The text message abbreviations in Malay (lolspeak, I guess?) is simultaneously awesome and awful. BM has long words, and SMS has only 144 characters. And once upon a time, SMS was 25 sen each or some kind of lunacy. Jadi, byk org mula pakai mcm2 ilmu hitam utk tulis ayat2 yg pendek.

I, for one, am very happy that Malaysian lolspeak is untranslatable by machine translation. I mean, you could write all sorts of crazy, especially if nobody around you understands Malay: "sy x tau la. maybe bln dpn sy ambil cuti, ble go jalan2. hihihi. sy syg ko beb. cayanggg. shhh mujurrr balak yg sa kawin x paham bm". Or you could write "bos sy.. suda la muka mcm pntianak, gaya pun mcm2... suru2 ja tau" And if anyone tries to plug that into Google Translate? Nothing. The only way of getting caught is if someone finds a Malaysian person (or subreddit...) to translate it.

But I like lolspeak because I finished secondary school in Malaysia. I am well-versed in the crazy, thanks to being a teenager with a Nokia 3310.

My sister only attended school in Malaysia up until Form 2, and has said that her brain shuts down when she has to read sms jargon. She never had her own handphone in Malaysia, as a teenager. I remember that she would rage and say, I CAN'T READ THIS SHIT, etc.

I know it's probably too early to be asking this, but I'm going to anyways. So if Gaya were to come in the summer what would happen to Alba? Now the reason I ask is this is because I doubt Gaya would come if he wasn't made guarantees of being a starter especially since he is the captain, an undisputed starter and loves Valencia. I don't think he'd accept a role of backup or splitting minutes with Alba and I don't think Alba would be happy being a backup. So what would happen to Alba, he turns 33 in March and there was reports last summer that Barça was ready to move on from him and were prepared to swap him with Inter for Alessandro Bastoni, ultimately it didn't happen. So what do you guys think happens? Does he get sold? Does he accept a backup role/splitting minutes role? Or does he surprise us all and retire?
