A list of puns related to "Fred Silverman"
This post examines eight major Thanksgiving myths, covering these topics.
If you're more interested in watching a video, you can view this same content here.
The only two colonial primary sources of the event, written by Edward Winslow and William Bradford, were lost during the eighteenth century, which contributed to the historical obscurity of the event, and its lack of cultural recognition outside the New England states. I will be drawing on these two primary sources throughout this post, as well as on mainstream scholarly commentary.
The secular festival myth
One common belief is that the 1621 meal was not actually a Christian thanksgiving to God, but was actually a simple meal with which the Pilgrims thanked the local Wampanoag people for helping survive. [1] From a slightly different perspective their 2001 book The Times of Their Lives: Life, Love, and Death in Plymouth Colony, James and Patricia Deetz similarly make the claim that since the Winslow account of the 1621 meal βmakes no mention of thanksβ, it is βnot close enough for us to see the event as the βfirst Thanksgivingβ. [2] Instead, they characterize it as an English harvest festival, of no religious significance.
Historian Jeremy Bangs, who has specialized in the study of the Pilgrims, takes issue with this conclusion, considering it badly founded on insufficient evidence. [3] He points out that even if it was a harvest festival, such occasion were certainly not secular, and were accompanied by prayers. He notes that the Book of Common Prayer the Pilgrims would have taken them from England, actually contains a prayer specifically for a harvest thanksgiving. [4]
Additionally, Bangs observes that Winslowβs thanksgiving account βincludes biblical phrases referring to texts whose completion includes thanksgivingβ, which would certainly have been known by the other members of the community, and recognized as part of the mealβs fundamentally religious character. [5]
Bangs concludes by writing βWe think the Pilgrims should have thanked the Indiansβ, before adding that it is βstill inaccurate to bend the evidence to suggest that the P

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
First of all, thanks to each one of you chunks of coal who emerged from beneath the Queensboro Bridge and waded through blood and bone to complete this survey.
Possibly as expected, the most popular episode was Super Dave Osborne with a Q-score of 95, with Andy Dick a close second at 93. What can I say? One man with a doghouse, and one with partial ownership thereof, producing a near-perfect episode each.
While those two are sucking each other's delicious assholes up at the top, in the tier just below them are the likes of Swardson, Merchant, Gottfried, Larry King, Spade, Tom Green, Saget, Letterman, Nealon, and Fred Willard with Q-scores in the 80s and high 70s.
Then down at the bottom in a class all by herself, universally despised, an episode called everything from "Shit" to "Fuckin' shit", with a Q-score of 7, you guessed it - Frank Margaret Cho.

Do your worst!
In 2012 BDS was calling for musical boycotts. David Renzer (at the time Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Publishing) and Steve Schnur (Music President, Electronic Arts) got together to form a group to help protect their musical artists against BDS harassment called Creative Community for Peace. They soon got: Warner Bros Records, Sony/ATV Publishing, Geffen Records, Atlantic Records, Columbia Records, William Morris Endeavor, Interscope Records, Ultra Records, AEG Presents, Capitol Records, and Amazon to join. They offered 3 services to managers and agents:
Advice, recommendations and support in monitoring and/or managing the messages on social or in traditional media when their artists were under attack.
Support, information, and further explanations of various accusations or threats being made.
Arrangements to meet with β and possibly perform with β Israelis and Palestinians who use music and the art as a bridge to peace; to connect, communicate and better understand each otherβs narratives.
Eventually bands started helping band members. Groups like: Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, One Republic, The Backstreet Boys, Robbie Williams, Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso, alt-J, Chris Brown, Suzanne Vega, Diana Krall, Art Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Dionne Warwick, Rihanna, Clean Bandit, Martin Garrix, Kygo, Enrique Iglesias, The Chainsmokers, Carlos Vives, Jason Derulo, A$AP Ferg, Ziggy Marley, PUSHA T, Chronixx, David Guetta, Flying Lotus, The Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Daddy Yankee, Akon, Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber, 30 Seconds to Mars, Julio Iglesias, REM, Barbra Streisand, Kaiser Chiefs, Pet Shop Boys, Guns Nβ Roses, Burt Bacharach, Cyndi Lauper, Placebo, Chris Cornell, Alan Parsons, Tony Bennett, Matisyahu, Ron Carter offered their own experiences in how they handled and dealt with BDSer led intimidation and harassment campaigns directly to the groups while allowing Creative Community for Peace to service record companies, managers / agents and band members.
Creative Community for Peace supports dialogue and exchange over cultural boycott:
> We at Creative Community For Peace hope for a peaceful and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We believe dialogue, which can be facilitated through the arts and music, is crucial to helping to achieve this goal. The BDS movement β both thr

"You always had stones, Jack. Have to give you that. But unfortunately for you, stones ain't enough these days. Enhanced strength, invulnerable skin, superior reflexes⦠that's what today's underworld's all about. It's why I'm the top capo to the most powerful crime boss in New York City, and, as I predicted, you're a washed up has-been."
Vince Dio is Jackie Dio's brother, and both of them worked under Silvermane right as super-humans started to become prevalent in the New York crime scene. Vince believed that super-human enhancements were the way of the future, but Jackie disagreed vehemently following the death of their father to a faulty super-suit. Vince took a step too far one day with Jackie, and Jackie punished him accordingly and told him to leave New York. Vince did not, however, instead he worked with the police to incarcerate Jackie and later obtained highly enhanced strength from the Consultant, which he would use to become an enforcer of The Owl, another mob group, and adopted the moniker "Mr. Pain".
