As a Canadian, I know Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole as morning fixtures on TSN's SportsCentre (the Canadian version of ESPN's SportsCenter) for many years. Their comedic antics gained quite a following here in Canada and did much to liven up a show centred around sports scores and highlights.
In 2013, Jay and Dan (along with the unseen but highly influential Producer Tim) migrated to the United States to become the inaugural hosts of Fox Sports Live on the brand-new Fox Sports 1 network. However, after only four years, the network cut ties with them and they migrated back up North and returned to TSN. Sadly, due to budget cuts, O'Toole was let go in February of this year.
I have two questions for you:

What was the general reception of American viewers towards Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole? Were they liked or disliked in general? Were they generally found to be funny, or were they generally found to be annoying? Were they an asset to FS1, or more a detriment?

Why did FS1 let them go in 2017? Was it viewer complaints? Budget cuts? Something else?
Any information would be appreciated.
