Bonjour, Sujet très classique sur ce sub, mais je n'ai malheureusement pas pu trouver de réponse étant donné que ma situation est un peu différente de ce que j'ai pu lire jusqu'à présent.
Contexte:
- cdi dans une boîte "écran" française, qui me vend ensuite en presta à une boîte US. La boîte n'ayant pas de bureau en France, c'est le montage qu'ils ont trouvé pour m'engager. Je suis donc contractuel de leur point de vue, même si j'ai un cdi français en pratique.
- salaire de 150k, sans aucun avantage à côté, en particulier pas d'action.
- poste d'architecte data. En pratique, je ne fais plus de dev et que du design technique.
En parcourant ce sub, et notamment en découvrant le net de certains free-lance, je me pose la question de si ce ne serait pas pertinent de chercher à me lancer également, et commencer à prospecter. J'ai l'impression qu'un TJM de 600-700 me donnerait un net au moins équivalent, mais je me trompe peut être.
Je suis preneur de tout avis, et en particulier: au vu de mon salaire assez élevé, est-ce que cela vaut tout de même la peine de considérer l'option free-lance, ou je perds mon temps et je n'aurai pas de différence significative d'un point de vue financier ?

Hi , I (M22) have started to work for a audio production company for 2 events in the last month . For this company , I get paid per event (not per hour ). The owner of the company offered to pay me 100$ for my first event but he actually sent me 150$ . For the 2nd event , I assumed I was getting paid 150$ and I actually got 230$.
I'm not trying to complain but I would like to ask how do I ask my boss what will he be paying me whenever I work an event for him ?
That's basically it, I want to hire a professional to develop a mod for me in beamng. More specifically its a admin commands/UI mod that I want for beammp applications. I am working for a company that all service in provided in the US - I am also still registered as a non-tax citizen in the country where I reside (I am here legally as a temporary resident).
After a whole lot of back and forth with 2 accountants and various tax authorities - they seem to think I should pay tax in the US (though I live here).
That being said - my question is as follows:
- Since I do not live in any state- do I only need to pay federal tax? (The only possible state could be Minnesota where I use my dad's address for voting ....ect...)
- Due to this run-around I have nearly 5 months of unpaid taxes to neither the country I live nor the United States - if I make a payment now based on what I expect to owe - where there be a penalty for late payment as a self-employed individual?
I think long run I will need to switch my tax-residence to here - but in the meantime I am not quite sure how to proceed.
