will put downward pressure on all ICE cars. A shopper looking to buy a new ICE car instead of an EV will find used cars even cheaper than before and choose that over a new ICE car further hurting the ICE car market. With legacy autos bleeding money with useless ICE factory assets, Tesla will find it easier to tap into financing and new Giga factories will be built.
